(OOC: Looking back at post #4422 , there appear to be some entrances to the mound or are these old dig sites?)
(OOC: That right there was the plan and what had been implied. Then with respect with Mullo(and /not/ implied before now), the next objective would've been to have a look at the spines for any potential symbols or carvings that might suggest where they might've buried anything of import. Actual digging without clues would be more a last resort... but guess too late now. ^_^;)
(@Grant: With the above in mind and failure to dig up anything, presume that taking a look at the spines would be the next objective the following day. And if there's to be any checks involved, Dork at least will burn an Fox Cunning on Mullo(if accepted) for any translation.)
In the wake of any immediate answers from the others, D.O.R.K eventually rises up to say, "This cannot continue. At the rate we are going, we could be at this for days if not weeks. And though this may come as a matter of 'too little too late', as a human I knew once put it, it is preferred we do not disturb the mound any further than absolutely necessary this point."She looks to Mullo in particular. "Not that this was not already the goal, but I believe it is important to reiterate this all the same, least we lose ourselves in the devotion of the task at hand."
She looks then to the others. "In good conscience given the... warning of the dragon, I cannot prepare what may be the necessary miracles to attempt to divine the location of our intended target. But if any of you are of aware of such divination magic, and might be willing to beseech your patron deities, mayhaps it will help? Unless misinterpreted, I believe the relic in question is some form of conch shell. Or alternatively, which I will leave to the discretion of the group, an approximation of what's expected can still be divined."

"I have this power, the power of divination to beseech the Lady to reveal the location of the relic we seek. I will prepare the spell that allows me to Locate Objects. "
The following day, after preparing the spell, Devin moves to the mound and casts the spell
"Lady of Mysteries, I seek your guidance to find a lost relic. Show it to me Lady, I am your faithful servant."
As Devin finishes casting his spell a bevy of small blue stars spring into existence. For five minutes they zip backwards and forwards across the mound covering the its entire surface area before coming back and clustering around Devin almost as if they are waiting for further instructions.
(OOC: For divination you need to describe or name an object that is familiar to you. You sense the direction to the object's location, as long as that object is within 1,000 feet of you)
Having kept near Devin while keep her eyes peeled for any signs of a dragon, D.O.R.K is eventually drawn away from the task at any noise of disappointment from Devin. "Another dead end then? That is unfortunate."Her shoulder sags and head bowed in defeat. "... While this had been within the realms of possibility, I still held onto to.... No. This is no time to despair. Acolyte Mullo?"She turned hoping to find the woman had the Shaman's own ideas not led her elsewhere. "Do you know anything of the tribes near here and where we might find them? Although our previous actions here might have complicated things, they may be our next best bet for a prompter resolution. Otherwise, I fear we may have to abandon this site, and pray the others have yet the key we need with fewer... complications."

"Not much," Mullo admits. "I have met a few of Thunderbeasts. They are ... different. They are the most accepting of outsiders of all Uthgardt. Of all of Uthgar's children, Thunderbeasts are the most likely to help us if that is what we need."
Ebonitus is deep in thought. "If this is the mound from which Harshnag's weapon was taken, then perhaps all the relics from this mound have already been removed." he suggests. "Mullo, do you know what other relics may have been buried here?" he asks. "If so, if you could describe them to Devin, then perhaps he can try to locate them or ascertain that they are not here."

Tirohia te Moana - Level 2 Cleric - What shall we do with the Drunken Sailor?
Ebonitus de Viribus - Level 4 Cleric - The Storm King's Thunder - The Gods Respond.
Mullo reaches into her pouch idly fingering the various objects in there as she ponders Ebonitus' questions.
Spoiler is for Mullo only
DC 5 - Mullo has not heard anything that all of the relics had been removed from the mound DC10 - can give a superficial description of the artifact DC15 - can give a detailed description of the artifact DC20 - knows the history of the artifact
For non Uthgardts the DC classes move up two notches. As a shaman I'm allowing Mullo advantage on the following roll
Mullo's chance - modified by History/Religion (+2) of knowing anything about the possibility of artifacts = 15
The artifact that the party is looking for is a gold plated Fire giant tooth
Mullo is silent. Her face is intense. She appears to either be contemplating something or holding in a fart.
Finally, her eyes brighten, and she whispers, "Thank you, Father." She wraps her fingers around the rough amulet hanging from her neck and does a little hop and step while saying a few words in her native tongue.
DM:
I'll let you write the results.
She's using her own Locate Object to find the item. If it is within 1,000 feet of her, she'll feel it and lead the group to it. If it is not ...
Mullo scowls, but only briefly before turning to Devin. "What we're looking for is a gold-plated fire giant tooth." She holds up a finger to halt the incantation on his lips. "But it isn't here. It's been moved."
As Mullo finishes whatever it was she was doing she starts to climb to the top of the mound. Next to the first spine - almost directly in-line - with where the party had been digging the previous day, she says down to the party or if anybody accompanied her "I think we'll find what we are looking for if we dig here!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Devin grabs his shovel and heads to the top of the mound to join Mullo. D.O.R.K. and Ebonitus clamber up as well. After 7 hours After8 hours Devin - 16 has failed to find anything D.O.R.K. - 15 hears 37 the sound of 80 glass breaking as his shovel hits something. Kneeling down to examine the dirt he discovers the remains of an earthworm that has been cut in half by his shovel is suddenly 2 feet long. Next to the remnants of the earthworm he can make out bits of broken glass in the dirt.
(OOC: Dice roller is playing up again, the numbers as rolled by me were 6, 14, 21, 48 and 6)
"This... I am uncertain of what to make of this."D.O.R.K comments as she stabbed her shovel into the earth well away from the discovery to pull up and offer the remains of the odd earth worm for Ebonitus to examine. Though she had doubts of its significance, such she would not sheer without being questioned first. But regardless, her attention again goes to the broken bits of glass which she'd more meticulously try to uncover and puzzle together to try and determine its original form. "Have a care clearing the earth further about this point, least we break the offering."

"Alright. I'll take it a bit easier. But I'm not going to lie, I'm getting a bit tired of digging. If we don't find it soon I'll need a rest." Devin says as he gets back to digging.

The various party members continue digging a little more carefully and after another 3 hours Ebonitus 24 fails to find anything, but Mullo 22 is more lucky and as she lifts a shovelful of dirt 9, Devin spots a small leather pouch in it.

Before you started digging you could find no - unsurprisngly really - clues where the artifacts might be hidden.

Devin recalls that D mentioned that the relic may be a part of a conch shell and concentrates on that as a description of the relic.
The stars zip off again quickly criss-crossing the mound but they all return back to Devin after about 2 minutes.
