Ok, the entire kobold lair is on a grid, and where you move will affect how far you can see. Declare your moves as if you were in battle, but we're not going to rely on turn-based posting unless you enter a battle. I have separate range views for Kasi, Sharn and Hastos, which I will integrate if you split up.
For the purposes of meta-game prevention, I've put the map in a spoiler. Obviously, anyone can look at it, but Merkas and Sera should be played as if they cannot see. In a natural cave setting, with no light, you can't even see your hand in front of your face. So you don't even have 5' visual. If you prefer not to light a candle, torch, sword, or cast a spell, you're welcome to hold hands to stay together, or roll perception checks to guide yourself with sound, smell, and touch. Any result below 5 and you are disoriented.
The entrance to the cave is smooth and well-worn, but some avenues are considered difficult terrain. Especially in the lower floors. Watch your step! If you can.
Hastos first at slow and careful walk. Looking for traps.
Sera walk 10 feet behind. The shed light and hopefully not get affekted by traps. Sharn follow 5 feet behind and Merkas and Kasi stealth about 15 feet behind Sharn.
This lessen the risk of wrong person moving up front. Step in trap and perhaps get in frontline at combat.
It slso lessen the risk of area attacks like oil, caltrops, bag of scorpions and gods know what we be attacked with.
If Kasi is in the back, she will keep a readied called shot to fire at a kobold's feet and do nonlethal damage. If the target is not a kobold or kobold-kin, she will shoot to kill.
Hastos and Sharn aren't restricted to movement in the light. So, if you wish for the characters to pull ahead further, I have vision boundaries established for them.
I have to imagine that elf butts tend to be juicy peaches, while orc butts are clearly firm bubbles. 🤭
I guess dwarf butts are hard as a rock and covered in fuzz, and kender butts... probably frog butts. 😂 Kobold tails don't leave much room for cake. Pants would just slide right off without the tail to keep them in place. Do you think kobolds have to wear suspenders?
HA! I updated Kasi's image in the bio on Campaign Notes.
I got rid of the extra arrows, fixed her grip so she's actually holding the bow, and added a bowstring! I kept her uneven digits, because she was disfigured in battle long ago, so I think the antisymmetric look serves to tell that tale.
And yes, credit goes to Larskolstad. It would seem Sera and I both have a mild obsession with butts. 🤭
Oh! I didn't notice your roll! I don't get any alerts when you roll, so it helps to claim them with your posts in IC. An Investigation check like that just saved you a broken nose, tbh, and prevented the kobolds from finding out you're there. 😅
I rolled the dice and scored max damage. I wasn't expecting that, so I'm glad you're about to be fine.
For the amusement of the group, it really doesn't translate well. But it's an idiom commonly used to tell someone to leave, but rudely. Like, "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya'!" kind of energy. However, pronounced a slightly different way, it's an open threat to leave or be killed, and is much more menacing. Either way, there is a barking sound in the pronunciation that is similar to the work "bonk" or even more closely, a "gong" in it. It all comes together when the wall hits someone with significant force, doing damage to the victim, while also gonging an alarm to alert the community that someone is trespassing.
Max damage from the trap was 10, and it would've done max damage had I not known about the Investigation check. A crit would've shoved you back over that trip wire. It's a pretty embarrassing way to get wrecked.
Yea, the cursing was hilarious!

For the march order?

She looks cool. Now I do remember Gremlins. She kinda look a lil bit evil? :)
To be fair, Hastos' butt is so firm that when he walks it sounds like he's twisting a leather glove.

So Merkas has his own light source now, that way the rest of the group can all move at their own pace with everyone being able to see on their own.
