As the party get gradually closer to the gate Hrain holds Vihar back just before they reach the gate seeing the newcomer, a paladin of Chauntea he has met but doesn't know well, pause looking like he intends to wait for the others to leave before him "Go now, you cannot match me for speed whilst I have Vihar and I will hold if needed, keep moving." His tones is every bit that of the ranking officer but the nod he offers the half orc seems to indicate that it is a gesture he approves of.
Turning back to the chaos of multiple magical storms he quietly says "and there is still a chance she will find a way out, I must be here to help if needed".

The half-orc nods to Hrain and looks down at his pegleg and says in his thick Irish brogue "well I'm never going to be able out-run anybody, or anything, so thank-you Captain but I will wait until all of the stragglers are through." He looks up at Hrain and continues "if there is anything I've learnt in almost 40 years of soldiering is that there are always stragglers and they always need a hand." He does however step into the gateway but adopts a position where he can scan the courtyard for any stragglers.

(OOC sorry for the delay, really busy day today IRL)
Finally arriving at the gate, Haldur coughs and wheezes as the toxin still ravages his lungs and bloodstream but he whirls around and stares fiercely into the camp, desperately looking around for his lost companions. The mercenary grits his teeth and throws his gaze around in frustration, but visibility is limited through the whirling tempest of snow that has obscured so much of the area. Swearing a vicious oath, he un-shoulders his light crossbow and loads a bolt, sparing only a brief moment to look at the new additions to their fleeing refugee band. Haldur feels a momentary pang of unease at not greeting the new-comers and celebrating their survival in the face of such overwhelming odds, but the reality of the danger of their situation overrides his desire to be civil or sociable. There would be plenty of time to get to know one another once they were free of the Casters bearing down on them, and once they had saved those of their original party that could still possibly be saved.
Trying to calm his breathing, the young warrior raises his crossbow to his shoulder and zeros in his gaze, looking for the flashing glimpse of chromatic color against the shifting white of the whipping snow. He knows that the range is beyond his comfort zone but that his weapon is more capable than he is, and so with little hope of actually striking his target but unwilling to allow them to advance entirely unmolested, Haldur fires a bolt at the first flash of distinctive red Caster flesh that peeks through the storm.
Attack on Red Caster:13Damage:10
Disadvantage range on the weapon is 320' feet, but I figured what the hell why not since I already have disadvantage from the poison lol.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

"Father Pat, we may need to move a little faster for the next little while... And by we, I mean you." Nicknack's tiny fingers dip into his component pouch and crumble a tiny shaving of licorice root. His fingers twist in the air, tracing out an arcane symbol while he whispers the ancient name for the rune of speed in a tongue unknown to the others. Father Pat feels his system explode with potential energy from the Haste spell!
Father Pat does a bit of a twirl and says to Nicknack"thanks, I reckon I might even be able to give the bloke on his horse a run for his money!" He starts to move away at a great speed because what the energy has allowed him to do is take great strides. As he strides through the gateway he comes to the shut gates and says "well that's a bugger! Talk about throwing a spanner in the works!" He then has a quick look around, as well as trying to remember where the control system, winding drums (capstans) might be for the gates.
