Looking for 3 to 5 players who would like to play Lost Mine of Phandelver. This is a kind of go crazy, no restrictions campaign. You may use any and all rule sources to create your character. I'm trying to have a little fun with this, as I have been away from D&D for about a year. I will be playing as a DMPC, which I did before my short hiatus. If you'd like to particiapte, send me a private message with your character name, species, class, and why they are in Neverwinter.
Why His dad wanted a better life for his son, he took him to a monastery in order to learn about life and ethics beyond is current experience. As Caine learned the humility and other skills of the fellow monks, Caine still, would keep his fingers nimble during his alone time as he learned the ways of the monastery. As Caine aged into young manhood, the Abbot took him a several others and pronounced they have graduated, and for the next step of graduation, these individuals will need to go out into the world and allow the world to teach them how they fit into the cosmos of life itself. Once that occurs they are to be welcomed back into the Monastery with open arms.
Reminder: Just send me a private message and ill give you the link to the Campaign
My character will be Maximus Greybluff. He is a human fighter who grew up in Icewind Dale before moving to Neverwinter at the age of 10 with his father. After an accident took his ability to talk when he was 14, he learned sign language. He spent years fighting in club for coin, and became a local legend. Now bored of his life, he, along with his pet badger familiar Honey, has chosen to seek adventure.
Why: Alira was born and raised on a private estate far away from Neverwinter. Her parents are the head cooks/chefs for the Lord of the estate. She and her siblings spent many days and nights helping their parents in the kitchens. She dreams of one day opening her own tavern and filling it with stories, song, and fine food. But she needs ingredients, recipes, and spices. She left the estate and traveled to Neverwinter looking for anything she can use for her future tavern; ingredients, spices, recipes, and stories of adventure.
Awesome. This will be our party. We have one more joining later today. Shes a friend of mine and it is her first campaign, so she will be still learning. Ill have her play a rogue probably, since we have everything else. I shouldve sent everybody the campaign link in private messages. If not let me know and ill send it. Im gonna use today to prep maps snd go over character sheets, and we can start probably tomorrow. Where is everyone from, just so i have an idea of when is a good time to post?
It will occur in this thread. That way things will be more streamlined. The campaign should take a couple months, assuming you all post once a day. I expect (and hope) that it will be done sooner.
Quick summary of Lost Mine of Phandelver. Lost mine is a campaign that will advance a party of 4 to 6 level one characters to level 5. It has the trademarks of a good campaign: Goblins, caves, undead, dragons and dungeons. We will be using the Meet me in Phandelver adventure hook. So, let us begin our adventure
In the city of Neverwinter, A dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker has asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a coupld days travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his his brother had "found something big" and that he'd pay each of you ten gold piece for safely escorting the supplies to Barhten's Provisions, a trading post in Phandlin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business." You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this part of the Sword Coast can be dangerous. Bandits and Outlaws are known to lurk along the trail.
Make sure your character have introduced themselves to everyone. Also determine marching order, whos controlling the wagon, and what you each know about each other after 3 days on the road.
"Greetings, fellow travelers! I'm Alira Fenwick!" her tone is naively trusting of strangers. "Gundren's hired me to help get his supplies to Phandalin."
After three days you've probably learned;
- her appearance:
Alira dresses as a traveler who blends practical protection with artistic flair. She wears simple, sturdy boots just below the knee and dark fitted pants suited for long journeys. Her top resembles a bard’s elegant tunic in rich in phthalo green with silver-grey accents, subtly reinforced as leather armor without looking like it. Her rapier hangs openly at her hip, balanced by a small coin purse on the opposite side. Over it all she wears a long, storm-grey traveling coat that is fitted at the torso, flared for movement, with a high collar, silver stitching, and hidden interior pockets for spices, notes, and components. Her fiddle rides in a slim, reinforced leather case strapped diagonally across her back under her backpack, kept snug by a secondary strap so it never swings while she runs or draws her blade. Altogether, her look is that of a road-worn bardic wanderer: practical, stylish, and unmistakably her own.
- she carries a clarinet and fiddle and can play them well enough to lighten spirits and bring a smile.
- during an overnight camp, you've learned that she can cook well. She has shared a few cookies, pastries and snakes with you.
- she is far too friendly for her own good, and in a slightly scatterbrained way.
- she tries to be polite but likes to probe; wants to know everyone's stories, wants to know all the details.
Maximus sits inside the wagon on top of a barrel. Hes a tall, lanky dude in maroon leather armor. He is armed to the teeth, sporting a longsword and longbow in a specialized sheath on his back, a shortsword on his left hip, and two handaxes on his right hip. Pretty average for a fighter. The strangest thing about him is the badger that is curled in his lap.
Over the last few days, youve learned that Maximus grew up in Icewind Dale, where he learned to fight. He moved to Neverwinter with his father, and is no longer able to speak. In the city, he faught in clubs, where he became a local legend and was known as Blood Chest (for his dark red armor) and the Bruise (for both the bruise, like birthmark on his back and what he'd do to his oppenents.) You also learned that he had an interest in magic, which is why he has his badger (Honey is a familiar) and his ability to cast a couple cantrips. Otherwise he's pretty quiet, and becomes sullen and withdrawn whenever the incident that took his ability to talk is brought up. He prefers to listen, but is a faithful ally and fights for those who can't.
Kwai Chang Caine or Caine, is currently a wanderer. His father was a mid-level hench in a crime family. Caine's father originally was grooming him to be a top lieutenant in the family. But when Caine was still a child, his father was at the wrong end of an ambush from a rival gang. His father once healed, realized that his was not a life he wanted his only son to follow. He sent Caine to a monestary to learn the 3 Rs. A couple of months ago the monestary wanted their disciples to be better rounded individuals. He was ordered to wander until found.
Like any recent grad, he is well versed in the how to not the practical. Dressed travelers clothes, he sits at the back of the wagon. He is not really armed. He has a boomerang to get out a bit of range. Better to hunt game for dinner. A knife nee a dagger. And lastly he has his fists.
