Kalyth takes a deep breath, then explains who - or rather what - is the Lord of Blades. "Stalking the Mournland like a spectral juggernaut, the Lord of Blades emerged from the turmoil of the Last War as a symbol that calls to all the warforged of Khorvaire. Regardless of what they may have become, warforged were created to fight and die on the orders of their creators. Some warforged accept their history for what it is and look toward the future, like Mercy and their pilgrims, but others hold a grudge because of how they were exploited by their creators. Those warforged make up the followers of the Lord of Blades. The warforged that follow the Lord of Blades patrol this devastated terrain and salvage resources from the ashes of Cyre. Most of these dissidents despise creatures of flesh, and any meeting with us usually ends in blood being spilled..."
It is late in the day when you begin your return journey to Ialos. Even though you feel assured of the way, direction here is warped, and the light fades to a murky night. The dancing mists faintly glow with the light of a moon you cannot see, but not enough to see beyond five to ten feet. You hear the heavy footsteps of a large creature approaching you through the night, then a mighty roar before it charges into your midst! (Roll initiative! You are fighting in a heavily obscured area due to darkness and fog, effectively giving you the Blinded condition.)
OK - here's how I'm going to adapt the blindness condition. You have disadvantage on any attacks beyond 5ft. You cannot attack anything beyond 20ft because the mist dampens sound and smell. (That usually keeps you safe from the predators, but you and this creature just happened to stumble upon each other!) Because you heard the creature, it is within 20ft of you, and you know its general direction, so you CAN attack but at disadvantage. Also, moving around in the mist will have a chance of you going not quite where you thought you were going...
