Lyrena swears colorfully as she's all but gored by the star angler, and makes a decision. No more holding back. The Astral Plane is pure thought. She'll give this thing thought.
She utters an incantation, and a translucent, shimmering lance appears from nowhere, as if she's spoken it into existence. It flies directly into the star angler.

The combination of psychic lance and paladin strikes end this threat to the group - you will not repeat Jonah's tale today!! (combat over!)
Floating together again, the group continues to move towards the rock-like body of the dead god. The stony mass isn’t a planet or an asteroid, but a colossal creature that appears lifeless. Shattered ribs arch over the creature’s mossy spine, and the air crackles with decaying magic. Among the bones is the shipwreck of a large galleon broken into three large chunks: the sterncastle, nestled in the corpse’s hip bones; the starboard section, embedded in the ribcage; and the prow, stabbed into the creature’s heart.
As you approach the stern segment, Davis senses through the rod segment that senses that the next piece is located somewhere in the ship’s wreckage. You can approach the segments in whichever order you like!
"Well?" Vanizi says. "Should we start at the aft and work to the bow? Feels like the aft of the ship is where important stuff would be located." She then laughs. "Although I've not really been on ships much!"
"Oh aft...yeah is okay I think. I thought you said something else, cause it's like back of the ship or something I guess I don't know. Want a brownie?" Zyl pulls out one from her somewhere and offers it to Vanizi.
"A brownie? You're actually offering me one? Yes! I'll definitely take one." She reaches to take it, looking it over. "They look good.'" She quickly eats it, continuing to speak even before she finished it. "Mmmm, good."
The largest piece of the wreck, the stern segment, is nestled in what looks like the dead god's hip bones. The segments of the broken spelljammer ship are about 300 feet from each other, and you can catch hints of movement in the areas between...like the terrestrial oceans the Astral Sea is often compared to, there are likely predators lurking in the area! As you approach, you see that you can land on the sterncastle deck (area Z1a). Map
The areas of the Lambent Zenith’s wreckage have the following features:
Gravity. The wreck and the areas around it have normal gravity.
Lighting. Unless otherwise stated, the ambient silvery glow of the Astral Sea fills the wreck, rendering its areas brightly lit.
Walls, Ceilings, and Floors. The floors and walls of the ship are made from faded blue wood. The ceilings of the ship’s lower decks are 10 feet high.
Davis will check the rod, making sure they continue to head in the correct direction. [I'll just assume you'll let us know if we veer off course of the rod and I won't mention it every post :) ]
"How is everyone holding up after those flying, eh floating? fish?" Davis asks. "If a few are injured, I could do a group heal before we press on? I could use a bit myself."
"I'm okay! Here, you feel better after a brownie too." Zyl will throw another brownie at Davis and land on the ship and take a look around the immediate area.

Lyrena, though she's looking very much the worse for wear, says nothing. Looking relieved at the return of gravity, she scans the area for anything notable.
Scraps of golden sails dangle from the sterncastle’s ruined mast. As you look around the deck, two armored githyanki emerge from the deck and below, silver swords at their hips.
"Ahoy, there! State yer intentions afore ye be granted permission to come aboard," one calls out.
"Ahoy!" Vanizi calls out. She hadn't really expected to run into people out here but is intrigued to see what this pair is up to. "Is this your ship? Or... was... It seems to have come upon hard times. My name is Vanizi and it is quite a pleasure to make your acquaintance." She steps a bit closer to the pair. "We are here looking for an important artifact. Perhaps you could help us out?"
The female githyanki greets Vanizi with a slight bow. "Hail and well met, Vanizi. I am Lysan and this here is Zastra. Welcome aboard the Lambent Zenith. Our mission was to herald hope, community, and order across the multiverse - but the mission came to an end a few months ago when we collided with the body of this dying god..."
Zastra follows up in an attempt to answer your question. "Artifact, huh? Well, the ship’s prow was outfitted with fancy magic stuff that let us move around the 'verses, and we carried a lot of cargo - some magical. Perhaps what you seek was in that? You'll have to talk with Ilren, who stepped in as our interim leader when the first mate fell ill. We haven’t heard from Captain Inda, who probably died during the crash but may be stranded elsewhere in the wreckage."He points towards the other segments of the ship. "But...the areas between the segments are teeming with hungry astral predators. After Smitty, we don't risk traveling between the segments no more." He then calls down into the lower decks for Ilren.
Vanizi gives the pair a smile. "Good to meet you Lysan. And you as well Zastra. Your Lambent Zenith looks like it must have been pretty impressive. Before the... uh... collision I mean." She moves a hand towards Davis. "This here is Davis. He's the one that knows the most about where this thing might be. It's a piece of a rod. It might not seem like much. Anyhow, maybe we ought to go talk to Ilren?"
While they wait, the half-orc continues. "What do you and the crew all plan to do? Is there some way to get out of here? Or repair your ship?"
"Hi there! I'm Zyl! Want a brownie? I got a ship too but I dunno if it is this fancy. It's not broken though. I don't think. But yeah, we're here for the stick!"Zyl smiled widely, proud of herself for remembering the stick.
Zastra responds to the latest question from Vanizi. "We were trying to determine if any of the other crew members survived to put together an escape plan. But the ship's magic malfunctioned when we crashed, and now teleportation magic used within the wreck is warped. We haven't been able to go to the other segments because we were recently plagued by aberrant monsters such as cloakers...you'll have to talk with the second mate, Kycera, in the galley."DC 14 Insight check:
The two seem uneasy about something. They will admit that the camp’s interim leader, Ilren, and the Lambent Zenith’s first mate, Figaro, would have more information. However, Figaro has been acting paranoid of late and refuses to leave his quarters.
A few moments later, a boisterous giff—a bulky individual with a head similar to that of a hippopotamus—wearing a sleek red coat steps out from a door leading out of the ship. "Who do we have here, Lysan? Adventurers, you say? Looking for some kind of magic rod? I used to be an adventurer like you, until my skiff crashed into this rock. Unfortunately, nothing of that skiff remains. You are welcome to explore the Lambent Zenith’s wreck - make yourselves at home, since this is likely to be your home from now on..." He barks a bitter laugh. DC17 Insight check:
You intuit that Ilren’s jolly demeanor belies a suspicious and cold attitude.

Landing on the sterncastle, Vanizi looks about. "Guess we take it level by level?" She sees little here and so starts to head down the stairs.
