Etriel casts Shield as Reaction and an invisible (and impenetrabile) barrier blocks the big spear.
The foreign traveler spins on her heels with grace and speed, bringing yet another time her steel blades towards the brute.
[[ OOC: Etriel uses her Action to attack the monster, using both Shortsword and Dagger (thanks to Dagger's Nick property, available to her because of her Mastery). Since she hit last time with her Shortsword, she now has Advantage on that attack (thanks to Shortsword's Vex property, available to her because of her Mastery). ]]
The massive legs of the giantess are an easy target for the Eladrin Huntress - especially after the enemy was out of balance because of the magically stopped blow.
The steel find its wsy throufh arteries and a pool of blood starts flooding the snow, while the Verbeeg falls and closes her eyes... forever.
"Not the end I wanted" Etriel Darastrix states, tending to her own wounds "but she left us no choice. I just hope this is the last prey we are forced to take down for today".
A fitting person for the final blow. The blood is staining the snow red, as the body lays next to the basket that the Verbeeg dropped. Inside the basket (assuming someone will look) is pieces of metal. It looks like scraps and it is hard to tell what it came from. Anyone who looks at the metal can make an Intelligence (Arcana) check.
And can someone remind me, was there a plan to get the mead back to town yet or are you still working that out?
Neldak looks at the metal. It does not look like any metal you would expect to find on this world.
(no idea why it called for an arcana check in the module. It kind of works for "out of this world", but equally it could just be a metal you haven't seen)
"Never seen anything like this before. I wonder where she found this...." Neldak will add the metal to his pack. "Well, how should we get these two barrels back to town? Do you think we could fashion a sled or cart?"
The foreign traveler hums a melodious chant to Sehanine Moonbow, while stroking her fingers over the places where the skin is still torn by the spearhead. In response to the thaumaturgical treatment, her wounds close completely.
The eladrin huntress meanwhile stares with her green eyes at the elf who more than any other has defied the violence of the giant, remaining beside her during the melee: "You have all my gratitude, Lord Danon. Without your valiant defense, I could easily have met my end at tha hands of our brutal opponent, when she managed to land the lucky strike whose last marks I have just finished erasing".
[[ OOC: Upcasting Cure Wounds with a 2nd level spell slot ]]
"Ordinary materials are usually more fascinating than metal, Lord Neldak..." the healed eladrin huntress approaches curiously "...but I'll grant you that I, in my travels, have never yet come across this kind of mineral. I'd like to keep a piece of it as a memento of this place... as well as to hold on to the hope that one day I may meet someone who knows something about it".
"I, unfortunately, have no skill in building sleds or carts..." Etriel Darastrix sighs "I was hoping we could simply roll the mead barrels back to the village".
As the Verbeeg falls, Cirim lets out a cheer, then quickly follows up with a moan, as her blood begins to mingle with that of the Verbeeg on the ground.
She follows Etriles lead and casts healing on herself for 15 points of healing, as Sparks lands lightly on her shoulder.
"Whoa, way better." She looks around, "anyone else hurt and in need of healing, in case our battles are not yet done for the day?"
"Your concern does you credit, Lady Cirim," Etriel Darastrix smiles at the helpful she-orc "but the Moonlit Mystery has already done me the favor of getting me in tip-top shape for further travel".
The foreign traveler scans the rest of the party with her green eyes [[ OOC: I think no one is hurt anymore ]], patiently waiting to see if anyone has better ways to transport the barrels, bear meat and hide, and the flock to Good Mead - or if they'll have to roll the goods.
Danon watches Etriel heal herself, he stands up straight and takes some deep breaths, forming his hands together in the center of his body. Warmth flows out of his hands as he goes through a breathing routine for 1-2 minutes, then replies. “That one was dangerous. I was hoping she would turn away and this would not be necessary. But as before, you fought valiantly, I was fearful that you were killed though with her blow. I’m impressed with your skill with the blade, yet again.” He considers her body, looking back at everyone saying…”Should we take her head too? And the mead as well….”
Danon examines any wood scraps around, tries to find any crates or heavy branches that could be lashed together, looking for good pieces of wood with his woodcarving skills to fashion a makeshift sled to haul these things back to town.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Etriel Darastrix will also be happy to help Danon, replying in the meantime: "I received martial training, before dedicating myself to my travels - and we both know how refined the elven art of fencing is - but your unarmed combat techniques are neither less refined, nor less effective, I have had the pleasure of noticing. It reassures me to know you are beside me, Lord Danon".
Danon begins searching for scraps of wood and then uses his tools to fashion a sled with notched pieces for strength, of sufficient size to stack the barrels of mead. “Just… about… there!” He looks at it with appraising, twisting his head this way and that. “I guess it will do…” He seems critical of his handiwork. He smiles at Etriel as he’s doing so. “And it reassures me that you are at my side, m’Lady! It is an honor to fight beside you. We.. ah… work well together!” He turns back to his wood working. “The pegs and notches must fit tightly, you see. Tight fitting joints.” He stands and starts to fit the barrels onto the makeshift sled, making his hands busy, moving fast.

[[ OOC: Verbeeg turn again, I guess... if she still lives ]]
Ooooo. It does miss, and the Verbeeg had 5hp left so now down to literally 1hp.....
And she swings angrily. First at Etriel (17 to hit, 19 damage) knocking her back to unconscious. Second swing goes on Cirim. 20 to hit for 21 damage.
Time for someone to put her out of her misery. AC14, 1hp. First person to deal damage can describe how they kill her.
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
