Vondal would stop by the temple to speak with the sister, requesting when she has free time to head to inn and renew the blessing. "Unless you absolutely require we bring Brother here? If so, well... we would of course do so. I ask only this larger favor of you going there, because time is something of the essence for us. For sake of rescue'n friend, you understand." He explains while already fetching the coin necessary for the ritual to hand over once more.

Vondal then continues on, following the directions Toblen had given to meet Daran. The dwarf finds a humble cottage on the edge of the smallish orchard and knocks. Almost immediately the door is opened by a fit, silver-haired half-elf with a lined face. He looks Vondal up and down before beginning to smile. "Yes? May I help you?"
Vondal makes a motion as if to take off a hate, only to catch himself midway and chuckle. "I think it would be more appropriate to say, how may my brothers and I help -you-." He winks, and then small bow. "The name is Vondal of the Stormfist Clan, and one of the... I hate to use the word 'Town Heroes', but if the shoe fits."The Gold Dwarf helplessly shrugs and grins. "I am sorry my brothers could not make it. There are many preparations being made at moment for journey, so most are busy, busy. Nevertheless! I am here to hear your... request for us? Or at least, Uncle Karl?"With that, he gives the elf a look as if to say 'Care to clarify, perhaps?'

"I was hoping you were one of the Saviors of Phandalin," Daran Edermath says, stepping back and inviting Vondal inside. "Never having met any of you, I could only assume by your heritage." He closes the door behind Vondal, who finds himself in the sitting room of the abode. It contains a few rustic chairs situated around a surprisingly clean fireplace. Daran takes a comfortable stance before the monk. "I won't keep you long," he says, his face taking on a business-like appearance. "I'm sorry to hear you're preparing to leave Phandalin again. I'm in need of some traveling companions. I visited Mirna Dendrar a few days ago." He smiles. "She's doing very well, by the way. Thank you so much for rescuing her and the children, and recovering Thel's body. They had a nice time of remembrance for him a couple days after you brought them out." He waves a hand. "I digress. Elsa says when her family left Thundertree after undead overran the place when she was a little girl, an important heirloom was left hidden in her family's shop. Having lost her husband, family has suddenly become very important to her, and she'd like the heirloom found and returned. I volunteered to go, but I'd rather not do it alone. I won't be a burden. I used to be an adventurer. It's been some years, and I've forgotten many things, but there is still some fight in these old bones, if the need arises," he smiles again.
Vondal of course accepted the invitation inside without aplomb, and would soon after find himself respectfully listening and nodded wherever it was appropriate. There is however a moment near the end in which he gave Daren a more narrowed eye once over, having remembered seeing neither hide or hair when it came to the redbrands. And so, a lengthy moment of silence passes by without a word from the Gold Dwarf. During that time, he never loses the thoughtful but gravely serious expression on his face, or keen on responding to anything prior to seeing the current train of thought to its destination.
Finally, he leans back in his chair. "It must've been difficult, not being able to aid her sooner... And now, this is your chance to make up for things, isn't it?" He asked, smiling politely, but still closely regarding Daran's reaction. Once he had it, the Gold Dwarf nodded and says, "I hope you can prepare yourself quickly then, my friend. For we leave within the hour. And I suspect it will be a very long walk."

Daran looks confused for a second, then shakes his head. "Aid her? We didn't know where she was. She and her children disappeared, sure, but we didn't know the Redbrands had taken them. We thought after Thel had been murdered that she left town to protect her young. I admit I was reluctant to do more than keep my head down and suggest the rest of the townfolk do the same. What is one old man to a mob of youths? Even if I used to be an adventurer." By the end, he looks sad. "I hope you don't think me a coward."
Vondal lets out long breathe through his nose, and folds his arms. "I think.... I think you did the right thing, all things considered... But, you and I both know you could've done more, aged or not. Perhaps not fight them all yourself. But, you could have attempted to send out word about what had happened to the town; -especially- after the murder."He frowns. "Surely you had other adventurous friend in past you could have asked for. Maybe... they have apprentice under them they could send. With group, of course." Vondal added, shrugging his shoulder to the end.
"But you are not dwarf, yes. So, I... understand... Just, in the future, do not let your waning years be filled with regret my friend. For if me and Brothers had not come..."he trails off there, believing his point to have been made.

Daran nods. "You're right, of course. I let my idea of retirement cloud my judgment. For what it's worth, I thank you for boxing my ears, as it were. And I'm very grateful to all of you Saviors of Phandalin," he smiles. "Now, concerning the trip, are you headed in the direction of Thundertree that I may tag along?"
"We dwarves... sometimes take for granted the ease in which doing the right thing is for us." He smirks. "Granted, usually that -right- thing involves deciding if a thing affects the clan or not, but that's neither here or there."Vondal admits with a chuckle, prior to rising to his feet. "...But like I said. We leave within the hour. You can join me now, and we can meet with me brother's, if'n your ready to go. OR, you can meet us there before the hours is up, and with all your fairs set right."

Daran says he needs just a little time to close up the house and let his neighbor know he's headed out of town for a few days. Within the hour, he walks in the front door of the Stonehill Inn ready to go — dressed in the same plain clothes he received Vondal in earlier, but sporting a walking stick, pack, and a shortbow and quiver. He is delighted to meet Karl, Nif and Adrom.
Nif eyes of Karl, "you have an interesting concept of staying in line Uncle." Nif says with a sly from. He then turns to the older elf, "Good to meet you, my name is Nifeltay but you can just call me Nif." He says.

Most of the stories the others have heard before, though spoken with more enthusiasm this time around. Almost as if the uncomfortable weight that once that often came with such previous tellings no longer dogged the Monk...

Anything else before you set out for Thundertree? Daran estimates it's going to take almost two full days of walking.
