Within the Barrier Mountains that separate the kingdom from a land once lost, a new discovery! The entrance to a long-lost dwarven city. But already it's known to be dangerous. Kobolds, goblins, and other monsters have been seen near its unassuming doors. Some even swear they've seen dragon wings in the moonlight. With the king's armies far way fighting a rival kingdom and most of these rumors turning up with little to show, adventurers are sought out to investigate this news and bring back word of what they find.
I'm recruiting for a a simple lv5 quest. 4/5 characters. One dungeon. Some combats. So a quick campaign. Please include the following in an application
Character Name: Race: Class & Subclass: Background: Character Sheet:
Stat Generation: 4d6 drop lowest. Do not reroll 1s. If you don't like what you roll, feel free to use point-buy / standard array.
Backgrounds: If your background does not provide a feat then you may choose one.
Equipment: Starting Equipment, +250gp to buy more, 1 uncommon item. (If your uncommon item is a weapon/armor/etc, please keep its base item within what you could afford. ie: No Adamantine/Mithral Plate for example though splint would be fine.)
Allowed Sources: Official material. No partnered content nor homebrew. (Though homebrew copies of official material you don't own on DDB is fine, just let me know.) Tasha's optional rules are fine. I don't have content sharing, but I can try to help you out with PHB/DMG/MM material as DMs can edit character sheets, including subclass/spells/race.
Posting Expectations: Will try for at least once a day.
Homebrew Rules
Short Rests are 1 minute. Effects/spells still count down as if 1 hour had occurred. Goal: Allows me to have things closer together in the dungeon while still letting the party short-rest without finding a place that's safe for an entire hour. And by keeping spells counting down, keeps 1 hour / 10 minute duration spells that weren't intended to last through a short rest still in their designed time frame.
You can use a bonus action for a second item interaction. Goal: I know I've had cases where a character is juggling some weapons, so figure this adds some versatility.
When hidden, you can step 5ft from beyond your cover and still gain the unseen attacker bonus. Goal: Helps things like rogues hide behind a pillar for sneak attack and not lose that unseen attacker bonus from stepping out from behind the pillar. Also pretty sure this is how most people rule it anyways.
Combat will use block initiative. I may also adjust things after seeing the initiative to make nicer blocks. (Example: If two PCs were split in initiative by a single enemy then I might move that enemy up/down in initiative so the PCs can be grouped together.) Goal: I've seen block initiative used to great effect in PBP to help combat remain more fluid.
If you have a gish character that wants to sword and board such as an eldritch knight, we can also figure out your spellcasting focus in a way that doesn't require you to drop your sword to grab it. Whether that's an attunement-free Ruby of the Warmage or something similar we can discuss. Goal: The juggling like that feels silly on classes/subclasses intended to be holding weapons with both hands.
Short and straight-forward dungeon crawling sounds great right now. Hope you don't mind a simple character for it.

Not really. Kind of lore-lite here. Biggest lore idea though to tie in would be wanting to find a way through the Barrier Mountains to what lies beyond. Otherwise it's very "make your own."

With the answer to my question, here is my application:
-Character Name: Reklan, They/Them
-Race & Subrace: Tabaxi (MOTM version, small size)
-Class & Subclass: LVL 4 Rogue, Soulknife Archetype/LVL 1 Warlock, Genie Pact. Could I possibly make melee attacks with my Psychic Blades?
-Background & Backstory: Urchin (Extra Feat: Mobile). Backstory: (TLDR: Adopted by nice barkeep, became treasure hunter, lost hands and found magic gem that connects them to weird being and gives them new magic hands)
Reklan was born poor and destitute, abandoned and alone, and a very small kitten (even know, they only stand about three and a half feet tall), the crime-ridden city was very dangerous to a young, defenseless Tabaxi. For the first year of their life, they crawled through the shadows, always hungry and alone. Until, reklan stumbled upon the Rusty Nail tavern, a respectable inn and bar run by a fellow named Jonathan Wilkins, or "Big Jon" as he was known by the patrons. Big Jon brought Reklan in, and raised them, having the tabaxi work in the bar when they were old enough to be a server. Reklan was raised on the tales of faraway places and fantastical lands such as the one rumored to be beyond the Barrier Mountains, regaled with countless stories of fabulous treasures and mysterious artifacts. Their wanderlust grew, until eventually, the decided to leave home. And so, setting out with nothing but a pack strapped to their back and a want, no, a need to see the world, Reklan ventured out into the wide wide world. They became a treasure hunter, delving into ancient crypts and dark caverns in search of expensive old stuff to sell on the black market. But, disaster struck when they were delving into the tomb of a skilled artificer. They found a strange gem on a pedestal, and upon taking it, had a swinging blade trap scythe off both their hands. They managed to grab the gem in their teeth and run for their life as the countless other traps the inventor had set started to go off. They escaped, but just barely, and Reklan now had no hands. So, they ventured back to their home city, staying in the Rusty Nail. As they recovered from the experience, they began to study the gem, and what they found was strange. After toiling away for months, trying to figure out the secret of the crystal, they managed to activate it's magic. A voice spoke to them, the voice of a strange being. It told Reklan it was a being from beyond the stars that needed an emissary, an emissary to go out into the world and find a set of mystic artifacts. Reklan agreed to become it's emissary, and was gifted magical powers, the most important of which is the ability to summon clawed hands made of psychic energy. Now, they have answered the call for heroes, their patron guiding them to believe that one of the artifacts is in the stronghold.
