As Otbium gathers the energy in his hands, an urgent whisper cries out in Vazo'yn's mind, "Duck!" He does so and barely manages to slip under the worst of the streak of lightning that flew at him. The smell of burning hair wafts off him as he recovers from the jolt of electricity.
Feeling his connection to the spirits and the Weave fully restored and seeing Riven turn his attention to one of the pillars, Vazo'yn focuses on the final one. He whispers the incantation and a grey mist falls from his mouth before swiftly floating across the floor to each of his allies he can see. The mist coalesces around each of them and is oddly comforting as its refreshing cool touch mends their wounds. Then he disappears into the mist and reappears within Joy's radiant presence.
"Riven, see us through this as you have every other challenge!"
Action: Mass Cure Wounds. 37 HP to everyone but Ylis. Bonus Action: D12 Bardic Inspiration to Riven. Teleport to be on the edge of Joy's aura.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
DM: Randa, I think I need a Dexterity Saving Throw from you still. DC 22. Joy's aura was too far away to have benefit from it when the Chain Lighting was cast. Chain Lighting has bounced to you during that time. On failure, you will take 46 Lighting Damage and half as much on success.
OOC Sorry! My mistake. He'll cast Mass Cure Wounds instead. I'll adjust the narrative in my previous post, but to add the numbers here, everyone but Ylis can take 37 HP of healing.
Jack feels the words of the mad god press down on his soul. He can feel the will to live ebb like the outgoing tide. There really is no reason to fight. All it can do is cause more pain before the inevitable end. Lightning leaps across the party, leaving spider web burns on the skin of most of the Fellowship.
Then, a powerful anger wells up within him. Lily. Otbium hurt Lily, a person who Jack has come to care for a great deal in their time together. She was alive, of course. The bodies familiars have while on the material plane are constructed purely from the arcane. But that, in some ways, can be worse. She felt herself die and death, even when you survive it, is traumatic. No doubt she is in the Feywild now, also feeling the pain of failure and the anguish of knowing she was not useful to Jack. Otbium did this. He hurt Lily.
In a burst of raging defiance, Jack throws off the heavy blanket of hopelessness on his mind as he sees Joy fly back onto the summit with her flying steed. He immediately throws himself into not just giving the mad god a good fight, but to beat him. Beat him as a mortal, the very thing beneath Otbium’s contempt. Jack fires off a Counterspell, which is resisted. The fiery eye beams blast him in the chest. Whatever. He can still win. Jack pops the protective bubble around the northwest pillar and sends the Air Elemental in after it. It batters the pillar, even though its form struggles to maintain cohesion from the lighting.
Joy soars in the air over Jack’s head and lands, practically thrown from her mount as she heals Randa. As Randa shadows snap back together, she stands and immediately aims her bow at the pillar that the Air Elemental was smashing. Her arrows are like hammers, pounding away at the pillar – arrow after arrow – until finally, the runes go out on the northwest pillar and the pillar explodes from the force of the super charged arrows.
Otbium shrieks as the pillar releases the power held within and is absorbed by the remaining pillars. That shriek is cut off sharply as Ylis rushes in and claps Otbium hard in the jaw. Otbium Teleports to the space adjacent to Ylis.
DM: Ylis, you take 11 Necrotic Damage as he teleports.
He immediately turns to deliver a lethal kick to her low-hanging head, but before he can even shift his weight appropriately, Giles is on him from behind, savagely delivering some kidney punches that would have earned him an immediate disqualification in a rank fight. Otbium teleports again, this time adjacent to Giles, but still near Ylis.
DM: Giles, you take 11 Necrotic Damage as he teleports.
Giles pushes through and delivers a couple of snappy kicks to the hamstring of the god, which cause him to stand on a big of an unsteady stance. His balance broken, Ylis rushes in and clobbers the shins with her magically charged staff, blowing his legs out from under him and forcing him to land face first into the dirt. Never one to miss an opportunity, Giles increases his tournament violations with an axe-kick to the back of Otbium’s head just as he begins to raise it, smashing the head into the ground. Giles might just grind the face into the dirt for added insult. Ylis leaps to safety immediately after this, landing at the unprotected northeast pillar.
Riven takes the most practical action, having his strength cut in half and doesn’t use it. Instead, he leans on his wisdom, neutralizing the invulnerable barrier that shields the northeast pillar. Noting Otbium’s history of immediately attacking the person who targets these piles of shaped stones, he immediately blinks out of the way, reappearing next to Joy and Randa. He feels his strength return to him.
Otbium rages from his place on the floor and glares at the growing collection of mortal meddlers. The pressure in the air changes noticeably around Jack, Riven, Joy, and Randa, as the unholy energy of the deeper parts of the mountain rise up from the cracks Otbium made earlier and blast the grouped up party members.
DM: I need a Constitution Saving Throw from Jack, Riven, Joy, and Randa, DC 22. On failure, you take 31 points of Necrotic Damage. On success, you take 15 points of Necrotic Damage.
