Breathless from the blow, Vark takes a moment to catch it again, and re-affirm his resolve. The Boss Lady needed them now more than ever! He stands on shaky feet, but stands all the same, scimitar in hand, and blood dripping down his face from where one of the spiny bits broke past his shield to just barely knick him. With a battle cry of his own, he takes a leaping stab at the calf, and starts trying to climb up to the duo's shoulder.

"Your death approaches,"Meiva intones, pointing at the ettin. A dolorous bell tolls in its ears.
Toll the Dead: DC 14 Wis save or 12 necrotic damage.
"Now, to prove that point," Meiva continues, raising her arm. A spear of spectral light forms in her right hand, and she hurls it at the ettin, its oak-leaf head glowing with radiance as it flies through the air.

The End of the Battle 1) Beedo aims at the female Ettin and {thanks to the support from Silvanus that Meiva had sought - Bless spell - which blows his arrow straight manages to hit the Ettin} or {despite the support from Silvanus that Meiva had sought - Bless spell fails to hit the Ettin} 2) Suddenly the bell can hear the deep notes of a bell tolling in the vicinity of the Ettin (Wis Save - DC 14 required - 12) and then out of nowhere a glowing spear appears and penetrates deep into the Ettin's midriff 3) Vark manages to slice deep into the Ettin's calf with his scimitar and just as he is about to climb the body he realises that it is falling and he jumps clear. 4) Devin's pre-post not required.
XP all round! 1) Given the number of battles (3) that the party has recently been through, each PC gets 1120 XP each - 280 XP for the Owlbears, 400 XP for Stuffenmouff & Chomp and 440 for the Ma & Pa Ettins) 2)I will call for votes on the RPing experience when the party reaches the outskirts of Secomber which is still at least two days travel away - so please be thinking about how you want to cast your votes.
After taking a few moments to catch their breathes, both goblins arms shoot in the air as they shout at the same time. "MyKill! Hey!" Vrak has to climb over the body to stare down at a fast approaching Beedo glaring daggers at him. However, as soon as the two properly had eyes on one another, they start laughing and crying. "Vark! You almost died again!"Beedo says. "I knooow." Vark howl turns into a more wide-eyed and hysterical laugh. Feigning a sagely nod, Beedo comforts him with a few pats on the back.
"But you know what this mean?"Vark brushes the rest of the blood away from his face, and shakes his head. "Loot! 'nd no one dats gonna complain about it!"The lingering hysteria flees Vark's expression instantly. Both race to the male fallen Ettin despite the female nearby eager to plunder. Even if the only thing they get out with at the end is a couple of Ettin eyes, and big toe for good measure. They might've consider going for the other, but....
During the reunion....
Seeing the giantess fall, D.O.R.K immediately began looking around. "Hostile neutralized... Acquiring new targets.... No further hostiles found. Area Secured. Initiating Clean Up protocols." She mechanically puts away both heartbreaker and shield away, and draws forth Door Knocker. This time even if someone calls out for her, nothing short of physical imepedment or a commanding note to the other clerics words even remotely comes close to stopping her from thoroughly smashing Ettin heads apart. The whole time she works, covering her self in gore and blood, neither the light from the gems or her eyes return..

