Oh, I hadn't forgotten about it. That why I said 'remotely'. I should've clarified that better. But man. First getting wrecked by a wolf one night, and then missing all of his attacks in the next. Vondal is not have a good streak. XD
Vondal starts to swear in undercommon. But with one glance over to Nif, he restrains himself to a tired 'woof' as he slung the bow over his shoulder. "You live another day, wretched brother. Though-..."Vondal glances over to the horses and grimaces. "Uncle Karl? Mind helping me get those bodies off the road? We should probably get moving for the whole pack of them return."He says as he goes over to them. Vondal Before he does however, unless Karl beats him to the punch, he is going to examine the bodies to see how long they might've been dead.

Einar takes a long look around as his rage subsides. He becomes one with the area — the trees, the underbrush, the road. He takes it all in. It is clear the goblins have been using this place to stage ambushes for some time. A trail hidden behind thickets on the north side of the road leads northwest. Most likely, the goblin was running for this trail when it was dispatched by his hatchet. Einar sees signs that about a dozen goblins have come and gone along the trail. He also clearly sees that two medium-sized bodies have been hauled away from the ambush site fairly recently. Looking back at the horses, Einar suspects that one of the packs is the same pack Gundren was wearing when he left the Bard, though it looks rather deflated at the moment. He also spots some kind of leather tube lying near one of the horses.
While walking about, the dwarf also finds pecans which can be picked up, several bushes of what appear to be blackberries, and the tracks of three kinds of wildlife. Near the hidden trail, in the tall grass, Einar finds an amulet on a silver chain. The pendent features an embossed bowl which is beautifully decorated.
Karl picks up one of the horses legs and with a grunt starts to drag it off the road. He says to Vondal "these are a bit ripe but not to ripe,I reckon they've been here ... days."
Karl's perception roll for how long the horses have been there 21
Not days, but hours. The horses are still extremely pliable and the blood is still tacky in places. Some insects have found the corpses, but no scavengers have as of yet.
Einar quickly begins cleaning his pair of hatchets as he calls out to the others.
"Looks like we have a dilemma, brothers. There is a trail leading back to the northwest. Looks to have been used repeatedly by about twelve or so goblins. Also, there are signs of two larger bodies being dragged along the trail."
He walks back to the two horses, pointing out the two packs and picking up the tube.
"And these look like they might have belonged to our friend Gundren and his escort."

After regarding them in a brief moment of frustration, he looks back to the oxen. "We need... we need to check it out. But first, let's see about getting the cart and oxen tied up off to the side. Or at the very least, off the side, and have the cart on the off to the side." He more or less suggest while brushing his hands off on his pants.

"This road sees far less traffic, and time may be of the essence. I suggest we leave the cart where it is, but secure the oxen. Also, leave the horses. If anyone does happen along the road, they will know that there was an abush, but we survived to give chase."
As he finishes speaking he heads to the cart to find the rope to secure the oxen.

"At least we didn't get far into it. Eh, Uncle?" He says to Karl. Once the matter of Oxen and bodies was settled, Vondal, third of his name, takes up the middle with his shortbow at hand. Despite the temptation, he knew better than to get in Karl's and Einar's way protentional when there were heads to smash; especially goblin heads. "So, what's the plan for when we find them? With Einar in the lead, the five dwarves head northwest along the narrow trail. About 10 minutes, Einar notices something isn't right with the trail. He halts their progress and asks the others to wait as he analyzes the path. The others watch as he picks up a large limb and tosses it onto a specific place in the path. A hidden snare is sprung, sending the limb flying through the air and into the trees. He gives a signal and the group begins moving again. Another 10 minutes down the trail, the lead dwarf isn't as keen. The other four watch as Einar ...

The other four watch as Einar's leg disappears into the trail, but he is able to fall backward, merely knocking the wind from him as he lands on his back instead of falling into the hidden pit. The next two rush forward and help pull him to safety. Using another branch, they dislodge the rest of the camouflage and skirt the fairly benign, yet skillfully hidden, hole that's been dug to frustrate trespassers. Following the goblins’ trail, the five come across a large cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense brier thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right-hand side of the stream.

Vondal's held breathe is promptly released once the others ahead help the poor dwarf up. "Hanseath! Have mercy on us already." He chuckles quietly as the group carry on past the trap. As the journey progresses Vondal grows less and les ill-at-ease after the whole ambush. But then the group see the cave in the distance, and all the original tension starts flooding back in.
He too took a moment to see if he at heard any sign of Goblins in wait before turning to the others. "I do not know about you, Brothers. But this just seems to easy." Vondal glances back to Nif, and with a furrowed brows looks back to the others. "I hesitate to say this, but... shall me and Nif check out other side at least?"
Should/Can we all roll perception and make it a group check deal? Or go off the one at advantage with others helping?
