Lawrance again pulls from his unnamed, mysterious source of knowledge, the facts filling his mind with details of things he had never known. A bit lost in the influx, his eyes are wide as a whole new aspect of reality is opened to him. After a minute of mental paralyzation he answers Velon:
"The illithid race have but one sworn enemy race - the Gith-kin. Centuries ago, the Gith-kin were enslaved by the mind flayers, used and abused as slaves and experimental subjects for untold generations. Their original race is unknown but their resemblance to elves is uncanny. They eventually escaped the mind flayers control, having developed prodigious mental abilities to rival their masters, and now are divided into two groups - the Githyanki and Githzerai. The Githyanki are evil, and will hunt any and all Illithid they can find. The BEST part of this is that these two cousin-races live in the Planes!"
"The Githyanki live in the Astral Plane, where they never age and can't breed to increase their race. They raid the space between worlds (between WORLDS! Can you imagine?!?) as inter-planar pirates, stealing and pillaging, as well as laying their eggs for offspring. Their most unique and signature aspect is giant silver swords they carry, made of a special metal. Their cousins - the Githzerai, live in the plane of Chaos, and have been known to help adventuring parties, if the party's goals are something they support. They are typically not evil, but hard to get a hold of. There IS a high level spell we could try to find, if we wanted to cross over into their Plane and make contact, but that could take days away from our goals."
"As far as the most likely to blame for their Elder Brain's demise, I doubt they would lay it at the feet of the Gith, unless there was strong evidence that the Planar travellers did in fact show up. It would be more likely to get them to blame the other denizens of the Underdark - Drow, Duergar, or the like."
"Steeltoes we could find again at that warehouse, possibly. Unless there's a better way?"
“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Lawrance shyly says "It's not me, truly. Whatever God or Goddess responsible for this has chosen to let me access the most profound knowledge." His head comes up as he remembers the recent data dump "In fact, I've spent HOURS just requesting information from this source, learning about the most amazing things in our universe and others! Did you know there's a world that is basically RUN by dragons? Kindly, for the most part, but dragons in the thousands roam that world. Another world has no animal life on it, what so ever, just intelligent plants. And many races roam the space between the worlds, living, loving, dying - spending generations never touching down on any surface. It's amazing!"

Lawrance gets a far-off look in his eyes, his automatic response to questions of information triggered, and a minute goes by...then two.. then three. Suddenly he shakes himself looks back at Perry and says "I don't know what this means, but the best donuts ever are Boston Cream, from Dunkin's Donuts. But I don't know where you could get them, nor what exactly a 'Boston' is, although somehow I was given a recipe that started off with "Stolen from Dunkin's Kitchen" and was followed by some kind of illusion of a kitten playing with a dot of red light."

The party picks its way down to the docks where Silas led you last time, and eventually find steeltoes. He's still in the same warehouse he was in last time. He looks up as you enter, "You guys again? What is it this time?"
Lawrance steps forward and says "We have a need to contact a guide for the Underdark. We were told the Bregan D'aerthe were the ones we need. Can you introduce us, to them?"

Steeltoes throws up his hands, "Last time it's demons in the sewers, now you want to go traipsing around in the underdark. You people really have a death wish. I might know someone, but what's in it for me?"
The dwarf looks at Perry without expression. Eventually he points to the tiefling while saying the rest of the party, "Is he serious? I'm having a hard time telling right now."
Lawrance shrugs his shoulders and says "We're never sure, ourselves. Perry, I think the poor man is looking for a commission in coins for getting us guides."

Steel toes crossed his arms. "One hundred gold. For the introduction. And then if you want it kept quiet that badly, that'll be another hundred for me, and a hundred each for my two companions here." He indicates the guards by him, who are openly grinning at the exchange.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Wha!?" Perry complains as he bites into the lemon cake. With his mouth full, he continues, "Tha'sh highmway robburry! We cans'h giv you 250 gol an 1 lemon cak' total! Rly good!"
Perry being Perry and also whittling their price down to 250 gold and a lemon cake.
Steeltoes shrugs, "That's the price of doing business, but fine, since you lot did accidentally do us a favor last time I'll let you get away with 300 total."
Regarding Lawrance's previous knowledge dump in answering Velon's question the paladin replies "so a moderate Githyanki force from the Astral plane would be handy here, to engage many of our enemies while we slip by to the elder brain and the Tears." "Can you summon that up?" Velon asks this with a straight face.
(This does not happen in front of Steeltoes, I had just missed Lawrance's earlier response.)
Lawrance looks at Velon and shakes his head "I don't have that capacity, to call up a creature I've never encountered, especially if I don't have a name to use that would give us a direct connection to one. As I said before, we could travel over to their Plane and try to find a group that won't kill us on sight, but that could take weeks."
OOC - at Steeltoes shop
Lawrance gathers up the offered funds from the various members and pays the shop-keeper/smuggler 150 gold. "Here you go. Half now, half when we come to an agreement with a suitable guide or guides." (43GP each)

Feeling like they are getting ripped off, Velon gives Steeltoes a glair but pulls out his contribution of the gold to get the process of meeting their potential guides moving.

Morgaine just follows the others around with the shopping and such. She is mostly quiet throughout it all, but will only answer if spoken too.
She will try to stay as close to Poljen as she can. or at least keep him within eyesight.
