Cratol still follows the others while keeping track of anything that might try to sneak up behind the group. He will alert the others if he sees anything. He is not certain about following a light but if Lia says so he will go along with her judgement.
Rolled a 19 and a 9 so that is a 26 and a 16 for investigation.
Morgaine being with Cratol will also keep an eye out for any trouble that may come behind the group and attack. She is a bit leery of the "light" that seemed to just go through walls, but she trusts Lia and the others and is a bit more at ease once she hesrs that the "light" has found a secret doorway of some sort. She leaves it to those who have knowledge to such things and watches in awe while still keeping an eye out from behind.
Mari looks at the food that Perry places in front of her. Suddenly the meat is gone as her jaws snap shut. She looks up hungrily at Perry again. Murtle doesn't react when asked about looking at the door but looks at Perry hopefully.
The raven haired elf looks at the sphere from Sune with amazement. Truly Sune knew their need and was offering direct aid to them. Goosebumps were raised on her arms and legs as she felt the close presence of her deity. Sune had spoken directly to her.... " Don't worry Mari. You will be free soon. " Seeing that Mari isn't interested or capable of examining the door for traps she steps closer to the door. She speaks softly to Sune under her breath as she studies it.
Perception w adv. I assumed the help for advantage. If it doesnt apply then her first roll was the high roll anyways. She casts guidance while she works.
Despite having seen similar tricks before involving smaller turtles, giant apes and dinosaurs, Velon's eyes grow wide as Mari becomes the large Murtle. Relieved that his choking friend is ok, for now at least, he slaps Perry on the back and says "you really are amazing, my friend." "You know, you'd make a fine wizard..."
When Lia is able to commune directly with Sune and receive aid in the form of the sphere of light Velon is even more impressed than he was with Perry. He looks at Lia with amazement and whispers to her "we are truly blessed" before following the light with the rest of the group.
Soon enough, a hidden catch is found, and a section of wall slides back, revealing a hidden passage. The skeleton of what appears to have been a dwarf walks past, ignoring you as it carries a crate.
The voice speaks up, "Warning, deviation from the experimentation grounds will result in the termination of the experiment, along with all subjects."
Velon looks a bit confused as the dwarven skeleton walks past, ignoring them. "Ah hells, someone mind catching that crate, just in case?" Velon looks at the swift pair of Cratol and Poljen. He hesitates for another fraction of a second to give them time to respond as he ponders "I wonder who actually IS the fastest between them" but decides the world may never know and proceeds with smashing the skeletons to bits with his hammer.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hearing Velon yell for someone to catch the crate. Even though she knows that Cratol and Poljen are probably quicker than she is, she goes after the crate anyway to help the group as a whole.
Velon easily smashes the skeleton apart, and Morgaine catches the crate before it hits the ground. The crate has no lid, and contains three very familiar looking porcelain dolls, as well as a fourth that appears to have been crushed.
Upon looking into the crate, Morgaine does her best not the drop it right where she stands, even though her arms are shaking at the sight of seeing the familiar dolls. She states in a shaky voice: " What should we do with these?"
She lets the whole party see what is in the crate if they could not do so before.
Velon looks to Lia and the others at mention of 'termination of the experiment, along with all subjects.' Over the link he asks "well, do we trust Sune, or our 'host' here?" "I know where my money lies, but I also can't be sure he won't have his minions dump acid all over us if we stray off of his path. Mostly I think he's afraid of us going this way, so we probably should."
As Morgaine catches the crate Velon smiles and nods with great approval. "Ha, now I know who is truly the quickest! Well done." He kneels and inspects the dolls closely, poking at the broken one with his hand axe to see if there is anything interesting about them, such as inside, that they hadn't noticed. He wishes he had continued to practice his ability to detect magic, but settles for activating his Divine Sense to see if any more undead are nearby waiting to ambush them if they stray as the voice warned.
Lia smiles warmly at Velon's comment. " Blessed indeed. "
Lia looks upon the dolls with irritation but no longer horror. She feels buoyed by the presence of the help from Sune. What can stand in the way of her goddess?
She responds to the paladin over the link. " I vote to follow Sune of course. She is showing the way to shut off his power here Of course he is threatening us to not go this way. I'm sure there will be some obstacles but we will be on the right path. The alternative is to stay wandering aimlessly where he still tries to kill us. "
After Velon questions whether the party should continue, Perry chimes in.
"I think we should continue! You all are the famous heroes of the Silver Blaze after all! This Dr. Freeze person is just an evil villain and a bully too! He's no match for the might of the Silver Blaze! Right Murtle?" Perry asks the large turtle.
Poljen purses his lips upon seeing the dolls in the crate, including the broken one. He says, "Hang on a moment," and walks back down the hall and looks into the room the recently left. He turns to his left from the doorway and looks to see if the doll that had been there remains where they left it.
Upon seeing the doll still there, Poljen calls out, "Velon, that one doll is still here. Want me to smash it while you watch the dolls in the box?"
Upon receiving Velon's approval, the tall man walks over and uses his axe on the doll...
%With a warning like that, we must be getting closer to the manipulator's power. I say we keep going and see what sorts out. I'm going to trigger my stored Detect Magic and hopefully it'll catch whatever he arrays against.% With that Lawrance triggers the Ring's stored spells - both the Mage Armour ( as little help as it may be) and the Detect Magic, peering around to see if anything untoward shows.
OOC - Arcane Ward goes up by 2 points. Woohoo!

Geode sighs a bit as the magic binding him to this plane fades. Lawrance shifts his focus instead towards reading eddies in the weave around him. Once he's tuned out the various strong magical auras on himself and his companions, he finds that the walls of this place are steeped in magic. There seems to be a binding of sorts, of the kind used to expand a spell's affect. This would seem to fit with the story about this castle having been teleported to its current location inside of a glacier. But there does not seem to be magic of any sort on the dolls, nor does he spot anything that looks like a magical trap.
Poljen smashes the doll in the specimen room easily enough, but nothing happens.
Poljen comes back to the others. "Is another in the crate broken?" If not he shrugs. "I never will understand magic." He turns to the others. "I suggest we destroy these dolls."
The light leads you down the secret passage, through twists and turns, apparently these passages wind throughout the complex. Soon enough the light stops at what is apparently another secret door. The catch is right out in the open on this side, a simple lever.

Poljen waits for others to check out the door, then to open it. He will be ready to charge in if there is obvious trouble.
