"'old on. Bring'im down. Somebody take reigns."Vark says as much to the others in the howdah before calling out,"Khubama."As soon as Mr. G knelt down, the goblin clamors off, and with javelin in hands, marches his way towards the closest set of Orcs with his shield held up in a defensive posture. Along the way he taps javelin against shield in a threatening posture.
Movement(Vark): Climb down Golemgote and move towards nearest Orc.
(OOC: Sorry guys but James (aka DirtyDogP) has pointed out that I have misinterpreted how his spell works. I have therefore decided to wind back the clock to post #1865)
As Lukian's spell goes off Vark listens intently. He turns to the players in the howdah and says "I was right there's Orcs in the bushes over there. One has just said 'Bosses are we gunna charge' and one with a deep voice replies 'nah we got easier fish to fry' let'em go onto Yartar'."
Beedo and D.O.R.K say nothing, assuming they can even hear the conversation from the Howdah in the first place, but instead stay at the ready with weapons in hand or a spell in mind.

The party decides to ignore the Orcs, who it seems are also ignoring them, (100 XP each) and continue on their journey. Nothing happens that night and the next day they wake to an overcast day which threatens to rain. In the late afternoon it sets in and everybody becomes very wet. Golemogote seems to enjoy tramping in every puddle he can find and D.O.R.K. and Beedo are coated in mud.
Eventually through the rain you see the walls of a fortified city - which you know to be Yartar - emerge from the drifts on far bank of the east bank of the River Surbrin.
Information that Devin and Ebonitus (still waiting on your back story though) know. Lukian you may know some of this as well
Yartar () was a prosperous and increasingly crowded fortified city standing on the east bank of the River Surbrin. The city was connected by a fortified bridge wide enough to accommodate two wagons with room to spare to a citadel on the west bank. There, the Evermoor Way (linking Triboar and Silverymoon) crossed the Surbrin. Yartar was a crossroads trading town, so it was always bustling with caravans entering and leaving its walls. It was renowned as a place for merchants, smugglers, mercenaries, and spies from all over the North to meet and conduct business.
The Surbrin Trail ran north from the city through the hills on the other side of the Dessarin Valley toward the ruins of Nesmé. The trail hugged the eastern bank of the River Surbrin rather than enter the Evermoors.
The ruler of Yartar, the Waterbaron, was elected for life. The Waterbaron in 1366 DR was Belleethe Kheldorna. This position was previously held by Alahar Khaumfros, who had inherited the position from his father. The Waterbaron in 1491 DR was Nestra Ruthiol, a Tethyrian noblewoman woman in her fifties with a reputation for being shrewd and farseeing. Nestra believed that the Lords' Alliance was necessary for Yartar's survival and prosperity. She was aware of the Harper and Zhentarim presence in the city, but chose to intervene only when the wellbeing of her citizens is at risk. Ruthiol was accused of murdering a former lover, Kaidrod Palyr, after arguing publicly with his wife, Tiarshe. She was cleared of the charges.
In 1491 DR, Yartarans were abducted by the elemental cults for conversion or sacrifice. These were mostly people who would not be missed; the poor and drunkards. The victims were held in the Temple of Howling Hatred. Members of the Hand of Yartar acquired a devastation orb from the Lord Protector of Triboar's vault. They attempted to auction it off to the highest bidder. In the three years between Shieldmeet years, Yartar would host the Hiring Fair on a field north of the city. This event would draw thousands of outcasts, wanderers, barbarians, criminals, and adventurers from the surrounding area to sell their labor to farmers, merchants, nobles, and anyone else that may have needed workers or bodyguards. It was common for adventuring bands to form at the fair.
Beedo complains over every puddle splashed in his face. Funnily enough, not because it was splashed in his face, but it was there because of someone else and not his own hands! Or so he attested at least. But either which way, he took cowering under whatever tarp or hay happened to be in the back, leaving a mostly unperturbed D.O.R.K to keep watch on the back. As she is still mulling over whether it was a proper thing to have not dealt with Orcs, having eventually asked about the hold up prior, the living construct is drawn from her thoughts at the sight of the wall.
Though she looks to the howdah, wanting to shout something again, D.O.R.K resolves to wait until the group had at least found lodgings for Mr. G.

Devin looks at the city they approach. "Everlund is past this location by quite a ways. I don't see a need to enter the city unless someone has gear they need to get. Though this would be a good place to get armor for D. We could camp outside the walls and tomorrow find a blacksmith to get armor."
Vark glances back and gives Devin a bemused look. "Mn.... wat fer we doin' outside? Fey 'ere 'ates gobbos and elephonse or somethin' more 'en past places?"He asks curiously. "'nd, not dat ya'll 'aven't already proven yerselves to all, um... focused on only on da picture 'n all, but... ain't ya want'n to warn at least the Big Boss 'round 'bout wat 'appen a ways back? Or da Orcs on da road? Or maybe ask fer a bit of 'elp wit da mission somewayz?" He asked, surprising at least some folk. Because it is the most the goblin has ever said throughout the ENTIRE journey.
"Well, the way I see it we aren't trying to go to Yartar, our destinations are further east. So why tempt trouble? We'll stay outside the city, camp for the night and move on tomorrow. If D wants to get armor we can take care of that tomorrow. If we see any guards we'll let them know of the orcs."
Lukian will walk into town as soon as the group finds a place to camp. He will specifically look for any houses of worship, but thinks Vark's suggestion of warning the town about the orcs is a considerate one (though, he would never tell the goblin so). He will keep an eye out for some kind of government building. He'll also make note of any blacksmiths to pass along that information to Devin.
While confused in the begining once preparations began to set up camp outside, her like-minded questioning of and subsequent repetition of answers at least compels the construct to say to all, "Be things as they may, we should at least consider entering the town, and offering our services in some fashion to the locals. Preferably, ones involving traveling further up Evermore way in order to at least acquire further funding. Which, as it stands, we will not be able to rely upon solely the goodwill of people, and any donations as we all might have in the past. In addition: My armoring alone, if it is to be sufficient, will cost a great deal. And while some here have expressed a willingness to 'chip in' in regards to that, it is prefer such is limited or mitigated in some fashion."She expresses as much to the group at large.
It is at that point that Beedo and Vark perk up at the mention of coin, remembering only then a lack of payment for some time now. The two then began whispering among themselves in goblin.

The party starts to set up camp on the far side of the river (see map). Not long after setting up Camp, Lukian accompanied by ??? sets off to go into Yartar. As he leaves the bridge behind but before entering the gates of the city he passes through a run down area. Sitting beside the road but constantly checking and the traffic - occasional wagons, etc. - that is making its way into Yartar is a small very woebegone looking halfling child.
"I do not wish to enter the city. But if you need funds for armor let me know. I am willing to help as this is a group effort." Devin says as he settles into the camp.
D.O.R.K pantomimed sighing in defeat. Once camp preparations were well taken care of, including that of Mr. G., she leaves Vark of keeping guard over it with the rest. Beedo, on the other hand, she had not even bothered to recruit, having seen him immediately begun observing Torunn's work on his latest project.
As the two are making there way inside, if Lukian hadn't stopped for the Halfling Child, then she would at least break away to do so. If the child had not run from her approach alone, she kneels beside him and asks, "Introduction: I am a Dedicated Operative of the Red Knight. But you may call me D.O.R.K."She offers a handshake. "Inquiry: Are you in need of assistance? Additional Inquiry: If not, might you be available to assist me and my companion(s)?" She gestures to Lukian and whoever else might've come along.
