OOC: Hold up, everyone! Ha ha! You're all very ready to attack, and that's great, but there's an order to these things. I guess I should have explicitly said we're in initiative. Zander, I had already rolled initiative for everyone, but I'll go ahead and use yours instead. Everyone should remember in the future, though, that I do that to keep things moving along. I still need to know where Einar (if Knight can supply that, otherwise I'll put him in the driver's seat), Karl and Nif are so I can position your markers on the map. I put Vondal on road on the left side of the cart and Zander on the back, left quadrant on the cart. I'm guessing Karl was on the ground since you said "charges", but tell me for sure.
Vondal sees ... two medium-sized figures dressed in plate mail with goblin-ish faces in front of the cart and Klarg, the bugbear, behind the cart. He looks very happy to see you.
Caught lying about lazily, Zander tosses a magical fireball behind the cart at the sound of Klarg's voice without taking the time to aim. The fireball flies by Klarg harmlessly.
"C'mon Klang Ding Dong or whatever your name is — let's play!" Karl says as he enters a rage and charges the bugbear (F11). He swings his club, but the bugbear is able to dodge out of the way.
DM roll: 3
Einar leaps off the wagon and runs back toward Klarg (F9), also entering a rage. He wields his battleaxe in both hands and swings at the bugbear. (Battleaxe attack: 9; damage: 13 slashing damage) As Klarg is recovering from his dodge of Karl's attack, Einar's axe is able to carve away some of the bugbear's hairy hide.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Nif, not that it matters with that roll, but remember that you attack at disadvantage any foe in direct sunlight or if you are in direct sunlight.
Fumble roll for Nif: 12
6-8. Loose String. Your string comes loose. You lose this attack. Starting next turn you can make a sleight of hand check DC15 to fix it. Each attempt takes one turn.
This seems familiar ...
As Nif pulls back on his crossbow in order to fire it, the string comes loose, and the bolt flies into the air and lands five feet away.
Klarg raises his morningstar in an attempt to wail on Einar. (Attack: 17; damage: 5 piercing damage), but the barbarian is able to deflect the attack with his battleaxe.
The (red) mail-clad humanoid wields its longbow and fires at Vondal. (Attack: 23; damage: 10 piercing damage)
Simultaneously, the (blue) mail-clad humanoid wields its longbow and fires at Nif. (Attack: 12; damage: 5 piercing damage)
Fumble roll for Red: 15
6-8. Loose String. Your string comes loose. You lose this attack. Starting next turn you can make a sleight of hand check DC15 to fix it. Each attempt takes one turn.
This seems REALLY familiar ...
The (red) individual's string springs as it pulls back on its longbow, fowling up its shot. The (blue) individual is able to launch its attack, but the sound of its comrade's weapon malfunction distracted it, and the arrow sails into the woods a good four feet to Nif's left.
Vondal rushes the man that shot him while he still fumbles with his string, and goes to whack him upside the head. Then with an almost artful flourish, he sweeps the weapon about and holds it between both hands for a defensive posture. "I'll hold these two here! Take care of Klarg quick!"
(If further than 35 ft, Vondal's action will be to Dash in close, then spend ki for the dodge action. Ranged attacks will be at disadvantage while he is within melee of the two armored individuals)

Vondal, as you rush forward, the features of your foe come into focus; the two mail-clad individuals are hobgoblins. Your bow is deflected by the (red) hobgoblin's armor, but you stand ready to defend yourself against any incoming attacks.
OOC: I just realized I never uploaded a map, so Nif wouldn't have known where the sun is, and Vondal wouldn't know how far he was from his attacker. Here it is:
Sildar turns in the wagon, rummages through the cargo, and pulls the longsword out of its box. He then stands and looks at their attackers, sizing them up.
"You take all my fun away!"Karl yells at Zander. He then smacks his mace - none to gently - against Klarg's head in an effort to knock him out (non lethal damage).
Attack: 21 Damage: 8
Karl turns to Einar and says "'ere you finish this bloke off"giving a none to gentle kick at Klarg's prone body, "I'll go help out up front"as he moves off to K12.
OOC: Klarg's not prone yet. The effects of command don't happen until the afflicted's next turn. Probably IRL, the other players wouldn't know if the spell was successful or not until the target's next turn. You all just had the opportunity to see it ahead of time (will try to remember to not roll for it until the target's turn in the future). Klarg isn't prone, and if you move away from him, I don't see any rule that would keep him from taking an AoO, Karl. Do you still want to move to K12?
(I mean, Zander was visibly doing some sort of hocus pocus, and his skin was getting all black-veiny. They'd probably think something was up, but ouldnt be sure.)

If I edit post it will probably cause the dice roller to have a hissy fit and call me a cheat. Karl doesn’t make smartalec comment. His hit and damage should be considered lethal. He stays put.

Zander stands and walks out of the carriage(G10), points disdainfully at Klarg, and says, "Grovel, wretch."
Klarg is suddenly overcome with the strange compulsion to do just that!
