Bear stands up, having just finished her meal as well. She walks over to her greataxe, and picks it up, turning to Danvi. "I'll take you up on that. I found my performance sub-par back there too."
Garadd, Gauthak, and Signe decide to watch, while Gretu, Marakhad, and Nuras decide to turn to their prior activities.

After feeding, Jethro takes a rag to clean his bowl, placing it back in the chest. "Thanks for the meal..." He says quietly as he ties up the chest again. He will stay up for the first watch while the others get some rest.
Taking his place opposite Bear in a hastily designated sparring circle in the cave, Danvi closed his eyes and focused himself on winning this battle. He locked eyes with Bear. "Come when you are ready, my friend."
Bear stands at the far end of the circle. As soon as Danvi looks ready, she launches herself forward with a powerful battlecry as the air becomes a little colder around her. Though Danvi brings his arm to defend against the incoming greataxe, Bear's sheer anger powers through his defence, and she strikes him.

Surprised at Bear's sudden attack, Danvi took the full blow, a slight gash appearing on his forearm. Dropping down to counter attack, he attempted to sweep Bear's legs out from under her, but was met with the solid resistance of a rock wall. Thrusting upward with his rapier, he missed his main target, merely cutting off a lock of Bear's hair. Bouncing back to his feet, Danvi readied himself for Bear's next attack.
Spinning away from Bear's axe, Danvi lashed out with his rapier, catching Bear's arm with the tip of his blade. He danced away, preparing to attack once more.
[Spending 1 ki point to take the Disengage action as a bonus action. 9 piercing damage on Bear.]
Jethro notices nothing in the night sky, or on the ground, other than the continuing snow storm.
Some of the onlookers of Bear and Danvi's duel begin whispering and placing bets among themselves as to who will win the duel, right as bear swings her axe once more, using its weight to launch herself towards Danvi before he can defend himself.

Taking the last hit from Bear, Danvi recognized how close he was to unconsciousness. Straightening up, he addressed Bear directly. "I believe that continuing this will result in my defeat. I thank you for indulging me in my request, and I apologize for not being able to put up as much of a fight as I'd have wanted to. It seems I still have much to work on." He bowed respectfully before sheathing his rapier and leaving the circle. He returned to his previous position to rest from the sparring match and to go over his mistakes.

Once the sparring match is completed, Jethro stands up from his seat upon his chest. He steps over to Danvi, seeing the wounds upon him. With a couple of uttered words and placing his hand upon the wound, a minor amount of healing passes onto his companion. He then returns to his seat.
Cure Wounds: Heals 5 hit points (rolled in Discord).

Raviel accepts the food with gratitude and watches the match. Afterwards he sets up an alarm spell near the entrance of the cave setting it to create sound if anybody not part of the group enters it. He then summons an Unseen Servant to set up his tent as he sets up another alarm, this one set to a telepathic signal, around it. When all is done he wishes everyone good night and heads in to go to sleep in his bedroll with blanket. Talon, being a fey spirit and not needing to sleep, finds a place to perch and keep watch.
Two Alarm spells ritually cast. First is at the cave entrance set to trigger an audible alarm if any creature not in the group of size Small or greater enters the cave. The second is around his tent and is set to send him a mental signal which automatically wakes him if anybody that is not him or his familiar enters it. Unseen Servant was also cast ritually.
Talon perception check: (dim light may pose disadvantage but he has Keen Sight which gives advantage so this is rolled as a straight check with +4 mod: 16

Silver changes hands almost immediately after it is called, and the group all sets off to perform their regular nightly rituals. With nothing disturbing Raviel's alarms or being spotted by those on watch, morning comes with no apparent issue.
Nuras enters the cavern come morning, with good news. "I've done some brief scouting, and with luck, we will make our goal before noon. If we're efficient, we'll be back in town two days from now. I suppose it's about time I told you what we're here for, too. While there is a star up here, and it'd be nice to grab that, the real goal is the collection of a herb I need for a project I'm working on. Unfortunately, it harms dragons with mere contact, and I need such a large amount I needed at least a handful of people to help me collect it. The ogres we fought yesterday were the main roadblock to just bringing a group of regular folk up the mountain to help me. we shall set out when you are all ready."
Signe, Garadd, Bear, and Gretu look a little disappointed by the 'real goal' of the climb, but clearly seem nervously excited by the prospect of encountering a star - a nervous excitement shared by Gauthak and Marakhad as well.

Jethro wraps the chain around his chest again, hoisting it onto his back as he joins the others in following Nuras' directions. This alternate quest is not to his liking however, and he would very much like to see the star as they ascend. (Nature check to know about the herb?)
"What does this herb look like? And, if I may ask, why do you need it? I merely wish to satiate my own curiosity," Danvi asked Nuras as the group climbed higher up the mountain.
As the group heads out, the continued snowstorm draws sighs from most, though Bear and Gauthak seem quite at home, and Signe seems not nearly as displeased as the others.
In response to Danvi, Nuras pauses briefly, pondering his response before answering and moving again. "The herb has several subspecies, each with a different type of leaf. Each type looks like the head of a particular type of dragon, in profile, mirrored across the jawline down, hence the herb's name - Dragon's Skull. I believe the particular one on this mountain is Blue Dragon's Skull, as in the head of a blue dragon, not the colour blue. As to why I need it, I'm making a magic item, and one of the ingredients for a particular element of the creation process calls for the use of quite a large amount of Dragon's Skull."
Suddenly, he turns his head, and launches into the air, deviating from the current trajectory of the group. "The star's this way. There are a couple of those star beasts around it."
As the group follows, they see Nuras exhale a could of poisonous gas over an overhang, and once they reach it's peak, they see the star and two starbeasts, who seem to be looking at the overhang (though it is hard to tell thanks to a lack of any sort of obvious face). The star is approximately 10 feet behind the starbeasts.

Signe glanced at Danvi and nodded before the two charged to engage the first starbeast. As they rushed forward, Signe hastened the normal mage armor he used to prepare for closer combat. When the two got within 10 feet of the starbeast, he launched a bolt of lightning to drag the starbeast closer.
Action:Lightning Lure against Starbeast 1 (Save DC: 14; 6 lightning damage on a failed save).
Movement: 4 squares north; if lightning lure fails, 2 more squares north.
Bonus Action: Quickened Spell on mage armor, raising AC to 17.
Danvi:
Seeing the starbeasts before them, Danvi's hand flew to the bundle on his back. "I will treat this fight as if it is a matter of life and death." Unfurling it in a somewhat dramatic fashion, he produced a double-bladed scimitar. Nodding to Signe, he rushed forward in tandem with his fellow elf to attack the starbeast on the left. He swung twice with his previously unseen weapon, working with Signe to land more precise hits.
Action: Attack with double-bladed scimitar (15 to hit, 13 slashing damage).
Movement: 4 squares north; if Signe's lightning lure fails: 2 more squares north.
Bonus Action: Attack with other side of double-bladed scimitar (11 to hit, 5 slashing damage).
Raviel woke from his strange dreams, curious as to whether any of them would turn out to be prophetic. The gift of precogntion was rarely straightforward. He ritually brought about his unseen servant to pack up his belongings. He listened to Nuras explain their "real" reason - unhappy about it but hey, he got to work with a DRAGON and there is a fallen star? The mind swirls about what this can mean. He silently made his way with the group, Talon upon his shoulder, when things took a dangerous turn. Star beasts. The star itself nearby. Interesting.
