Abathax has a look to the range of weapons and will be selling 5 javelins, 1 Warhammer and buying 4 daggers to have dexterity range options when wielding shield.
"Thank you, good sir. These weapons look sublime. I'll keep you in mind if I need anything more suited to myself. Maybe you could help me with something else. Do you know anything About the history of that manor that looks like a circus. It looks to have seen a lot?"
After hearing the answer (and maybe having some extra questions depending on the answers) he heads out together with Aralia. At the carpenter he happily pays extra, as he already owns a regular shield.

Aralia gratefully thanks Abathax and agrees to pay him back asap. The magnifying glass does have a lot of sentimental value, not to mention practical use.
Mr Barrin happily buys all of Abathax's javelins and the warhammer. 'These weapons may not be metal, but the wood can make fine shafts for ones that are,' he says as he takes the javelins and hands over a small sack with 15 GP for the warhammer, and then an additional 25 SP for the five javelins, all inside. However, when Abathax goes to buy four daggers, the smith only has one premade in stock. He apologises, saying 'We keep supply low to encourage commissions, sorry son,' and then sells him a singular dagger for 2 GP, telling him that he can come back again later and they can have some more ready for him if needed. [So, a total earning of 15 GP and 5 SP, with the 2 GP of the dagger subtracted]
Barrin then answers Abathax's question as he hands over the dagger, idly responding 'Oh, Caravatch's place? Most I know is that it wasn't his originally, he bought it up when he got rich off of selling the legend of the Balowang, but then again, the boom in adventurers is the reason my family and I moved into town to start up business here, seeing as weaponry was in higher demand, so I can't judge at all, and wasn't around these parts before hand to know anything about the previous owners of the place.' Whether or not Abathax has any further questions, he then later pays at the carpenters for the production of both the shields for 120 GP with the abundant money that he has, saving Aralia from having to pawn her precious magnifying glass. The carpenter assures you that both the pit and your money is in good hands, before setting off into town to purchase the required magical lacquers from the town's small hardware store, just after telling you that he will happily keep hold of the shields in his shack if you won't be available to collect them at an earlier date, seeing as you'll be away.
"Ah oke, do you know of anyone who was around before he brought it?" Abathax asks the dwarf after thanking him for the first dagger ensuring him he'll be back for more. (inventory has been updated)

Silvosh enjoys her trip around the town. She looks in at the busier tavern, but doesn't at all regret staying in the inn at the edge of town. The outdoor seating was much more appropriate for someone with her build.
Aralia listens to Abathax's conversation with Barrin with interest. Learning more about the house's history could certainly prove interesting, even if it isn't directly related to their mission.

Barrin sighs and strokes his beard, thinking for a moment before saying 'Ahh, no, I can't say I do, I'm not exactly social with the townsfolk, and all of my friends across in the Western Hills couldn't care less about urban business. If you're that interested, I'd try talking to some of the older folk about town who are more likely to remember it. Brimbul bought the house about 20 years ago I believe, so any older human or halfling, heck, even any local dwarf or elf, should have been around to have some stronger memories of the previous owner.' His son then calls him back to the forge to help remove a rather hefty axe head, so he bids you goodbye and gets back to work.
After having been to the carpenter Abathax will look around for shops with elven or dwarven shopkeepers.

The party's tiefling pair continue their journey about town, now visiting any shops they find and seeing if they can identify any dwarven or elvish shopkeepers within to question them about the history of Mahogany House. They peer through windows, and if they can't immediately tell who runs the shop, they head indoors to investigate further. The majority of the shops are ran by humans, though the very few that are ran by dwarves (there seem to be no elven shops about) are unwilling to stop working to simply chat, and are more interested in capitalising on the midday rush of customers. The only dwarf around town that you think may be willing to chat at this time of day would be Calwit back at The Dead Man's Wages, since the tavern doesn't particularly attract many customers earlier in the day, and you are on familiar, if not friendly terms with him already.
"Back to Calwit, then? I'm sure he'll appreciate the business," Aralia remarks to Abathax as they pass busier establishments, "And I wouldn't mind a drink after that search. My treat."
"sure thing, and a drink is always good" Abathax agrees

The pair then leaved the cobbled streets of town to head to the northern outskirts. The houses melt away and soon you are back on the humble pathway leading to The Dead Man's Wages. The front garden is unoccupied, and when you enter inside, you find a similar scenario within. The tavern is only currently serving three tables; one with an exhausted halfling mother and her 5 energetic children, who seems to have came here to save on additional housework from making a lunch for such a large family, one with a frantic dark-haired human who is darting between three different scrolls laid out on a table, trying to charter information and tally calculations whilst forcing down a pint of ale and a pie, likely still working through a short lunch break, and one final table in the corner with a single, cloaked and hooded figure, who is idly rested against a wall, the rim of his tankard disappearing beneath the brim of his hood every so often so the figure can take a sip.
All of these tables are easily catered to by the several human waitresses that flit about the room to assure everything is to the small base of customer's liking, which leaves Calwit, still behind the bar, with little to do, making him extremely grateful to spot you coming through the door. 'Ah, greetings! So nice to see the pair of you so shortly after your departure this morning!' he calls with his typical bellowing laugh, 'What may I do for you?'
"Well first of all, an ale for the both of us, and hopefully you'd be willing to answer a few questions about the circuslike home of the town." Abathax answers.
