Fyi, Cass has a healer's kit on him (I assume it's visible like a belt bag or whatever) if anyone goes down (feel free to loot it from him and use it if he does lol).
Shopping list for doc: healers kit x javelins Martial weapon anything else?:P

Made real short work of that ooze, gang! Well done.
Doc and Navrine attacking prior to Cassian and Chromir was just a bit of init luck ... but I think it turned the tide of battle fairly well.
It might not have been super clear from the IC description, but if Cassian and/or Chromir had been able to act before the ooze had been pummeled, it would have been able to split into two separate oozes. Not an insurmountable problem, all things considered, but it would have doubled the chances of a character getting one-shotted. The ooze was not very powerful (with regard to hp remaining), but its pseudopod attack packed a wallop! (2d6+2 bludgeoning and 1d6 acid). Enough to one-shot most of the party.
I feel like if it had had a chance to roll two or three attacks ... one or more of the party would have fallen.
The only reason the ooze couldn't split was because it was brought to less than 10hp remaining before it was targeted with slashing damage.
That encounter was designed to 'soften' up the party, make them dedicate some resources.
As soon as the heroes pile up on an enemy four-to-one ... it's pretty much game over for the opponent. Lucky to survive the first round and get a single attack off, in other words.
Nearing the end of this lvl1 dungeon, gang. So far, I'm pretty happy with the test drive.
How about you guys? Thoughts? Suggestions? Gripes?
Nice! And I'm loving the campaign so far, no complaints.
As far as the new rules, I'm enjoying lvl1 2024 paladin more than 2014. Being able to smite/spellcast right away is awesome. I don't like that using Divine Sense will cost a Channel Divinity charge once I get it, but I think the tradeoff is overall more fun.
Same here, I like the new rules they seem to encouperate a lot of the home rules folks were using, also it seems backward compatable such as the new books work fine with Tashas and the old 5e adventures. I have started slow rolling the new changes into my exsiting Exandria campaign. So far no issues.
Only I still do crunchy crits (max damage plus dice roll). Crits can be underwhelming if you roll like a 1 and a 3 ect.
weapon masteries are nice, other than that I don't feel much difference yet^^

Rage has a nice upgrade of continuing it outside of combat as you can just choose to keep it going (BA technically, but I have nothing else that uses it anyway). A masteries are nice too
Yes. Yes he did. (well it might have been worth something?). In his defence, he is still raging, so that probably clouds his thoughts. And a plate is a plate. When Chromir thinks of treasure, a plate does not come to his mind.

Chromir has a negative int modifier. To him, it was probably silver coloured but cheap. He doesn't pay for plates, so they can't be expensive (bad logic. But to him it is amazing logic)
Yay!! Giving Cass the protection fighting style because it fits his character: When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can take a Reaction to interpose your Shield if you’re holding one. You impose Disadvantage on the triggering attack roll and all other attack rolls against the target until the start of your next turn if you remain within 5 feet of the target.

Very lucky indeed. Chromir would have had to stab with a javelin to do any damage. Or punch it....

Investigation is not really the appropriate skill for the last few 'I look at something, please tell me if I notice anything' instances of its use.
I don't mind if folks add in a preemptive roll with their posts, but I do find it helpful if they explain in the IC (or OOC) what they are after.
Congrats on our first successful adventure, gang!
