Myr asks, "Is there a general store in town where we can stock up on trail rations and other sundries? I expect prices in the dungeon to be a bit higher than outside."
I find starting with a strong premise can really help get things going initially. Like maybe an area was inaccessible because of a magical curse that has just lifted, and suddenly all these adventuring guilds are jockeying to be the first to explore the ancient ruins of their ancestors in a perilous wilderness that's been evolving for 3000 years or whatever. Then you can have rival adventuring parties a plenty, racing to find new sites, etc. And by looting the ancient civilization of your ancestors it's not really a settler colonial thinghttps://tutuapp.uno/ .
"No," Agrix replies, "This place is too small to have anything like that. If you're looking for food, you could probably buy straight from the townspeople. They should have salted meats and the like. If you want weapons, that smithy should have you covered for most everything y'all would expect. And if you want anything more specialized, I'd recomend heading over to Aben Shriri. You should be able to get most things you're looking for there. Also, if this dungeon is big enough, a bit of a micro-economy will pop up to serve you adventurers. There's usually enough competition to keep prices decently close to market value, so I wouldn't worry about needing to make trips to Shriri constantly."
Myr also gets up and gathers her gear, "I have a weeks worth of rations in my backpack, how about the rest of you? Also, if we find food in the dungeon, I can purify it."
"For the time being, I think we have nothing to worry about."
OOC: Unless the situation makes it impossible for Corgan to do so, he will cast Create or Destroy Water to keep his skin moist and to fill the party water skins.

"............anybody got any potatoes? We could drop a potato in each hole an' see which ones get viciously mauled by horrible monsters?"
Lyssa is met with a mixed response. "The stuff here doesn't keep long-term. I'd ask around with the patrons; they'll probably have salted meats and the like."
Myr commented, "Still, we could get fresh food for the first day, and eat it while it's still good before switching to our preserved rations. Besides, it would be a tastier meal for the first day."
Corgan goes into the kitchen and waves down the chef or whoever looks to be in charge.
"Hey, first thing, the food is absolutely fantastic! Best thing I've had in months! Unfortunately I have to be traveling for a bit and was wondering if I could buy 5 pounds of flour, sugar, and salt?" He hold up one of his platinum pieces to show how much he will pay.

Lyssa finishes off the remainder of her stew. She enjoyed it, though her stern, focused expression wouldn't immediately suggest so.
"Yes, let's go," she agrees with Corgan.
Her chair slides back with a scrape along the floor and she retrieves her shield and pack.
"Perhaps the innkeeper might have some spare rations they could sell us."
Sorry i've not been online lately. i broke my right arm and typing is a pain. i hope to be back somewhat mid next week.

(Do you check with the innkeeper on your own, given the lack of response?)
Myr also gets up and gathers her gear, "I have a weeks worth of rations in my backpack, how about the rest of you? Also, if we find food in the dungeon, I can purify it."
"I have similar provisions," Lyssa says.
While the others discuss what rations they have, Lyssa approaches the inn's bar and tries to flag down someone who works there.
If she finds someone, she would ask, "Excuse me. Yes, you there. Do you sell provisions for travelling?"
"For the time being, I think we have nothing to worry about."

Lyssa shook her head with disappointment.
"Nevermind..."
She rejoins the others, her head still shaking.
"This town is a poor place to recruit and equip dungeoneers," she says.
"Sorely underprovisioned."
Myr commented, "Still, we could get fresh food for the first day, and eat it while it's still good before switching to our preserved rations. Besides, it would be a tastier meal for the first day."
Corgan uses some of his newly acquired cash to buy some bread, hard cheese, and a few sausages. Enough to feed to party for a day.
Then he picks up 5 lbs of flour, sugar, and salt.

The Chef's eyes widen for a brief second. "Don't see platinum often. Sure; just give me a second."
They come back a minute later, hauling three bags with them, each marked with their ingredient.
"For you."
(OOC: Does anyone else have anything they want to do before heading out?)
((OOC: I'm all good to head out.))
OOC: Yup, ready to go.
