Following the sounds of movement, Gruxx finds himself within melee range of the (purple) hobgoblin.
Gruxx, you can get as far as K9, which means your glaive can reach the (purple) hobgoblin if you'd like to attack.
HDP, go ahead and post your turn. Any attack requiring an attack roll from outside 60 feet is at disadvantage. However, the only hobgoblin outside of 60 feet from you is the yellow one.
Everyone, until he wakes up and gets up, the red one is prone.
Gruxx runs the (purple) hobgoblin through, finding a sweet spot in the construction of its armor. As the barbarian pulls his weapon back, the creature collapses dead.
Glynquinal seeing one foe drop smiles lightly. One less to deal with. He will move forward to occupy N4. The still prone Hobgoblin (red) is too tempting a target and Glynquinal brings Talon down in an overhead arc two handed.
Talon to hit 6
Talon damage two handed 4
Sneak attack 5
Glynquinal will then Disengage as a Bonus Action and use the rest of his movement to occupy K2
From his spot behind the rock, HDP hums a short little song about encouraging his allies in the face of their foes, and directs his energy toward the enemies, (and also utters a little prayer for Glyn, hoping his friend is feeling very dexterous and can avoid getting hit by the spell). Casting Faerie Fire at the area around M4/M5/N4/N5 in order to get all the enemies lit up.
DEX saving throw, DC 13.
If they fail the DEX save, each object (including the enemies) is lit up with purple light.
ANY attack against them has ADVANTAGE for the duration. HDP will concentrate, and have it last for a minute (in combat, thats like 10 rounds)
OOC, Glyn, you will need to make a DEX saving throw - please roll well so you dont get lit up!!
OOC, DDP you said Ian has 1/4 cover, but the lowest I see in 5e is half cover. HDP is also behind a rock, but you didt say anything about his cover. Should I assume Ian has 1/2 cover behind the bush, and HDP has 3/4 cover behind the rock? I have added custom modifiers in the character sheet so that i can enable/disable cover.
OOC - Is there such a thing as double advantage (prone enemy and fairie fire)? That would let Glyn roll 3d20 and take the best? Or maybe thats just wishful thinking...
Ian, you're right about cover. I was misremembering. HDP doesn't get cover behind the rock because it's only about chair height. If he laid down behind it, that would give him some cover. Ian gets 1/2 cover standing in the bush. Mask of the Wild helps. And, no, there is no such thing as double advantage. And thank you for your point of origin for the spell. It's weird having to choose a point between four squares. Glyn, your sleep spell is the same way, actually. I didn't do it that way this time, but will in the future.
Green DEX save (DC13): 10
Red DEX save: automatically fails because it's asleep
Yellow DEX save: 21
Blue DEX save: 13
Herr Doktor releases his spell, and the (green) hobgoblin, the sleeping (red) hobgoblin, and Glynquinal begin to glow with a purple light, making them easier to see in the dark. The bard cringes a little.
Glynquinal moves to strike down the sleeping hobgoblin, but as they both begin to glow with a purple light, it distracts him, and his blade glances off the creature's armor, doing no damage. Cutting his losses, the rogue moves around to the northwest of the (green) hobgoblin.
READ FIRST: I don't have time to fix this right now, but I forgot the (yellow) hobgoblin is frightened of Glynquinal, so it couldn't have woken up the (red) hobgoblin. I'll have to fix about have of the following later.
Ian's arrow piercing the (green) hobgoblin in its exposed armpit. The elf then attempts to hide behind the branches of the bush.
The (green) hobgoblin was starting to wake the (red) hobgoblin, but when Glynquinal passed right by it, it turns and attempts to hit the elf. (longsword attack: 14, damage: 7 slashing damage ... advantage roll: 11) Ian's arrow lands just as the blade is descending, causing the creature to jerk. Glynquinal leans back and the blade just misses.
The (yellow) and (blue) hobgoblins move toward Gruxx, but when the (yellow) hobgoblin realizes the (red) hobgoblin is asleep, it diverts to wake the sleeping creature before continuing to menace Gruxx (L5).
The (blue) hobgoblin moves up to Gruxx (L6) and swings its sword at the barbarian. (longsword attack: 14, damage: 4 + 9 slashing damage) Gruxx brings his glaive up to deflect the blow, but the hobgoblin looks almost ready for it, and it cuts in under the weapon. Gruxx's rage, however, lessens the damage.
The (red) hobgoblin wakes, quickly takes stock of what's going on around it, gets up, grabs its dropped sword, and moves to Glynquinal's side. It takes a swing at the rogue. (longsword attack: 12, damage: 8 + 7 slashing damage ... advantage roll: 19) The elf groans under the massive damage.
FIX (using as much of above as possible and rolls in the same order):

The (yellow) and (blue) hobgoblins move toward Gruxx, but when the (yellow) hobgoblin hesitates and lets the (blue) hobgoblin move ahead so that it doesn't get any closer to Glynquinal.
The (blue) hobgoblin moves up to Gruxx (L6) and swings its sword at the barbarian. (longsword attack: 14, damage: 4) Gruxx brings his glaive up to deflect the blow, but the hobgoblin looks almost ready for it, and it cuts in under the weapon. Gruxx's rage, however, lessens the damage.
The (yellow) hobgoblin follows behind the (blue) hobgoblin, ending up next to Gruxx as well (L7). It takes a swing at the barbarian. (longsword attack: 12, damage: 8 + 7 slashing damage ... disadvantage roll: 19) The hobgoblin is too busy eyeing Glynquinal warily to aim properly, and Gruxx is able to deflect the blow.

OOC: overzealous swing can make the most accurate strike miss sometimes.
