"When you are ready to proceed, Za'Chak will escort you to those at the top of the mountain to help trigger the avalanche."
The large lean scout, Za'Chak seems restless, "When you are ready, we will leave at once. We were also attacked, by a group of goblins riding on huge demon-eyed wolf creatures. He pulls two necklaces out of a pouch. "Temujin was killed as well as another friend."
The group follows Za’cack at a faster than comfortable pace. After several hours, you arrive at the top of the ridge.
up top, you spot movement coming up the hill and quickly identify the scout and your friends. However, a new human, breathing heavily u der his chain mail trails slightly behind.
"Look there!" Zarbyn points out the newcomers, "More help has arrived!"
He goes to greet his friends and asks Za'Chak, "Who is this you have brought with you, they are not Toa-Suo, perhaps a messenger?"

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
After a few moments to catch his wind, Morric will introduce himself. “ hello new friends, my name is Morric, I am from the village of Zengris with the task of thumping the goblins responsible for kidnapping and torture of some of the youth from the village. Only one of the lads survived the ordeal. The goblin responsible apparently leads this weird cult with rat-ogre-goblin spawn..I am grateful to find others here thumping them goblins as well” he looks around at the great warriors around with a huge smile
Lira studies Morric for a moment, noting his battered armor and the strange eye on his greatsword. His easygoing demeanor contrasts sharply with the grim tale he shares, but she doesn’t doubt his sincerity. She nods, her expression serious. “Then it seems we have a common enemy. This cult isn’t just raiding villages—they’re after something much bigger. If they succeed, a lot more than just Zengris will suffer.”
Lev notes the longbow and arrows, but doesn't take them at first. As fine as they look, the glaive he has is more than enough for him, plus it feels wrong taking a weapon from a fallen comrade. He's never been one for looting, so looting from a comrade's body definitely doesn't peak his interest. If Za'Chack were to take it that would be different, but Lev has no personal connection to Tseren, even considering that he'd been accepted into the clan, so he'll leave the bow for now.
He helps rig the trap along with the others, rarely saying much aside from perhaps a small recommendation here and there.
When Za'Chack returns with company, he raises an eyebrow at Morric but doesn't question his presence.
Vydar shrugs off any offer of healing, "I'm fine, wasn't injured." He mutters. He eyes the staff that he and Iolinder had found, kicking himself for being to caught up in his victory to take the initiative to search the mage.
"I can try and identify that if necessary." He says, "I may have an idea as to what it is but I'm not sure."
You look around trying to locate where the sound came from.
After 60 silent counts, "Boom!" The same noise, now easier to locate, coming from the army in the open field below.
From atop your perch, the group observes as the camp begins to stir. A single drummer, continues one beat, every 60 counts.
Then, after 15 (minutes), a second drummer adds his instrument to the first. ("Boom....Tic").........("Boom.....Tic")
Another 15 silent counts of 60, and 2 more drummers add in their melodies. "Boom...Tic a tic a tic.") (Boom....Tic a tic a tic"), but now, it seems the main beat is sounding every 45 counts.
Tents come down, formations begin to form.
Za'Chak looks away from the scene below. "Could the drummers be organizing the troops?"
("Boom Boom....Tic a tic a tic").......... ("Boom Boom....Tic a tic a tic").......... ("Boom Boom....Tic a tic a tic").......... ("Boom Boom....Tic a tic a tic")
The sun begins to rise from the east. The task before you is clear and if you have any luck, the army will march in tight formation into the narrow valley below you.
"Have you thought about the words of the elder? She mentioned something about continuing the journey of the Sh'torem." He looks to the group for clarity. "Where do you go from here?"
"We still haven't visited caches 4 and 5 where there are two more artifacts, so maybe cache 4 next?"
Zarbyn asks questioningly of his companions now that they are all together again.
"I've been giving it some thought and it's dangerous to gather the artifacts together. If either group gets their hands on them they're that much closer to completing their evil designs."
