Folari looks confused, "Nobles...? This has never made sense to me... why would you have someone in charge based on their heritage? Goliaths just have the best of the best as leaders...". He shrugs as he follows the trail.
Sildar replies, "Last I heard the town's leadership was pretty simple,, just an elected townmaster, not a lot of formal laws though. I would suspect Iarno has managed to get things better organized, he always was an ambitious fellow."

Jaelryn replies to Kelsier, “Well, it’s fortunate then that we have run into each other. This sounds like it will get interesting.” Jaelryn takes it upon herself to climb up in the back of the wagon and makes herself comfortable. She pulls out a leather book and begins reading.
"I hope you do get to meet him, but I do fear his lack of response means the worst. But look, we approach the town!"
The rutted track emerges from a wooded hillside, and you catch your first glimpse of Phandalin. The town consists of forty or fifty simple log buildings, some built on old fieldstone foundations. More old ruins — crumbling stone walls covered in ivy and briars — surround the newer houses and shops, showing how this must have been a much larger town in centuries past. Most of the newer buildings are set on the sides of the cart track, which widens into a muddy main street of sorts as it climbs toward a ruined manor house on a hillside at the east side of town.
As you approach, you see children playing on the town green and townsfolk tending to chores or running errands at shops. Many people look up as you approach, but all return to their business as you go by.
Sildar seems much more at ease.
“My friends,” he says, “let us secure lodgings. I’m told the local inn is very quaint.”

The wagon, still full of supplies, stops in front of the inn. Sildar hops out and says "Let me go see about some rooms. I think the Shrine is just across the road."

Kelsier climbs out with Sildar. “I’ll come with you. The Lady of Fortune and I... are at odds, it seems. My family has seen large amounts of bad luck in the past few months.”
Amy and Hexody approach the small stone shrine. A young elf woman is inside, and she says, "Greetings and welcome to the Shrine of Luck! Tymora's blessing be upon you! Can I help you with anything today?"
Kelsier, Sildar and Jaelryn enter the inn, a large, newly built roadhouse of fieldstone and rough-hewn timbers. The common room is filled with locals nursing mugs of ale or cider, all of them eyeing you with curiosity. Sildar speaks to the proprietor, a short, friendly young human male, and arranges a room for himself. He turns to you and says, "I'm going to retire for the night, Toblen, the owner, says he has five more rooms available. I'll be up and out early tomorrow, meet me at the Townmaster's Hall for your reward for rescuing me.

"Greetings, I am Sister Garaele, caretaker of this humble shrine. as far as help goes, aside from someone doing something about these blasted bandits, I do have a mission to accomplish, but I could use some help. There is a banshee that lives to the east. I need someone to go to her lair and persuade her to answer a question. I tried and she failed to appear for me."

Jaelryn takes a seat near any locals in the bar. “Evenin’ friends, was wondering if I could ask you good folk about the town. Mostly just where I could find supplies if I needed to, and also if any of you’d be willing to provide information about the bandits I hear are around the area.”
Shrine: "Just the location of an item that has been lost. Would you be interested in helping me?"
Inn: You speak with Freda, a Weaver. "Barthen's Provisions should have the basics, but the Lionshield Coster has some things Barthen won't deal with. It's tricky, trying to stay open with the Redbrands hassling everyone. If it's mining equipment you're after, you could try Halia Thornton at the Phandalin Miner's Exchange. Halia probably has something used for a bargain. It's kinda funny, but she never complains about trouble from the Redbrands."

Folari walks up to the bar in the Inn, "First thing's first Toblen... I need food!" He laughs while patting his belly at the innkeeper. "A plate of meat and some ale would go down a real treat, good sir...".

Kelsier just nods to Sildar, shrugging off the other comments. “That‘s good to hear. I do hope we get to meet this Iarno. Shall we?”

"I would like to go see the shrine of Tymora, that is why I came here."
Hexody looks at Amy with admiration. "I am sent by Seraphina, herald of Milil to restore his shrine that has been befouled."

"Which shrine? Tymora? I suppose I'd be interested in seeing it too," says Hexody.
“I’ll tag along as well if there are no objections. I’d like to get the lay of the land as it were,” says Jaelryn as they approach the inn.
