After what seems like an eternity, the party sets off down the track on what is a failry bleak day. There is a strong cold wind (-2 on missile fire) blowing from the north. Vark is driving Golemogote, Lukian and Ebonitus are in the front of the Howdah, Devin and Toruun in the back and D.O.R.K. and Beedo are in the cart.
About mid-morning, Vark whispers something to Golemogote and the elephant comes to a stop. At the same time, Ebonitus and Lukian both notice the bushes move off to the right-hand side of the path.
"Ah~ We--?"A half-sleep Beedo starts to say, but is caught off by D.O.R.K covering his mouth. Before he can truly start squirming out of her grip, she gets in his face, and motions for silence. While he grudgingly cedes the point to start quietly getting his bow ready, the Red Lady's Operative began more actively scanning the horizon for trouble behind the group. At least until Vark got moving, or the all clear had been called out.

Vark turns to Devin “I thought I heard something in Orcish along the lines of shush you fool and then somebody else replying who you calling a fool. Finally there was third voice put a sock in it you two.”
Lukian is convinced something is hiding in the bushes but can not determine actual numbers.
Ebonitus, looks around carefully looking for clues as to what was happening in the bushes, but does not confine his search to just that side of the path. He also looks carefully to the left and the front. (OOC: assuming investigation is my best skill for this)
He investigates by careful observation, 16

Pointing and using hand signals, Ebonitus points out the ruts to the others in the Howdah.
Having climbed into the Howdah with some aplomb previously, Ebonitus realises that he is not sure how to get down from the elephant. He would like to, on the left side, but needs to be shown how first. He indicates this to Lukian using hand signals.

Put your spoiler here.
We've been spotted lads so Charge! Let's get them? but not the pointy ear - ee's a friend.
Though her first instincts is to get out and perhaps even challenge the more armored of the Orcs, D.O.R.K accomplishes the first half prior to lighter frame prompting her to look down at her being. "... Unfortuante... Aco.... Vark. Execute Death Plunge Manuever. Beedo. Covering fire on the less armored ones."She requests just before she herself calls upon a red veil of protection about Golemgote, then try to ignite an Orc in holy fire.
Action: Cast (Cantrip)Sacred Flame(Dex Save: 14) on Orc(7), or take 8 radiant damage.
The Orc that was targeted by D.O.R.K. (Dex save = 2) watches in horror as a column of flame descends on him from above but he manages to just duck to one side. Knowing that he is not supposed to attack Lukian he manages to make his way to the rear of the cart where he flings his Javelin at (1-2 Beedo or 3-4 D.O.R.K.) [3] at Beedo (Attack: 13 Damage: 4) but obviously shaken by his near heat treatment throws the weapon wildly.
{OOC: I'm giving the people in the cart a +1 to AC for partial cover from the sides and back of the cart}
Meanwhile the armour on the big Orc seems to absorb the damage from Devin's Firebolt and as for the large blue star - well it just whistles past its head.
Four more Orcs follow the first Orc to the cart where they fling Javelins (2 from the left side and 2 from the right side) at the cart's occupants [3, 4, 4, 4). Two of them target D.O.R.K. (Attack: 4 Damage: 8 & Attack: 5 Damage: 9 and two target Beedo (Attack: 12 Damage: 9 & Attack: 16 Damage: 7) who both find themselves pierced by two javelins each.
Ebonitus, Toruun and Vark you're up in that order.
As Ebonitus is still not sure how to get down from the howdah, he says to himself "Well I guess I'll just have to do what I can from here." Being a little concerned that the armour on the big orc seems to have absorbed the fire bolt, he thinks we need to give this one more try.
So Ebonitus fires a guiding bolt at the big orc in plate hoping that radiance might work where fire did not: Attack:
23 Damage: 18.
Then as a bonus action he causes a glowing mace to appear by the head of the Big orc and swing towards its head. Casting spiritual weapon :
Attack: 20 Damage: 12
Well if that doesn't do some damage, I guess we'll have to take him out by hand.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Torunn scans the orcs and spots the one in plate. He grins and in a prayer to Gond he says, "Gond show this creature the problem with encasing yourself in metal." He then points at the orc and casts Heat Metal
OOC: DM, according to the rules, "A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack. Likewise, if a creature’s saving throw succeeds against a targeted spell you sense that the spell has failed." Can you let me know which of these orcs failed and which saved against Lukian's calm emotions spell, please?