"I have helped to restore the balance in one way, Lord Silvanus. May I always continue to do so,"she prays, shoulders slumping slightly after having cast such a large spell. Then, seeing D.O.R.K. begin to work, Meiva runs over to the warforged.
"Are you alright?" she asks hesitantly, doffing her shield as she watches D.O.R.K. work more mechanically than usual. If such a thing is possible for a being of metal,Meiva muses internally.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Condition Yellow. Unit remains well within acceptable operating limits."D.O.R.K replies without so much as a pause or a glance in Meiva's direction. By then, the first head on the female Ettin has been so thoroughly smashed to pieces, it would take a miracle to distinguish what was brain and what was once flesh and bone.
If not directly watched then heard, the others hear the two goblins argue over something in goblin by the body of the male Ettin in their native tongue. Eventually, the two come walking out with Beedo look chastised and Vark look rather smug about something. The two both pause seeing D.O.R.K continue to hammer away at heads more thoroughly, and look worriedly next to the other clerics. Beedo shakes it off the concern quickly however, and walks up to Devin. "Here ya go! See'n as 'ow Boss Lady's is... uh.. busy, figured you'd be best one to split the loot." Beedo says, handing over a pouch of 30 dragons and 180 shards with a wide smile.
(@All: If a sleight of hand roll would be necessary for the sly stashing of coin from the goblins, its in the spoiler)
SoH: 18.
If stealth would be more appropriate, add +2, or take this roll: 9 in addition to the above.
Devin wipes his brow and then drops his arms to his side. He walks over to the shimmering blue star that he conjured up. His eyes are litup and he looks at it excitedly.
"Wow! She said she would give me power. But wow! This thing is amazing!"
As the spell ends and it blinks out of existence he laughs.
"That is just so cool!"
He takes the treasure offered to him by Beedo.
"Sure, I can take care of it."
He'll split the treasure up among the 5 of them (6gp and 26sp each) If the goblins give him any questions on a share he'll tell them D will pay them for their service to her.
Once the group has finished with the Ettins, Torunn will head over to Beedo. "Tonight you should be able to start the assembling process for your armour. But first I need you and Vark to go watch Red whilst I have a chat with the other Clerics."
He will then go gather Meiva, Devin and Jaylen. Once they are all at the designated campsite, he will start explaining. "So I am sure you have all noticed some strange behaviours from D.O.R.K. I think I know what the cause is. Back when she was, lets say born, for lack of a better word... Her mind was installed into the mechanical body you see, by the Red Knight who is a goddess of strategy and logic. One of the biggest things that we struggled to teach her is that most situations require thinking in shades of grey rather than black and white. For example, a weapon can be used to subdue an enemy so that we can ask questions rather than outright kill. Whilst she struggled with the concept, we thought she started to understand. You can see this thinking was used when we first encountered the goblins. But now I think, having engaged with rather stupid enemies, namely the owlbears and the Hill Giant, where there was no chance of negotiation, she is confused by the violent approach. Having never encountered a dragon before but hearing bad stories about them, she was once again confused by our peaceful approach, rather than the violent approach we had just recently used. Whilst this kind of thinking and understanding of different situations might make sense to us who have had numerous years, for D.O.R.K who is still relatively young, she is still learning and I think is just very confused with how to approach our current situation."he then pauses to think and allow the others to digest what he has said.
"Yeah but a dragon! We spoke to a dragon! Such amazing magical creatures! I don't know much about them but, wow! It could of eaten us in one bite I bet. We're pretty strong as a group but I doubt we stood much of a chance against it. And it was friendly. It didn't attack us. It just talked to us."
You can tell by Devin's voice he is pretty excited about the dragon.

Meiva nods.
"And would she not know, having heard so much about dragons, that the metallic dragons are almost never evil?"
"It's simple," Jaylen says fatter-of-factly. "We need to remind her that we are always learning from others, so she should observe us and ask questions, if she likes. From there, she can make her own decisions based on her own desires."
Beedo had questioned Devin about it, which would explain why Torunn found him later grumbling something in common while Vark pats him on the shoulder. "Just gotta mix the good in with the bad, did'n ya--Oww! Would'ja stop?!"Beedo barks at Vark after having been elbowed in the side. "Boss Lady's Acolytes. Remember?"Beedo just rolls his eyes at the reply, then gave Torunn some half-hearted sounding,"Aye, aye, BLT."
The two make their way over to the river(stream?) as D.O.R.K had taken it upon herself to cleaned up. A situation that were fine to watch over after finding a spot the wind wouldn't be buffeting them as much.
