Vondal eyes narrows. "No more coyness, friend. Come clean. You know who I refer to. And if you have harmed someone that recently entered the cave, or seek to protect glastaff further..."He trails off there, the warning clear in both thoughts and words. The former of which he does not try to hide. If the creature can 'sense' his emotions as well, it would know along with heighted wariness there was a hint of regret beneath budding grim acceptance.

The creature comically bends its arms at the elbows, essentially raising its hands in surrender. It shrugs its bony shoulders and seems to grin at Vondal. "Protect who? Nobody here."
Vondal lets out a breathy sigh. "This guy."He huffs one more time, then half-hearted glares at the Nothic. "Still not answer other question. Did anyone else come 'in' after us recently?" He asks tiredly, again speaking both verbally and mentally(?) while pinching the bridge of his nose. This time he does try to keep his thoughts a little more guarded while awaiting an answer. Not out of any maliciousness, but in a vain attempt to avoid having the creature 'play' at his anticipations.
Once they had an answer (preferably of the innocent kind), he motions for Nif to lead the way to the otherside to hunt down the prisoners. Already they have spent far too long in the cavern messing with the creature.

Nif will nod and lead the way north. Once they are sufficiently away from the creature, Nif looks back at Vondal, "I should have gone with my gut and shot the creature on sight."
The nothic pauses, then blinks one huge eye lid. "No one come in," it thinks. As Nif begins across the bridge, the nothic backs up around the edge of the stalagmite, its claws extending at the ready. But as the party moves north, it doesn't pursue. After crossing the bridge, Droop looks back to see the nothic crawl back into the crevasse.
The area the group enters at the north end of the large natural cavern has been finished with dressed stone block walls and a flagstone floor. Several barrels are stored against the walls here, along with a number of empty crates, straw for packing, hammers, pry bars, and nails.
Once the reach what appeared to be a storeroom, Vondal starts handing off the four red cloaks. "Might confused other redbrands while at it. Assuming by 'Nobody', he did not mean the prisoners and guards too." He comments on as he dons his own cloak. The more bloody ones he left to himself and Karl, knowing(hoping. >.>) his Uncle wouldn't mind too much. "Now-..." He claps and starts rubbing his hands together. "How much you all want bet this dead end is not dead end?" He asks half-jokingly as he starts to help Nif look around.
Namely the right side, as dwarven sensibilities dictated the other side to be the wall to the stairway.

Karl dons the Red Bellies cloak and says "right lets get this done then, cos as soon as we get it done - whatever it might be - the sooner I can get rid of this mucky cloak!"
(@Zip: What stairs? We're up in the right-hand corner with the barrels at the moment, getting dressed up and looking for any other hidden entryways. Vondal is also providing you advantage on the search.)
Poking and prodding the walls on the east side of the storeroom, Nif and Vondal find a panel that swings open in the northeast corner. They find themselves in a short hallway. Placing his hand on the handle of the door directly across from him, Nif finds that door locked.
As Karl kicks at the door he says to Nif "you didn't say whether you wanted kicked down now or by next Christmas!" and the door (8) probably stays stubbornly shut "damn that hurt!"Karl curses.
Vondal watched the whole thing from a good ten feet in the storage room. "You know if that belonged to prison area, they probably know we come?" He deadpans, half-joking in his tone. He goes back in the other room and comes back with one of the pry bars. "Maybe try again with this uncle?"He says, then moves on to the further end of the mini hall to be ready in case all the ruckus got noticed.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Karl takes the Pry-bar from Vondal and says pointing to his own head "up here for thinkin - pity I didn't do that!" He had another go at the door (22) [OOC: used advantage in case that's appropriate for the pry-bar. If not take the first number] and the door ....

Nif will lead the way down the stairs, as always keeping his eyes out and walking slowly.

With Vondals help, Nifelty investigates the room for any items of interest and hidden passageways

Poking and prodding the walls on the east side of the storeroom, Nif and Vondal find a panel that swings open in the northeast corner. They find themselves in a short hallway. Placing his hand on the handle of the door directly across from him, Nif finds that door locked.
Nif grins, "This is just what my youth trained me for."
Squatting down, Nif pulls out his thieves tools and fiddles with the lock, trying to unlatch it.
Lock Pick: 9
Nif may have been trained well, but he can't seem to work his magic on this door. It remains locked.
Clearly not happy with his attempt, Nif looks over his shoulder. "Guess we are using your method, Uncle."
Nif jumps out of the way, as Karl attacks the door with out giving any warning.
As Karl kicks at the door he says to Nif "you didn't say whether you wanted kicked down now or by next Christmas!" and the door (8) probably stays stubbornly shut "damn that hurt!" Karl curses.
