The cultists have set up their camp in the hollow of a rocky plateau that’s shaped roughly like a horseshoe. The lower portion of the plateau rises gently from the surrounding land, but it quickly steepens. Boulders form jumbled heaps at the bases of the cliffs. The level shelves and top of the plateau are covered in long grass, and brush and scrubby trees grow in patches. Up ahead you can see a guard tower and a few people around it. They don't wear the similar robes from before but don't look welcoming at all. The fires in the camp have died down as dawn started to come.
From vantage point that they have selected Graxian watches the camp to learn as much as he can about it.
Quietly he whispers to the others, "We have not been sent to attack this camp, but to see where the cultist came from. We have now gained that knowledge. We should return to Nighthill, as he requested, with the information that we have learned. Come daylight we will be hard pressed to remain hidden from so many."
"We should look for Brother Leosin. If he is here then I do not know how long these cultists will keep him alive." Z'ress says as she keeps her hand on her staff, scanning the campm
Reso nods. "Agreed. It would be foolish for us to stay here - with only four of us against so many. I can fly ahead to deliver the information. If there are any cultists on the road back, I can try and divert them."

"I agree with Graxian and Reso." J'eilil tells them. "As much as I want to look for Brother Leosin, it's too dangerous for us to stay here. We would never win a fight against this many."

"We need the cover of darkness to move away from here. I too would like to find brother Leosin. But we are more likely to be made prisoner with him, if he is here, than free him."
Following the way they approached, Graxian will begin to back away from the spot they are watching the camp.
(Just a heads up, most of the raiders look like mercenaries or bandits. Some stragglers hail the guards and they let them through. A caveat of being a large group is not knowing everyone.)
"Does any of the cultist in the camp know any of your faces? We could look outside the camp for any more stragglers or small patrol group and subdue and question them how the inner workings of this camp is. Maybe we could pretend to be one of them." Gurth point at the scruffy lad that just entered the camp.
"That we could. But we would have to be careful not to pick up the regular cultitsts as they are more diffuclt tomwork with from prior experience. With ebough gold we could even perhaps convince some of them to talk with us much more easily." Z'ress suggestsl
Seeing the new development Graxian holds on for a moment.
"Well, Reso here fought one on one a dragonborn that seemed to be their leader. He would likely be recognized. That and the aarakocra can hardly hide in plain sight. Whether the rest of us would be recognized is hard to say but unlikely."
He considers a moment.
"It's possible, seeing as how they seem to let anyone in the camp that appears to belong, we could send a couple of us down there to scout it out and then leave and have better info to report back to Nighthill."
"If you want to investigate, you can. As you said, I would likely be recognized but I can hide in the shadows. If someone recognizes me, I can fly away and keep my distance from you."

"Well I may also stick out due to having drow blood but it would be easy to pass off as a mercenary. I have met some monks who fled the monasteries to become adventures and some that go down a worse path." Z'ress says.
J'eilil wakes up, sitting up and stretching. She looks to the others to see if they have awoken as well.

Z'ress wakes and stretches out, readying herself to move on as she eats quick meal of rations.
Reso wakes up and looks at each of his companions before undergoing a quick stretching workout and meditation.

In the morning after awakening earlier than the others Graxian spends time in meditation. When he is finished he rejoins the others.
"We are close to our quarry. We should move more carefully today so as not to alert them to our presence. "
When they are ready to go he will move to follow the trail again.
"Indeed it could turn ugly if they notice our existence" Gurth lead them where he last saw them cultist camp.
