Gruxx, moving to V10 uses 15 of your 30 feet. Moving to V9 would use another 5 feet. From there, while you can't attack the hobgoblin because it is around the stone corner, you're wielding a glaive, which has a 10-foot reach. You could attack the red-haired elf. It leaves you with 10 feet of movement, so you'd be able to move back to V10 and have then used your 30 feet of movement. And since I've ruled you can't hit the hobgoblin from V9, the hobgoblin doesn't get an opportunity attack against you, either. This would keep you stuck in the muck of a very crowded corner, though. What do you think? If you dash, you can get to Q11.
Gruxx's decision will affect Glyn's, so I need to hear his response first.
Gruxx recklessly pushes through Rock and thrusts his glaive forward, narrowly missing Ian. The dark-skinned elf doesn't see the weapon being pushed forward from 10 feet away, and the blade pierces her side, causing her to yell out. The barbarian then backs up behind Rock.
OOC: Glyn, sheathing a weapon is an action, so you wouldn't be able to cast sleep in the same turn if you do so. But you can use the same hand to access material components and to perform the somatic component of the spell, so you can hold your sword in one hand while performing the spell with the other.
Glynquinal steps over behind Gruxx, analyzes the dire situation, and decides to try to even the playing field a little. He draws out a pinch of sand, speaks an arcane phrase and performs a strange hand gesture. There's a shimmer in the air of the triangular corridor and the hobgoblin collapses asleep. The rogue then steps back to U12.
Rock, you can attack if you want! You can step into the same square as a friend, so you can step into Ian's square to attack so long as you don't end your turn there. The hobgoblin is asleep and prone, so melee attacks get advantage, but you'd have to step up beside Ian (in the same square) to attack the hobgoblin. You have to step back (because you can't end your turn in the same square as a conscious character), so both the dark-skinned elf and the wolf would get an opportunity attack if they want (they will). Well, if you're going to hit anyone, you'll have to do that. Do you still just want to hold, or would you like to attack?
Rock, you never said you were raging, so I'll add on that bonus action for this round.
Advantage roll for your attack just in case it's a crit: 15 — oh, 14's enough to kill him, so that was unnecessary ...
Rock's blood begins to boil as he steps up beside Ian, who had already shifted to dodge Gruxx's flail. The dragonborn turns and drops his axe down onto the sleeping hobgoblin's neck. Its head flies off, bouncing off the wall and landing in the corner. Pleased with his work, Rock turns to return to V9.
Still extremely angry about being stabbed by Gruxx, the dark-skinned, red-headed elf takes a swing at Rock as he moves back south. (slam attack: 20, damage: 7 bludgeoning damage) And the wolf also attempts to bite him. (bite attack: 8, damage: 7 piercing damage) Only the elf succeeds. Her fist lands in the middle of Rock's back, but his rage reduces the damage.
Round 4: HDP & Ian, baddies, Gruxx, Glyn, Rock (rage)
I guess it's a possibility. If the right actions are taken and the rolls are good. If you're asking if by just looking at you the wolf will see you as an alpha, the answer is no.
Herr Doctor, seeing his friends hurt, calls upon the his power and casts:
Action: Vicious Mockery at the dark elf, saying something very nasty about its mother in militaristic footwear. Wisdom Saving Throw, DC 13, or take 4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
Bonus Action: Healing Word giving Ian 5 hit points.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Sorry!
WIS save: 14
Herr Doktor aims a jab at the dark-skinned elf, but she brushes off the insult. With the next breath, the bard sends a phrase of healing at Ian, replenishing some of his energy.
Ian then takes two swipes at the wolf with his daggers. Both hit, but the wolf is able to keep the damage to a minimum.
The elf looks menacingly in the direction of Herr Doktor and stomps off that way (to S7 — Ian, you can make an AoO if you want). She swings two fists at the bard. (slam attack #1: 15, damage: 6 bludgeoning damage — slam attack #2: 19, damage: 9 bludgeoning damage) The surprise of her appearance catches Herr Doktor off guard, and she's able to hit him once, but he dodges the next swing.
The wolf attempts to bite Ian again. (bite attack: 13, damage: 7 piercing damage — fumble roll: 7 — WIS save DC12: 21) The wolf misses badly.
Gruxx, you can't get to R6, but you can get to R7.
Ian, your opportunity attack missed.
Glyn, since Gruxx is at R7, you can go to R6 or S6. You rolled with advantage, which I'm guessing is a flanking advantage? Remember that flanking only goes into effect if an ally is directly across from you. So, if you end at S6, HDP will be directly across from you, which will be the only way you can have flanking advantage, so that's where you'll end up.
Gruxx runs around the corner with Glynquinal on his heels. The effort of running takes it out of the barbarian, but Glynquinal is still able to attack. He swings Talon at the dark-skinned, red-headed elf, who is distracted by the other two party members, and cuts into her.
OOC: That works for me. While the position changed slightly, that was my intent. On another note..Wow! that Red Haired Elf has taken some serious shots. Oh my.
Rock slides by Ian to stand beside the wolf. He breathes in a deep breath and exhales a blast of flames at the wolf, but the creature is able to duck down and dodge much of the blast.
Round 5: HDP & Ian, baddies, Gruxx, Glyn, Rock (rage)
OOC - DDP, would you mind posting an updated map here at the top of the round? There has been a lot of movement, and I am not sure I followed it all 100%.
