“Slag!” Flint beckoned the juggernaut over as he moves down the bar a bit to give Kaldun the space that was clearly needed.”Drink up, friend. The meeting starts soon, but save some for the rest of us.” Finishing off his own ale so to ask for another before Slag emptied the keg supply. “Our stowaway has been making friends as well.“ Gesturing to the orc and human as well as Betty.
Slag will wave to Flint and move over to his Dwarven friend. "It is good that he is making friends, I am sure that as people get to know him... everyone will love our new Kobold companion!" Then Slags face will light up as inspiration hits him like a lightning bolt "Bartender! 3 rounds of your strongest cheap ale for everyone in the building on behalf of our friend Kaldun!" he would then tap the bartender on the shoulder and pay the tab himself, trying to hide the fact from others in the bar.
Kaldun gritted his teeth and exhaled, he was overwhelmed by the attention. It went against his natural instincts, which were to stay hidden. He hoped nobody would start trouble now that Slag had just announced he was a Kobold... Still he was humbled and excited that his new companions would drink to his name, he felt honored and wanted to show his appreciation.
Kaldun Goldast lifted his glass to Slag and his companions, let out a short grunt, and then drank.

Anyways, as the 6 o'clock hour approaches, most shops start to close down early for the evening for everyone seems interested in what is going to be said at the Town Hall meeting. The only place that remains open is The Pumpkin Gourd Inn, but it shrinks down to a minimal staff. Just before 6pm, at the Inn, Prospero and Bigark, you recognise a red headed man, short goatee. He comes in as Betty finishes her shift. This red headed man is the night manager the one that signed you two to your rooms. His name is Alen. Betty tells him she will tell him everything is said at the meeting.
As the seven of you gather at the Town Hall, you are met by Marv, who gives the disguised dwarf Prospero a confused look. (investigation 25) "Weren't you a lot skinnier and a halfling at the temple? Halfling, dwarf, gnome, you all look the same when running around" He escorts the seven up to the front stage where the mayor is standing behind a podium watching the town hall fill in with townsfolk. Once it looks like everyone is seated Mayor Timberman starts to speak.
"I'll make myself brief before I open up the floor concerns. Today we had come face to face with a possibility that none of us had ever hoped for in our tiny village. We were attacked by the once only thought as myths told us by our parents that we tell our children to stay out of the forest. Those myths became a dark reality. If it weren't for the actions of the seven brave men standing behind me, I fear today would have been more tragic. While the fragile state of security was tested, the actions of these seven strangers gives me hope. They may seem like an odd bunch, a bit strange to you or I but these strangers are heroes in my book and welcome in this town as long as I remain mayor."
Mayor Timberman turns and starts handing out coin purses. Inside each of you gets 20 Platinum piece, and a large medallion, with the North Wind city seal on it. Then heads back and opens the forum to the people. These are the concerns of the people and counter arguments brought up.
"We need a wall! Other cities have one why don't we?"
"We don't have the budget or the man power to maintain a wall."
"What about the festival are we still going to have one this year?"
"A festival without a temple? Are you daft?"
"The festival hasn't had any religious meaning in years."
"Why do you think Gaea has abandoned us? We have lost our way."
"You seriously expect that bloody tree to get up and fight the bloody Ice Wolves, are you insane? Besides the tree is dead."
"No its not, I heard a gnome saved it."
"We could use the profits from the festival to help fund rebuilding the temple."
"Can't we ask Arch Cleric Terrace for funding?"
"Isn't the Arch Cleric a Yerdrasel follower? How likely is he going to help us?"
"Gaea is an Avamoore approved deity, the Arch Cleric can't refuse to help us."
"The Arch Cleric might be a little reluctant to help if he finds out the reason the temple was destroyed. He might try getting us to convert to Yerdrasel so not to anger the crazy wolf sect of Gaea worshipers."
"Besides if we were to try to appeal to the Arch Cleric, it will still take too long be sending a letter, we'd have to send a messenger and we can't afford to be down any guards at the moment."
"Why don't we take the fight to the Ice Wolves, wipe them out, don't we have one prisoner?"
"We haven't gotten him to talk yet, and if we did we couldn't do anything cause once again we don't have the man power to go out and destroy what ever remains. Plus it is against Avamoore for one city act against a Savage Land Force without permission from the Avamoore council and they are not going to write any declarations of war."
"So we are just to remain defenceless, scared of the next Ice Wolf attack?"
"We all need to be more vigilant in our lives, see something report it to local guard. We can't let fear take over our lives. Thats what the Ice Wolves want."
So on the debates go. You all seven of you listen and hear this, what is your guys imput, what do you seven want to do.

