Milamber shakes his head at the shared ghost stories. "Do you really think that a hardy group of capable companions like us could really be adversely affected by such pitiful fiends as apparitions? Stand strong my friends, and we will overcome this bump in our journey."

Ross looks around the room before heading through the new hallway. He says to Milamber, "Well the stories came from somewhere right? Learn from others mistakes."
"let's just keep our eyes open, who knows what is here, better to be prepared either way" Tengen refreshes the light spell on her orb, and keeps a watchful eye on the area as they move about.

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
Muirdan nods at Tengen, and utters another prayer conferring the Guidance of Dumathoin upon Rosa, who seems to be taking point on approaching the table, and new areas in general, and then follows.
As you continue down the short hallway, it turns to a half flight of stairs heading down. Proceeding onward, with all due caution and prepared attacks, you find yourselves in a twenty foot square room, with five doorways leading off of it. A four foot diameter well that stands three feet tall sits in the middle of the room. You can see a wooden bucket dangling over the well, run through pulleys on the ceiling. Near the bottom of the room is a sixth doorway, leading into further darkness.
Peeking into the first of the doorways, this looks like slightly better housing. There are moldy stray mattresses sitting on wooden frames, along with wooden chests secured with rusty iron padlocks.
Muirdan tentatively steps forward to examine the well and pulley mechanism, taking especially care to examine the stone around the well if the well itself is crafted from stone.
Tengen begins to look into the rooms, she looks over at Grythek and beckons the ranger to follow her "Help me look through these rooms over here" pointing to the rooms on the side of the well they entered from.
As she does, she uses detect magic throughout the area.
Assuming it has been far longer than a minute since Dumathoin last provided Guidance to Rosa, Muirdan nods, prays for Rosa again, and makes an "after you gesture" to his handsome companion towards the nearest chest.
(To break you would need to attack the lock. They are rusted iron, so call it an AC of 17 and 5 hp per. Bludgeoning weapons would have advantage on the attack.)
Rosa, you shatter the lock adroitly, sending a clatter up through the air as the rusty metal meets its end. When you open up the chest, you pull out a leather satchel containing 11 gold and 60 silver pieces. Though as you open it, and get a feel, you have a chance to inspect the material. It's not normal leather, it appears that this was crafted from the skin of a person, judging by the light swirls of a tattoo that you can make out in the surface.

"And the stories with ghosts send with someone sacrificed on a table" mutters Muirdan as he follows Rosa
"Or with a ghost dinner around one like that.." adds the ranger.

Rosa continues down the hallway checking for danger.
Milamber follows Rosa closely with a firebolt prepared in the palm of his hand. He does not want to be taken by surprise once again.

As you scan the area, you sense nothing magical about the chests or mattresses or the well. Everything appears to be mundane.
Rosa looks to the group and says,"Let's get into these chests and make sure there's no more dead people in here haunting this place."
(What kind of check would it be to break these locks?)

Rosa attacks the lock

(Wooo! I actually beat a lock)
As it shatters, Rosa pulls it off, opens the chest, and looks inside.
(Which bedroom did you go into?)
(The one closest to the stairs)