Lira nods at Zarbyn’s concern, crossing her arms as she considers their options. “Aisulu mentioned a wizard in Port Blacksand who might know how to destroy the artifacts safely. If we don’t figure that out, we’re just playing into the cult’s hands by gathering them all in one place.” She pauses, glancing at the others before continuing. “Besides, we already have a lead there. Back in cache one, we found a wooden key—looked like it belonged to a cult hideout in the city. If we can find that compound, we might uncover more about their plans.”
She shifts her weight, casting a glance toward the dark horizon. “I get that it’s risky, but splitting them up won’t stop the cult from tracking them down eventually. If we’re going to stop them, we need to know how to end this for good.”
After explaining the staff's use to Iolinder, he glances towards the drums.
"If we are planning to cause an avalanche we should do it now. Those drums could amplify it, and we'd disrupt whatever signals the drummers are giving."
He nods to Lira, "Yeah, destroying them is the only option. Though I think at the moment we should be focusing on the task at hand."He jabs a thumb towards the drummers. "You all had plans to make an avalanche, did you have any plans on how to actually do it?"
Lira gestures toward the weak spots in the snow and where a small slide had already begun. "That area there, and just north of it, are primed to go. We set up small triggers with loose rocks and such last night so it's ready to go anytime."
The rhymic drums change beats ("Boom.....Boom.....Tic tic tic......boom......boom.....tic tic tic"), the formation of mixed goblins, ogres, huge walking rat-like creatures, and the wagons with cages with things moving inside begin to advance toward the valley opening. The drummers pounding notes should accentuate the strength of the avalanche, and your best hope is that it will cause a much larger mass to go down than originally predicted. (5 minutes until they enter the area of effect of the avalanche).
You figure you have three options for when they enter.
Option 1: begin avalanche when 1/3 of the army is within the estimated area of avalanche/ thus blocking most of the army from entering (But many may be able to retreat)
Option 2: Being avalanche when 1/2-3/4 of the army is within (Some will get through and attack the waiting mighty warriors within.)
Option 3: Begin avalanche when all of the army is within: More of the army will be able to escape the avalanche, but will harm the back of the army the most.
Za'chak looks out at the army, and asks to see your maps to cache 4 and 5. (Assuming you show him). He points to the huge towering mountain off in the distance to the north. "That is stormy peak. This place on the map" (he points to cache 4). "I think you could get there by staying on this mountain ridge instead of descending back down to the open valley below where you found the palace. This would allow you to avoid any goblins still down there." He looks you over, "I'm sure you could use some rest. You have been awake for one day and night. Be sure to rest somewhere, and beware of large white bears. Also, there may be some creatures you encounter that are like hairy trolls. They may attack as well, but a show of strength could scare them off."
(Path marked in bright red. X is your location, The yellow is where you believe the avalanche will hit. blue is the road you took to get to cache 3)
"Vydar has a point, we should get ready to start the avalanche."
Zarbyn thanks Za'Chak for his advice and help. He also advocates for Option 1 above as their original plan was to try and prevent the goblin army from entering and having the avalanche do damage to the army is an added bonus.

As the army gets closer, you can start to identify different groups. In the front, several battle standards identify two groups, with the symbol of the dragon king on them, as well as other symbols (which you guess are other goblin clans that have joined the group). Then you see the iron cages on wagons. They are filled with 100s if not 1000s of rats, crawling over and around each other in the eagerness to get out. Then a layer of the familiar summoned rat ogres follow. Four additional units of goblins are getting into position as they patiently wait. In the rear are what look like skirmishers, scouts, armed with missile weapons. Three huge armored ogres and additional scouts guard 4 leader looking types. Three appear to be warriors, and one bears a cap, staff, and skulls.
Studying the approaching forces, Lira frowns thoughtfully. "I think waiting for the middle, specifically between the rats and rat-ogres (Option 2) might be better. If they spread disease, we don't want any of them getting into the valley."

Vydar:
Vydar learns the plans to trigger the avalanche. As he observes the set up and hears the music an idea occurs to him:
It is possible that if you trigger the avalanche timed with the drums echoing in the valley, the effect of the avalanche could be amplified.
