Piotr and Dervish double check that their potions are reachable but otherwise don’t prepare anything. Dervish moves toward the front in case they decide that stealth is needed while Piotr remains in the back so his arrows can do the fighting.
ooc - Chael will have his glaive at the ready, but otherwise does not prepare anything (barbarian and all that).
Chael walked beside the others, his gaze distant—fixed somewhere far beyond the path ahead. Yet despite that far-off look, he listened to Piotr with full attention.
“It is admirable, to fight for your village by standing against evil. I look forward to seeing the kind of hero you become… and the songs the bards might one day sing of your deeds—should we prevail.”
For someone who seemed perpetually caught between serenity and silent frustration, he spoke with surprising sincerity—quiet, but heartfelt.
Turning to Korvir,
“I’ll leave the intelligence gathering to those more suited to it. Just point me toward the cultists when the time comes. Judgment will be swift.”
Korvir adds, “Don’t look at me. I’ll walk in the middle of the pack. Stay within 10 ft of me and my auras will help you. I will try to frighten anything within 30ft. Anything frightened that is 10ft away cannot move. Use that to your advantage focus on helping each other when you can.”
So, I’m guessing
Dervish and Chael
Korvir and Pax or Spencer
Pax or Spencer and Piotr
familiars?

Pax messages pther team members with the info (Pax relays it spotted a group of big bipedal snake looking things. One bigger than the other three. Distance 60ft 1/2 cover. then an open area.)
ooc - If possible, Chael would try to remember if he has heard about these creatures Pax mentioned and whether or not they are affiliated with the cult or just plain evil. Otherwise, he would just keep moving forward without bothering them.
Chael paused as Pax described what their imp had seen in the distance. Without a word at first, he reached into his enchanted satchel and drew forth a glaive.
“Friends or foes… I wonder.”
His cold gaze remained fixed in the direction Pax had indicated.
“Perhaps I should approach them first and ask. I’d rather not strike down the innocent.”
They are Yuanti and with that survival roll you have some knowledge of the creature's abilities. The survival roll in this case negates the need for insight. Explained below.
A malison (picture above) is a hideous blend of human and serpentine features. Three different types of malisons are known to exist, and other types are possible. Malisons form the middle caste of yuan-ti society and hunt with arrows tipped with their own venom. They use their magical powers of suggestion to force their enemies’ surrender.
Purebloods (picture above) form the lowest caste of yuan-ti society. They closely resemble humans, yet a pureblood can’t pass for human under close scrutiny because there’s always some hint of its true nature, such as scaly patches of skin, serpentine eyes, pointed teeth, or a forked tongue. Wearing cloaks and cowls, they masquerade as humans and infiltrate civilized lands to gather information, kidnap prisoners for interrogation and sacrifice, and trade with anyone who has something that can further their myriad plots.
Yuan-ti are devious serpent folk devoid of compassion. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.

ooc - Chael is going to rage and dash towards them unless someone tries to stop him. I do intend to knock at least one of them unconscious for questioning.
As Chael drew closer, the figures became clearer. In truth, Pax’s description had flown over his head.
“Ah… Yuan-ti. Evil to their very core. Whatever they’re plotting, it can’t be good.”
A rare smile tugged at his lips.
“Be wary of their weapons coated in poison and attacks against your mind, forcing you to surrender.Rest assured, I will smite them now.”
Without hesitation, Chael lunged forward, his glaive flashing as divine purpose ignited behind his eyes.

Just as you get ready to jump into action 4 more start bubble out of the water behind you 60ft. A perfect setup only they didn't think you see them up ahead so soon.
You all have 1 round to prepare. From Chael survival information you know poison is a factor, resistance, immunity or attacks.
Roll init if not already done and list you pre-round actions please.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
ooc - Chael will stick to his original plan of rushing the visible Yuan-ti ahead of them while the group deals with the ambushers. Init roll 18 Chael has access to Instinctive Pounce: As part of the bonus action you take to enter your rage, you can move up to half your speed. So he can enter his rage, move 20 ft towards the group, then use his action to attack one of them immediately, reckless. But if you'd rather I wait for the init to start, I will. He has no items or spells to prep.
OOC - DM I forgot we are doing group init. As such I took our highest roll up to max of 20 which we had and the enemies highest roll of 17 for their init. Pax's Imp will use 20 as well.
Everyone do your first round of activity, potions movement then I will start init with our group going first. Everyone post when you want, and I will take them as they come it.
DM house rule allows up to 3 potions before mixability issues come into play....@Chael fyi
Korvir has an aura of protection 10ft radius +5 to save if you are near him, please state so.
Map adjustment...Group B was underwater so the just surfaced 60ft away. Adjusted Chael spoiler to match the map.
OOC = Perhaps this would be a good time to get a marching order and what everyone is doing?
Current time 11:00 AM
Provide active spells you have going if any: Mage armor or Aid etc.
