(OOC: I think it's me next, and assuming nothing momentous happens...)
Nif, seeing that the others seem to have the bugbear at their mercy, scoots around the melee to the top of the stairs and collects his crossbow, before he forgets where he left it.

Vondal winces, but wouldn't outright shirk from Karl's outrage. Instead, he'd say in a hurry. "Blighter is tougher than he looks! Chased him as far as larger cavern back towards the end, after plugging him twice."He explained. "But slipped into larger room he did. With statue. Looked like dead end, but not sure. Didn't wanna rush in there if he has friends waiting there."If that's about all he manages to get out before Karl and the rest are moving to give chase, Vondal immediately tries to put himself between them.
"Might be dead end. Might not. But either way, if there's more than drow -- If even a drow, like other one -- then we can't simply rush. Nif. Check up north side of cavern here. If see another path heading west, then come back to me. Hammer(Adrom) and Uncle, you go back to intersection and keep watch. If it turns out there's other way, maybe we.. maybe we make pincer maneuver, yes? Yes! Now let's go."

Nif, half the bolts you shot may be collected during this time.
Assuming Nif also agrees to the plan, the rogue hoofs it to the northwestern corner of the cavern with the ravine and there is, indeed, another passage heading west. He carefully climbs a flight of stairs to a short zigzag section of corridor. Looking around the next corner and up another flight of stairs, he can see a large space 30 feet away, but with no light, his darkvision doesn't let him see anything of note at this distance. Something catches his eye, so he hunkers down (at the bottom of the stairs) and moves to the other wall and looks up again. There is a closed door at the top of the stairs.
Nif, collecting the bolt that had mostly passed through the bugbear's head, wipes it clean on the bugbear's clothing and replaces it in his quiver. He then proceeds to the location as described above in post #3556. He waits a few seconds longer to see if there is any movement near that door (perception: 21) and if nothing he moves stealthily up the stairs (Stealth: 15) to see beyond. Assuming nothing out of the ordinary occurs, he nips back down the stairs - carefully - and returns to Vondal and reports his findings.

If Nif is able to report back without issue, Vondal muses over the findings quickly, before nodding and taking out his stone, whispering a message to Karl. "This is Vondal speaking. Brother Nif found other way. You and Adrom can proceed further down hall, but stay out of sight door for now. Instead, call into other room and keep their focus on you, while me and Nif see about other way. Will message again after... You can reply to this message." The message delivered, Vondal updates Nif on the plan, and asks him to show him the way to the door.
Before possibly bungling things though, he stops short of taking the second flight of stairs, and waits a few moments. If he could either hear Karl shouting, or after the few moments passes, that's when he tries to sneak up the second set of stairs. (Stealth: 8.) If all goes well from there, the gold dwarf scrutinizes the door for a moment or two, before glancing to Nif. "Think we take peek?" He whispered, gesturing to the door.
IN an alternate timeline, if at least a minute passes without an update from Nif, Vondal would try to message Nif for an update. If that too fails, then he'd update Karl that's something is wrong, and to fall back to him, so the three could go find Nif together.

(@DDP: Assuming there's no counterplan put forth, Nif and Vondal should be by the door/stairs hidden for the moment, deciding whether to try the door or not. And Karl and Adrom should be around 16H calling into the room/making noise to keep attention on their direction, if they agreed with Von's planning. So, all depending on their response.)
Karl is happy to be in 16H (see post #3563) but he is starting to tap his foot ever so quietly with impatience as he waits for something to happen. He turns to Adrom soon and says "if somethin' aint 'appening soon, I'm gunna make somethin' 'appen!"

Nif thinks a little caution is in order, so he signals Vondal to be silent and places his ear against the door at the top of the stairs to have a listen.

Stealth for Nif: 18
Nif, you don't hear anything at the door. Looking into the big room at the top of the stairs, however, you can see quite a bit. On the opposite end of the room, between two pillars is a writing desk of some sort. Standing guard on either side are two bugbears, who look ready for something, but don't appear to notice you ... or they're good at faking it.
Only Nif can see them, as his darkvision is superior to the rest of you.

Vondal returns to the beating room, and between him and Karl, the last bugbear is finally dropped.
What next?
After collecting his crossbow, Nif asks "What happened to the drow?" and proceeds to look around for any quarrels that can be salvaged.
