“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar

Lawrance studies the Circle carefully from a distance. Not wanting to trigger another event like before, he carefully runs through the possible configuration and arrangements he is familiar with, and those that come to mind from his unusual sources.

Velon leans against the wall and takes another moment to finish not only his spell but his brief prayer to Bahamut. He then stands straight once again and shakes his head, looking at Perry. He says over the link "so I have just tried to use the magic in my blood to find the horn and I tried to commune with Bahamut for aid here since we are walking in circles slowly freezing to death, but the results are confusing. I'd swear the magic worked, but the only horn I sensed within many hundreds of feet of here is.....on Perry." He raises an eyebrow at the bard. "My dear Perry, if you have the draakhorn on you I won't know whether to kiss you or strangle you. Do you have a magical horn, by chance?"
Mari slides away from the doorway and lets the others examine the magic circle. She grins and looks at Perry. " Isn't this in your field of expertise, great teacher of all things worth knowing?
Lia glances at the magic circle and grimaces. She glances at Perry as Velon questions him. She shakes her wondering if the bard actually has the horn they are seeking.
As Velon turns to look at Perry, the bard's head is inside his bag of holding. A bit of rustling occurs, and when the bard pulls his head out from the bag, he sees the entire party staring at him. There appears to be a pastry half sticking out of his mouth.
"Mmph?" he asks, unable to really speak due to the pastry.
Once things are explained, he politely dislodges the baked good from his face and asks, "This horn?"
He shows a beautiful ivory horn that had been secured on his belt behind him. "Wait...THIS IS THE DRAAKHORN!?! But I tested it in the shop! How could this be?! How could I have been so blind to the power I've had all along?"
"I got a good deal on this horn."

When Mari teases Perry on the magic circle, Perry says, "Indeed, apprentice, that would normally be true. I am normally great at these things like most other things. HOWEVER, our esteemed friend Lawrance here is actually the best at matters concerning the arcane. As such, this time I will simply help him to get to the bottom of this magical mystery."
Perry aids Lawrance, "Hmm, hmmmmmmmmm, yes, I see. Do you see, Lawrance? Because I see. This circle here, it must be used to summon something. Something dark Lawrance. But what would you think it could be..."
The bard squints at the circle intently, "Maybe this is how they are transporting the children!"
Perry rubs his non-existent facial hair intently, "Hmm, if it did somehow summon a Tyranny of Dragons then I suppose Citadel Adbar would be in a great deal of trouble right now..."
"Eh, I'm sure there are fine. They have plenty of ballistae, after all, right? No Perry, I don't think that is THE horn. It's ok. It does bother me that I couldn't locate any other, however. Hopefully it is close and some more powerful magic is hiding it from me, as opposed to it not being here at all. I guess we just keep walking through traps until we find it, or our host. At least Mari is doing a good job of helping us avoid many of them."
Mari shrugs and heads quietly toward the door up on the right. She will use her usual method to listen at the door first, pick lock if necessary and then open door.
When Mari touches the door, her hand comes away with stringers of slime, which quickly absorb right through her gloves. A few moments later, she convulses, suddenly unable to draw in a breath of air.
Mari is currently suffocating. 5e rules for this are surprisingly harsh. I'll give her a number of rounds equal to her constitution score before she loses consciousness and starts dying.
Just after Velon had commented on Mari doing a good job she is suddenly convulsing and not breathing. Shocked despite the nature of this place he runs over to her saying "not again, Mari!" The paladin puts a hand on her and begins to mutter something quiet in draconic, casting Lay on Hands to try to cure her of what could be a disease or poison.
Mari grins as the trap is disarmed. She winks at Perry. She walks carefully ahead and will check the door on the left.
She will listen at the door first. I rolled to unlock it if necessary as well.

Velon's spell indicates that an item matching his description is only a few Paces away. It points directly towards Perry.
Mari opens the door to the left, revealing a room laid out with a magical Rune Circle in the center.

Velon relaxes a little and shakes his head. "Well Perry, did it summon a horde of ancient, evil dragons when you tested it out?"
Perry rubs his non-existent facial hair intently, "Hmm, if it did somehow summon a Tyranny of Dragons then I suppose Citadel Adbar would be in a great deal of trouble right now..."
He said the title of the thing in the thing.

Lawrence concludes that this is a circle of summoning and binding, it seems to be specifically linked to the plane of shadow.
Poljen says to Mari, "Since I don't think we are going in there, let's check the next door on the right."
