Is Mullo flying right now? 1=yes, 2=no: 2
Mullo and Haetone are both aboard and by each other. Haetone would be along the edge, with Mullo on the inside side of her. So, let's say Haetone is along the edge in the middle of the starboard side and Mullo is five feet in (to port) beside Haetone.
D.O.R.K would be top deck as well in anticipation of nearing the area/to help keep a lookout for signs of danger on approach near the prow of the ship. And assuming there had been time enough to work out how to even use the ballista(mounted harpoon?) with the aid of the original crew over the past couple days, she'd make sure it was at least loaded that day.
(S/N: As per usual, D.O.R.K would've cast a 3rd level Aid on Ebonitus, Mullo, and herself in the morning. @DirtyDogP & @Whatwall don't forget to update your sheet when you get the chance, assuming your characters would've accepted the boon-.)

From their locations on the starboard and port bows respectively Devin and D.O.R.K. spot two creatures leap into their air and fly directly at them Devin does a double take and then yells at D.O.R.K. "I could be wrong but I'm counting three heads on each?"
"That is... most certainly not good. Ilnezya! Have us retreat for now. Everyone else, do what you can to help accelerate the process, but otherwise be prepared if for if these creatures prove to be as persistent as those gryphons."D.O.R.K called out to the others in short order, as she herself began a soft prayer of protection for her own benefit while moving to get better eyes on the creatures. Then she moved to try and brace herself on the deck. Devin hadn't exactly been clear on the size of the creature. But in the event they proved big and strong enough to possibly knocking someone overboard, she intended to be as ready as could be.

Ilezenya turns the wheel hard to port and pulls the level to open the pipes that will increase speed. He will execute a 180-degree turn and lower altitude, heading directly away from the incoming creatures and presenting as small of a target as possible.
Mullo (Nature roll = 15) recognises that the creatures are Chimera's - a horrific blend of dragon, lion and goat. Not only are they a threat to Haetone as Pegasus and Hippogriffs are their favourite prey but there will also be no communicating with them.
The airship makes an about turn and heads away from the cliffs. Unable to close the distance the Chimera - which Devin had read somewhere once were highly territorial - returned to the ledge.
Ilezenya will slow the airship and commence a lazy circle beyond the chimera's 'territory', gaining altitude slowly. He calls out to the others - "Well, at least now we know they're there. Wanna go back and shoot first this time?"

Seeing that the chimera aren't going to follow, Devin looks down below to see what is below the village and what it looks like, places to land and approach on foot.

"Not if we can help it. If that's the village of Yakfolk, we really aren't interested in visiting them. We were told Ironslag is below the village. Let's see if we can approach on foot and find Ironslag."
Ebonitus is in agreement with Devin, approaching Ironslag on foot may be a little less conspicuous. After alighting from the vessel, Ebonitus approaches D.o.R.K. and casts Warding Bond on the construct, saying "May the earth mother protect you from harm as we progress towards Ironslag."

"I... would not be so certain of that, Devin. As it is unlikely they know nothing at all of the giants residing below their very home." D.O.R.K interjects. "But in either event, caution would be prudent, as I doubt these three headed creatures would be less tempted to destroy our ship than those griffon riders." She further elaborates.
Unfortunately, after taking a few moments to search her own mental archives for better solutions to their problems, nothing came to mind short of landing in the area as Devin suggested. Even still, having at least caught a glimpse of the village itself, she'd urge the others to keep a look out for any other bridges or trails that might at least have been made use by the Yakfolk to ease their traversal on the way (presumably) to the base of the mountain range.
Once the group touches down once more one way or another, the construct is quick to place a hand on Ebon's shoulder and say, "Hold a moment. I know not off the top of my head how long that particular miracle would last. But mayhaps its best hold off for now?" If Ebonitus still insists after that point, she simply nods in acceptance.

"I thought I saw a large cavern entrance into the mountain by the village...that is most likely where we will find Ironslag. Which means we will most likely have to kill or fight off the chimera anyway. Still, I will maneuver the airship as low and as close to the beginning of the steps up as I can while avoiding the beasts from coming out after us." Ilezenya will steer the ship down first, and then low to the ground.
Ebonitus Nods to D.o.R.K, "It would be prudent to wait for signs of danger, to make full use of the hour's protection. But I will stay close by to ensure that the Earth Mother is able to quickly aid you with her boon at the appropriate time." And so saying, he holds off on the casting of Warding Bond for now.

The party decides to land the airship some distance - 5 miles from the base of the mountain and proceed the rest of the way on foot. As they start unloading their cold weather clothing - it is still well below freezing - the spokesperson for the crew says "make sure you take everything you need as we need to return this craft to our patron!"

Ilezenya would be at the helm.

Does Mullo know what the three-headed creatures are and if she might can talk to them as at least a non-threat?

So, can we assume the city we're seeing is not where we're headed?
Not a city but a small village