"Well met sir, my name is Rurik Battlehammer. I'm just in town for a few days, I heard there was big news coming at this town hall meeting, any idea what it would be about?"
Slag would place his large hand on the Rurik's shoulder. "Come on friend, don't waste yer time talking out here... we need to make sure we get good seats... unless you want me to stand in the back row with ya on me shoulders!" Slag would give marv a nod, nearly dropping his beard of chains on Rurik's head before continuing into the building.
(He thinks something might be up, but through out the chaos wasn't sure if got a good look at Prospero during the fight, and how I've been playing the townfolk, halflings, gnomes, and dwarves look very similar, people get confused by them, not sure to call them. If Marv does suspect something, he maybe letting it slide for the good you've done for the tree)
During the debate, Tallis sits bored and frustrated amidst conflicting opinions. "All fine points, but no commitment to any," he notes to no one in particular, "Go to the rulers and request aid. Money, manpower, supplies, these are what kings and councils are for, no? Otherwise, they serve no purpose."

Slag will add the new coins to his pouch and lower his head so that the medal can be placed around his large blocky head. As the debate wages on he will step forward "If you wish to build a wall, I will help you to build a wall.... If you wish to destroy these Ice Wolves.... then I will see them melt under the heat of the forge!" Smoke will start to billow out of his smokestacks a little harder and thicker as he becomes more agitated. "Bickering among yourselves will get you nowhere but quick grave... Build a strong defense or launch an offensive... it doesn't matter what you choose... but choose quickly and devote yourselves to the cause..." Slag will raise on of his large metal hands into the air and close it into a fist... "It is only through hard work and devotion to your cause that you can be successful."
"Hmmmmmmmmm...."Boo sits cross legged in his chair, pondering available options. Building anything of reasonable scale would take time. An assault would probably take less time. Yes... They wouldn't expect it so fast! Brilliant! Gorgal praise be his mind! Boo reaches into is pocket and pulls out the folded note he acquired from the Alpha. He springs from his seat to the mayor, falls to his knees, and offers it to him.
As Bigark stands before the crowd being thanked by the mayor, he looks up and down the line. Besides the antlered Boo and the giant metal man, the rest seem weak and insignificant. He sticks out his chin as thoughts of his own might filll his mind. But then he catches sight of Kaldun and remembers how the small kobold had defeated two of the wolf men himself. The orc once again looks at the rest and shrugs a little, deciding perhaps there is more to them than he knows. Not really paying attention to the mayor's speech, he is surprised when he is handed a small purse. He looks inside and is pleased to find platinum coins. He gingerly pulls out the medallion and turns it over in his hand. Another shrug and the purse, coins and medallion are gone into a pocket of his coat.
As the town discusses their measly concerns, Bigark's mind wanders. But when Slag starts spewing copious amounts of smoke, it catches the Orc's attention. He listens to the warforged speak. (Prospero would know that Stardon is to the south west from North Wind, as that was just the last city was in before trying to lay low here. And since Slag bought the book, you'll know that Danten City is more straight shot to the south. So in theory if wanted to hit both you'd be making a triangle trip )
Tallis stands and approaches the mayor as Slag speaks, "Look at your people; they are already in a panic, so these Ice Wolves are already winning. When your herd scatters to their own devices, the hungry pack can pick them off. Send word to your lords and kings for help. I - perhaps 'we' if they're willing - can scout the lands and head off the Ice Wolves as we can."
Slag's speech about walls and defenses catches the grey half-elf's attention, "If you would hide yourselfs from the predators, consolidate, then grow. Start with defenses around the town center, then move outward. Give me a horse, supplies, and stipend upon return, then I will scout your borders and send word of what I find. Hopefully it will give you time you need for aid to come."

Upon receiving the sack, Flint took a peek inside only to stumble back into the Juggernaut. “Pla...pla...platinum. By the forge.” Holding the coin purse tightly before tucking it away, “If this be the riches that we can expect. Then I say we take the fight to these Ice Wolves and finish them off quickly. I’ll do so with me own axe if need be, but waiting around for a wall to be built... They can attack and attack, tearing away at your defense. Seeking help from others could take too long. Action is needed and now.”