Vazo’yn trembles from the lighting, but he did manage to avoid the worst of it due to his own exceptional acrobatic talents. He wastes no time and lends a healing hand to most of the party, which has clustered together near the origin of the glowing Pattern. Vazo’yn knows what is coming and teleports himself away, but hoping to still be close enough to benefit from Joy’s divine aura.
A tear in reality opens and an icy, inky blackness spills out before the party. Unspeakable horrors can be heard whispering in the darkness as it envelops the party. Even Vazo’yn is captured in the inky blackness.
DM: Casting Hunger of Hadar. All within (Jack, Rive, Joy, Randa, and Vazo’yn) will experience Difficult Terrain and the Blinded Condition (except those with True Sight). Upon the start of your turn, take 7 Cold Damage. If you end your turn within, you will need to make a Dexterity Saving Throw or take an additional 7 Acid Damage.
The summit darkens slightly as a protective bubble forms around Otbium. Ylis and Giles kick back from the formation, now being very familiar what happens if they strike him. With the moment to get his bearings, Otbium stands. His wounds begin to heal noticeably. “I will not allow you to merely die. I will stretch your souls to their breaking point. I will give you pained experiences that you never knew were possible. I will torment you for all time and you will pray to me to deliver you to the void, the nothingness, absolute erasure. I will never answer this prayer with anything but more pain.”
DM: @everyone. If Otbium is targeted by an attack of any kind, you must make a Wisdom Saving Throw for the first attack as a dominated spirit leaps into your body. On failure, you immediately lose all remaining Action Economy, including subsequent Attacks, for the rest of your turn. You keep movement. On success, you resist the effects.
Otbium looks to the Air Elemental standing over the crumbled pillar. “Your soul is mine.” Dark energy apparates before Otbium and launches at the Air Elemental.
DM: I need a Constitution Saving Throw, DC 22 from the Air Elemental. On failure, it will take 61 points of Necrotic Damage, or 30points of Necrotic Damage on success. If a creature has their hit points reach 0 from this Action, it is immediately resurrected under Otbium’s control, that acts after Otbium’s turn. Assuming this is the case, Otbium orders the new slave. “Kill the bunny.” If the creature is under his control, the Air Elemental will fly to Ylis and perform a Whirlwind. Strength Saving Throw, DC 13. On Failure, Yliswill experience 24Thunder Damage, will be pushed 20ft away, and have the Prone Condition. On Success, she will experience half damage. This would be a strong wind, so it will blow the Butterflies away on success or failure. If the Air Elemental is not reduced to 0 hit points, then none of this happens.
Only Jack can see it, but Otbium stares right at the party. “You.” he says, pointing at Randa. He reaches out into her mind and assaults her psyche.
DM: Randa, you are targeted by a Ranged Spell Attack. 24to hit, 28Psychic Damage, and your attacks will do half damage. A Lesser Restoration will end this affliction early.
Otbium then looks at Joy and Jack. Beams fire out from his head and arc in incongruent patterns, one for each person.
DM: Jack, this is a 16to hit with a Spell Attack. 35Fire damage and the fire climbs up your body. If you take an Action and a Bonus Action on your turn, you will take an additional 17Fire Damage before the flames die out.
DM: Joy, this is a 25to hit with a Spell Attack. 39Fire damage and the fire climbs up your body. If you take an Action and a Bonus Action on your turn, you will take an additional 19Fire Damage before the flames die out.
DM: Any Reactions that anyone wants to do, go ahead and post them separately with 'Reaction' starting it off so I can easily search for those in the coming flurry of posts.
Damage Summary: 7 necrotic (resistance)+7 cold+39 fire= 53 damage - 10 healing from Imbued Aura= 43 damage. Joy is at 131/181. Milton takes 7 cold damage, bringing him to 48/55 (he gets 5+10 HP per spell level, which was 5).))
Joy steels herself and her allies against the necrotic blast, barely flinching as it starts to eat at her flesh. The cold and darkness that follows is met with similar results, in addition to her frowning in frustration. The unearthly fire--now that hurts, but only serves to raise her ire at the empty god further.
"Enough. Let's smash the rest of his pillars and end this."
She grips her sword hilt, giving a calm, focused breath as the sun blade forms and the flames lick at her further before burning out. She mounts Milton again and the steed dashes out of the orb of whispering darkness, making a beeline for the southwest pillar.
Milton Action: move to southwest pillar, Dodge (only affects himself)
Action: Sun Blade on pillar to hit nat 20+11, damage 16 radiant + 7 radiant strikes= 23
Extra attack to hit 28, 7 radiant+ 7 radiant strikes= 14 radiant damage

(If the southwest pillar is destroyed by this, she will Blink Step to be adjacent to Otbium, leaving Milton in the southwest as I don't think that feature will let him go with her.)
