OOC: Your post was good! Therien is set and conscious at 8 HP. The sheet was showing saving throws from the fireball damage, I just hadn't gotten to adding Zane's healing word yet.
Zane's magic returns Therien to consciousness, and the dust and soot raised from the explosion begin to settle. The door now sits open, displaying the newly found corridor.
Therien stares down the corridor, wondering what twists and dangers await the group. "If you don't mind friends, I'll allow one of you to take the lead from here."
"I will take the lead. We're going to take this slow. Do we have anything to mark our traveling? Without our 'guide' i do not relish becoming lost in here."
Therien reaches into his pack and pulls out a book (not his spellbook) and says, "I'll rip pages from the book and drop them on the floor periodically, I suppose." While rummaging around for the book, he finds a Potion of Healing that he's been carrying since the group first met Bartle.
"The time seems right," says the elf as he removes the stopper and drinks the contents, gaining 7 hit points.
Looking at Gruun, Therien says, "By all means. Lead on."
OOC: Potion of healing has been removed from Therien's inventory.
Beleaguered by the events of the long day, the party presses forward through the corridor with Gruun giving Therien a respite from taking the lead. The monotonous, fungal-lined walls of the corridor provide a familiar glow. The corridor bends to the left, then to the right for around 50 feet, and then right again, where you reach a fork. There is a path to the right, and the corridor also continues ahead for twenty feet before bending to the left.
Zane takes his lamp, lights it and holds it first at the first bend and then at the second. "If either is a way out, my hope is that there's some air moving from that direction"
The light of the lantern flickers as Zane moves it in each direction, but the flame holds straight once the lantern is held still. Zane does not feel air moving from any either fork ahead, nor behind him.
"Let's not tarry, friends," chides Therien. "I suppose one way seems as prudent as the other. Let's go this way."
Pointing ahead to where the corridor bends to the left, the elf walks on ahead of the group and, in so doing, hopes to see any potential danger before it can harm him and the group.
Therien scans the corridor carefully as he leads the party forward, following the bend to the left to another disappointing cave in.
Returning to the other fork of the path, Therien leads the party forward to another bend to the left, then onward for a short distance to an intersection. Ahead, there are two paths that branch off of the corridor, which continues for a distance before a bend would also force you to the left.
OOC: The Perception check still applies as long as you are moving forward.
Hox marks the path while the party decides which route to take.
There are three paths forward: Two paths up ahead branch off of the left side of the corridor, and the corridor itself turns left around 60 feet ahead.
Idiosyncratic as it is, Therien can't bring himself to pass by a corridor; so he opts to take the first one that branches off the left side. "Corridor number one, where will you lead us?"
This branching path is like a maze in and of itself, twisting and turning for hundreds of yards, before finally straightening out. On the floor at the path's end is a teleportation circle, glowing a faint purplish hue.
Standing before it, tinted eerily green by the fungus along the corridor walls, is a humanoid figure standing upright, wrapped in rotting linen bandages. Letting out an unearthly wail, it begins approaching.
The mummy's haunted eyes meet Therien's as he leads the party around the corner. Its horrid glare induces sheer terror into the elf, and the mummy slowly shambles forward.
Round 1 Order: Mummy Players <=====
Tracking: Therien is frightened by the mummy. All characters are 40 feet away from the mummy.
Therien locks eyes with the most terrifying thing he has ever seen. The elf tries simultaneously to avert his eyes, take a few steps backward (20' total), and cast Magic Missile, sending four glowing darts toward the mummy. (Force damage: dart 1 2 | dart 2 5 | dart 3 3 | dart 4 2)
(OOC: All Therien's spell slots are now consumed)

Lying on the floor, feeling the effects of the tabaxi's spell, Therien mutters, "I cannot wait to leave this place."
Hox looks up to the statue, "Break this? Look like toad, so maybe toad use?"

"A mark is better than a discarded item. If anything I will dull my dagger and mark the stone walls."
Zane is just going to follow.
Hox offers a dagger, "I have three cutters, take one."
