Name:Argus Evermoor Species: Human Class: Wizard (Diviner) Background: Noble Backstory: As the second son of Lord Evermoor, Argus was destined to study rather than rule, and so he did, with fervour. Brought up with the stories of the past glory of his home his resentment for the Obsidian tower grew and he vowed to restore Tyrian to it's former pride even at the cost of his own life, delving deeper into secret tomes of magic that survived the downfall, training to use his magic to uncover the hidden restingplaces of the lost fragments. As he came of age he urged those who would listen to set out on the road back to greatness and one fateful evening it was decided the journey would begin, Argus quickly volunteering for the mission to find and retrieve the lost fragments.
using the stats above these are the two characters I want to play. I'd pick one based on what everyone else plays:
Character Name: Dullin Ivano
Class/Subclass: Wizard/Abjurer
Species: human
Backstory: Dullin grew up simply, and she always strived for more. Nothing about her youth was particularly impressive, nor did it foretell her later success in life. Dullin eventually found her calling in life when a hedge wizard came to town and inspired awe in the youths with his illusions and magic. She knew from that day on she wanted to be like him. She enrolled in a school to study the arcane and it was only then that she began to find her calling. Dullin was a natural at staying shut in and reading. School was the ideal scenario for her and she excelled in there classes. What she wasn't expecting, however, was the expenses. Her family was able to pay for a semester, but with the books, and lodging, and meals, money started to run short. She had no choice but to go out and take odd jobs for money. What quickly became the most lucrative was being an adventurer. While she didn't excel at it, killing goblins and searching ancient catacombs payed the bills.
Now, with a degree in the abjuring arts and experience under her belt, Dullin is left without a school to keep her tied down, and without any money once again. Her student debts are begging to be paid off, and she hopes to find any work, no matter how dangerous, to pay them off and perhaps even continue her studies! The search for an ancient, magical island is more than up her alley!

Character Name: Durge Blackboot
Class/Subclass: Fighter/Battlemaster
Species: Orc
Backstory: Durge was born in the lowly swamps to the blackboot clan, a prospering group of orcs who had made a few dangerous allies. The Blackboots got their name from the iconic wader boots they wore to navigate the swamps they controlled. Eventually, the group expanded beyond the pitiful swamp they came from and expanded into the hilly forest of the wild lands. Their chieftain at the time set a precedent for chieftains to come of being ruthless and conniving. They grew bolder as their minor wars with other monsterous humanoid species were waged and won. Bullywugs, goblins, lizardfolk, all of them fell to the might of the blackboot clan.
From a young age Durge was given basic combat training and forced to march with the other warriors of his tribe. They grew to fear nothing, and their chief began to send them to raid travelers and caravans that entered or came close to their territory. This proved to be disastrous for them. Word got out about the orcish ambushes and a group of adventurers were sent to defeat them. The group did so with shocking effectiveness, and with the cheiftan defeated, the clan receded into the swamp to lick their wounds and heal. Durge, young and eager to help his people heal, left the tribe to find help. He found work as a sword for hire, using his earnings to feed his people as best he could. Durge has since earned himself a reputation as a shockingly obediant soldier for those who pay him. One that doesn't ask questions and get's the job done (provided he doesn't need to use his brain much).

Class/Subclass: 3 ranger gloom stalker, 2 rouge Eventually assassin
Species: Shadar Kai elf
background: farmer
Backstory: inside spoiler for space
Paecian was born in the Shadowfell—where memory frays, and even the soul has to wear a mask. Among the Shadar-kai, beauty is a lie told with lacquer and gold. Beneath their ornate masks, their flesh decays, twisted by the Raven Queen’s domain. The masks are not vanity—they are mercy.
Like many of his kind, Paecian served the Queen as a seeker of secrets. Not a warrior, but a shadow sent to gather forbidden knowledge, collect names, or erase them. His missions were clean, silent, and untraceable. When he was sent to the Material Plane to uncover the soul-location of a marked individual in Tyrian, he thought it would be another quiet task.
Then he saw his reflection.
Here, the decayed skin and hollow eyes of the Shadowfell were gone—replaced by a body whole and strangely… beautiful. He hated it. He couldn’t stop looking at it. And he couldn’t bring himself to go back. The Material Plane gave him something the Queen never had: the illusion of being alive.
He abandoned his mission. Vanished. Hid.
He didn’t belong in Tyrian’s glittering streets, and was soon exiled from a noble estate when his Shadar-kai nature slipped through the cracks. His accent. His stare. The cold that clung to him. Word spread. People feared him. He was run out.
Wounded and hunted, Paecian fled to the forests, ready to die.
Instead, he met a man with no eyes.
The blind ranger heard him approach, yet didn’t flinch. He offered Paecian food, fire, and silence. Over time, that silence became trust. The man—whose name Paecian never asked—taught him the ways of the wild. How to survive without being seen. How to kill without leaving a trace. But more than that, he taught him patience. Mercy. Restraint.
Then one morning, the fire was cold. The man was gone. No blood. No footprints. Just an empty camp, and a single arrow stabbed into the dirt with no message. He waited three days before walking away.
Paecian eventually found work on a borderland farm, hiding in labor. He took the Farmer’s name and bent his back to the soil, trying to become no one. But the world doesn’t let shadows rest. Raiders razed the homestead. Paecian didn’t weep. He retrieved his gear, lacquered his mask red—to hide the beauty he didn’t earn—and returned to the only trade he knew.
By then, Tyrian was already a hollowed-out jewel, long fallen from its former glory. Word spread of fragments of the Isle of Plenty, blown across the continent, still pulsing with raw magic. Where others saw salvation, Paecian saw opportunity. He’d worked jobs for collectors and nobles looking to reclaim the past, slipping in and out of vaults, vaults, and ruins for coin. Some paid him well. Others put a price on his head when he knew too much.
Now, whispers of a royal expedition circulate. A sanctioned quest to gather the fragments and rebuild Tyrian.
Paecian doesn’t care about kings or empires. But he’s listening. He has contacts. And somewhere out there, in the tangle of secrets and shadowed ruins, maybe one of the Isle’s fragments holds a clue to what really happened to the man who taught him how to survive.
Or maybe it’s just one last job before the Raven Queen finally finds him.
Do you have the 2024 phb? cause obviously that helps if I make it through. If not I can make a homebrew version, or just use the default options.
I have a master tier subscription, so I believe that will share all content from all members of the campaign if content sharing is turned on? Or maybe you have a master tier. idk. Just wondering what I'm working with.

I do not have a master tier, and it only shares the books that the subscriber has, not everyone in the campaign. Either homebrew or use options from books you have.
Very intrigued by the premise!

I am very interested! What sort of classes do you have in the party so far?
Not all wanderers are lost, but I sure am.
How many players are you planning to accept? When will you close the applications and make a decision on who will be in the party?

We will be starting the campaign. I don't have any in the party so far, so make a character with whatever you want.
4-6. Probably withing 2 weeks, sooner if there are an overload of applications.
Just use standard equipment for now. Will discuss more options with the final party.

Are applications still open? I've been away from the site for over half a year, and would love to join a game.
Yes. I will send out a message when applications close, and change the tag to closed. Until then, feel free to send in applications, everybody!

Ok! do you have any idea when that will be?
Probably in about a week, maybe longer if I don't get many submissions.
