Nif, you find a small coffer, but the lid is open as if it was recently emptied. The rest of the room is as previously described (if I remember correctly): The interior of the house is dusty and strung with cobwebs. The only furnishings are a small stove, a table, two chairs, and a single bunk.
OOC: Forgot to award XP. Everyone gets an additional 875 XP, which means you all will level up your next long rest.
(ooC: Sweet, sweet level up~ And its just around the corner.)
Unless alerted to findings sometime soon, a solemn Vondal continued to drag along bodies close together, ignoring his own hurts and pains. There are times nevertheless that stopping became necessary, and the young stormfist had to sit down and at least catch his breathe. But always its right back to work, eventually settling upon readying the bodies for burial nearby. If any should wish to look over the bodies one more time, a likely winded at the time hill dwarf just tiredly nods and helps however he can.
"This vill take more than just hot minute. So, seeing as these lot won't be needing 'ome this eve, I would suggest making use of it ourselves tonight." He calls over to the other dwarves, looks down at latest moved body, and then over in direction of the barracks. "Aww shite... Still gotta go collect those as well...This is gonna be long afternoon -- Mr. Daran. When I go collect other bodies, you come help, yes?"

Vondal will definitely take the last watch. Despite removing most obvious potential threats from the neighborhood, the Hill Dwarf would at least be somewhat insistent, if only because of the dragon lurking in teh area.

As you are drifting off to sleep, a male voice with a slight lilting accent speaks into your head: "Vondal, Daewyrn sends, 'Hello, little brother. Sorry it's been so long since I've written, but I've been busy. I'm OK. Thinking of you. Stay safe.'"
The night progresses uneventfully. You all wake, feeling more powerful and sure of yourselves.
Vondal stirred to alertness almost immediately, but is able to keep from grasping a weapon in panic. After taking a few seconds to digest the message, a broad smile blooms, as well as a few tears. As they are being wiped away he responds via the magic, "Tell her 'Been busy too. Hiccup at Neverwinter. Lost Bron on new job. Doing otherwise well. Made peace with ancestor. Miss you, Big Sis."
With that said, Vondal settled in again for a far more peaceful slumber.
As he was on last watch, when others awaken, they see Vondal back at again studying the writing. Unlike the previous few days, the hill dwarf is grinning and even chuckling to himself. "I did it. I.. remembered them. All of them! Well, most of them. Still need time, but with this-..." He pulls out the crystal he'd been studying alongside the book for some time. "I can finally do it, Brothers. The weave is at my finger tips -- l-like with Nif, only.. different. A little." He smiled brightly.
"Perhaps I now teach you thing or two now, Brother Nif. Though real question is... shall we make for castle now? Or do we still fight dragon?" He asked, expression hardening a little as he regarded the others more seriously.

"Vell, I 'pose that answers that question."Vondal chuckled as he closed up his book. "This is probably terrible idea. But, maybe if dragon has sizeable enough horde, we can buy Gundren's freedom."The idea is left sitting there for a few moments before the hill dwarf snorts, and shakes his head to the sides. "Tch! As if! Right then. There are worse ways to go. And what's a missing limb or a few more bandages?" He jests, patting at his gullet. "Vhat about rest of three? Ready for some dragon hunting?"

Daran raises his eyebrows and looks a little like a parent who doesn't approve of their child's decisions, but doesn't say anything when the group packs up and heads toward the hill.
The fastest route from the cultists' hideout is to first head west and then north to get to the foot of the weaving trail up the hill. Standing at the bottom of the hill and looking up, your backs to the place where you fought the two giant spiders, you look through the trees at the rising tower. Karl, ready to face the dragon, begins walking up the trail, causing the others to move before they are ready.
As you reach the top of the hill, you can clearly see the round tower with a cottage attached. Both are in good condition, although half of the tower’s roof is gone. A door leads into the cottage, and several arrow-slit windows are visible in the tower. You can’t help but notice an eerie quiet in the area and a strange, acrid smell in the air.
The corpses of two hideous giant spiders are sprawled near the edge of the pathway.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Vhis be place, alright. The silence death hangs heavy here." Vondal comments on quietly as stared up at the broken open tower. "And if I was dragon, I would probably in place with skyline."He gestures up to the open roof top of the tower, and then looks back down to the cottage, pointedly avoiding looking at the Giant Spiders who are totally dead and won't sneak up and carry him away into the underdark. "Unfortunately, I don't think any of us brought grappling hook. So, we do dis 'ol fashion way of ground assault. We'll also want the element of... surprise."His voice kind of trails off there as he looks to Adrom and Dran.
"Eh..."Vondal looks to th cottage, attempting to size it up and picture in his head how deep they may go in before reach in adjoining door to the tower. Then, he realizes he knows dwarven structures far better than human ones, prompting him to pinch the bridge of his nose. "Wait... I think I got it." He whispers, holding up a finger for patience as he finalized it in his head.
(@DDP: So DM... I got this spell called Mold Earth. No verbal components, just somatic. Is there enough "loose" earth and stone available to make a climbable mound or tower that can reach the tower roof? And can he technically move it silently enough for nothing to hear it from inside either building or tower? I've done the maths, and assuming people are willing to wait, it should roughly take him about 1-2 minutes to make one up to 60ft in height without it being a leaning tower of pizza(or however that place is called) situation).
Also... though it is to late to go back now, I just discovered my stonespeaker crystal would've granted Vondal advantage on that investigation roll on those bodies. So out of morbid curiosity, that ould've made it... 20... of course.)
While I appreciate your ingenuity with the mold earth spell, and the fact that you're not trying to do anything too crazy in combat, I just don't know how that would work. It has to be loose earth. It's not like shape water where you can make it solid. If my calculations are correct, the tower is 40 feet tall, but a mound of loose earth is going to have an angle of repose (new term for me) of 30–45 degrees, which means you'd need a minimum of 33510 cubic feet of dirt, considering the slope might be less than 45 degrees and the tower is round, not a flat surface. The cube you can excavate with the spell is 125 cubic feet, which means you'd need to excavate 268 five-foot cubes to make the mound. Wow, that doesn't sound right, but at any rate, you'd be hard pressed to excavate enough loose dirt to make a mound 40 feet high without being out in an open field — not on top of a tree-covered hill with a building sitting right there. Again, I appreciate your creativity.
On the flip side, I will gladly retcon that investigation. You found near the first cultist (the one who was running through the woods) a pouch containing three diamonds.
