Day 6, First Ten-day, Month of Elient (The Fading)
It is a crisp clear morning with blue skies and a weak sun as the party sets off. They are still trending generally north and climbing higher into the hills. The wind is blowing from the north and gusting up to 25 mph (-2 on ranged attacks). The cold wind from the north keeps the temperature down to the low forties (Farenheit). Not long after lunch as the party is rounding a series of large boulders, Lukian’s keen ears pick up something almost like a muttered chant with the same words being repeated over and over again “kvinnor går alltid först, får aldrig tillräckligt med mat, alltid hungriga!” Before Lukian can do anything from the other side of the boulders 8 creatures (1 x Hill Giant, 3 x Ogres & 4 x Bugbears) appear. Spotting the party, the Hill Giant yells out “Mat! Förstår!”
Initiative: Lukian, Catcha (Bugbear #1), Chasa (Bugbear #2), Vark, Finda (Bugbear #3), D.O.R.K., Devin, Gutta (Ogre #3), Toruun, Grabba (Ogre #2), Ebonitus, Beedo, Hungryfella (Hill Giant), Unta (Bugbear #4) & Gotcha (OOC: because the wind was blowing from the north I gave the party members ‘advantage’ when calculating initiative)
Lukian you’re up.
Translation from Giant

Lukian, who has been having a long mental conversation with Dawnbringer stands in the howdah, points his arm with Dawnbringer's hilt in it at the crowd of creatures, causes the sun blade to extend, and yells, "Halt, strangers! Speak your peaceful intent lest we defend ourselves!"
Ready action: If Catcha advances as if to attack, before they uncluster, he will release a fireball to hopefully catch them all in it. DEX save DC13 or 26 (half on save)
As Lukian gives his warning the lead bugbears halt for a second, look back at Hungryfella, and then at the party. You can almost see the gears turning in their heads who is the grater threat, the hill giant is a known threat whereas the party is unknown. The bugbears advance javelins ready for throwing and Lukian releases the fireball. He is able to get all of the bugbears and the three ogres but the hill giant is just outside the blast radius. Catcha (Bugbear #1) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 11 rolled - collapses to the ground a charred hulk Chasa (Bugbear #2) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 6 rolled Finda (Bugbear #3) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 16 rolled Unta (Bugbear #4) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 16 rolled Gotcha (Ogre #1) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 9 rolled Grabba (Ogre #2) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 17 rolled Gutta (Ogre #3) - DC 13 [Dex] to save & 11 rolled
Despite the training that D.O.R.K. and others have been doing with Golemogote he has never been exposed to the noise and light of a fireball going off so D.O.R.K. please make an Animal Handling roll (Medium Difficulty DC15) then we'll see what happens.

Vark allowed himself a moment to wonder why the boss hadn't just let Golemgote cut loose. But then realizing that could end in disaster while he and Beedo yet rode handcrowbow in the back, the goblin visibly paled at the narrowly avoided consequence. With a grim look of understanding, he bids a Beedo a silent goodbye just prior to leaping out of the cart to race ahead of Golemgote, much to his fellow goblin's surprise.
He weaves around Mr. G as much as he can all to inevitable place himself between Mr.G and the nearest Bugbear....
At least that's the thought that passes his mind for but a moment before he decides it to be better to dash to the nearest wall, climb up to the top, and then... go prone, waiting for his chance to get in close to some ugly Ogre heads.

I'm going to go ahead and roll a DEX save for staying on my feet while Dork is calming Golem. You can determine what DC and what happens if he fails, if anything.

Devin, looking to burn off some frustrations from the last few days, slams the butt of his staff on the ground and it is suddenly sheathed in a light blue flame. (BA - Shillelagh).
He then moves up the path and strikes out at the first enemy he comes across. As he moves up the path he twists the staff in his hand allowing the blue flame to whir slightly. If D has also engaged in melee he'll try and position himself to flank.
Staff - Attack: 24 Damage: 6 - Adv roll if flank happens: 18
(I'm assuming Golemgote goes on D.O.R.K's turn for simplicities sake, so with that in mind..)
D.O.R.K, once Mr. G was back in control, sought to calm him further in loosening a hand on the reigns to trace on her head, and then gently placed a then glowing red hand upon the back of his head. Rather than the usual gossamer mantel falling into place, the blankets and various adornments upon him seemed to turn red and disorienting to look at for those with hostile intent. "This operative would suggest those not wishing to risk being thrown off to disembark... especially Brother, if you intend to use that weapon of yours. Least you panic him with loud noises. Beedo! You and Vark take to the cliffsides!"She called back not knowing Vark was way ahead of her.
The quick warning given, D.O.R.K would call out "Khubama!" to make it easier disembark, if albeit at greater risks for her giant champ. But if the command is readily followed, she then pours her heart and soul into another blessing that would see Mr. G's eyes glow red and slightly more set in DETERMINATION from the Mother, the Goddess of Strategy's, Favor.
Bonus Action: Cast (1st level)Red Viel on Mr. G. (Wis 14 Save for those targeting Mr. G. If failed, must target another creature for same attack if available)
Action: Command Mr. G to kneel for disembarking purposes.
Getting Golemogote to kneel is part of the elephant's move so I'll allow D.O.R.K. to dismount - as well as casting his spells - into square J12. Meanwhile Devin dismounts - half movement - once Golemogote kneels and advances up the path swing his staff. It connects with Chasa (Bugbear #2) and cracks into its head collapsing him to the ground. Gutta (Ogre #3) pushs his way through the trees on the far side of the path but is unable to get past the two remaining Bugbears and finishes his move in O9.
(@Grant: Oh no. D.O.R.K is staying atop to keep him in control, and possibly do a very bad idea next round with Golemgote. Everyone else was to abandoned ship while he was kneeling down, least they wished to jump off.)

Torunn will look at his new maul, and gauge how far the bugbears are. "Not this time.." he sighs as he climbs down the howdah and fires his musket at one of the bugbears.
Attack: 20 Damage: 12
After firing the musket, he slings it across his shoulder and regathers his maul, pointing it at the bugbears and calls out, "Here is a taste of what is to come from Gond's new blessing!"and a spectral version of the hammer flies out of the maul and into the same bugbear. (Spiritual Weapon)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Despite the strong wind the musket ball flies true and hits one of the bugbears but fails to drop it. The spectral form of the Maul whistles harmlessly through the air.
The bang of the musket and the cloud of black smoke right next to Golemogote startles him (D.O.R.K. roll another animal handling - DC 10).
Grabba (Ogre #1) comes stomping down the path, the bugbears nimbly step out of its way not that the Ogre cares or not, and reaching Devin swings his Great club at him - Attack: 18 Damage: 8. Devin frantically tries to get his shield in the way and it absorbs a fair amount of the damage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ebonitus nimbly dismounts from Mr G. to the left and moving to where he can observe the battlefield (G11?), He calls for the hammer of the Earthmother to come thumping down on Ogre #1 (the one that just struck at Devin) casting spiritual weapon for Attack: 25 Damage: 12

"Calm, calm, Mr. G. Emisa. E-mi-saa." D.o.r.K called, hoping to ease the frightened critter.
