This thread is for checking to see if people are interested in playing something like this. I have not gotten past the very basic premise but will start preparing it if there is enough interest. Please reply with your ideas, critiques and opinions about this one shot.
The Town of Nowhere.
Players are some commoners who live in the Town of Nowhere. It's a very small and kinda backward village in the Kingdom of Nowhere which is located in Nowhereland. The PC's will use the Commoner stat block with a few small bonuses to stats based on race and choice of profession. Same can be said about their skill proficiency. They will have no saving throw proficiency. They may or may not be proficient in the use of one weapon. That will also be determined by profession.
PCs will walk around town and do commoner things. Combat will include encounters with rats and wild cats. The ultimate goal is to not get the village destroyed by something trivial like one goblin attacking and killing everyone.
Obviously, I will prepare more interesting things to do if there's interest but I'd like to know if there's interest in this idea before I get to work refining it.
I like the idea of starting at a zero level, dealing with the lowest level problems, especially if it turns into a path where the character eventually becomes a 1st Level character. Almost like playing out the background before you actually become a fighter, rogue, wizard, etc. Just create a person and then let this zero level game play kind of determine what they will eventually become. After this one shot is over, you have a more well developed character to move forward with.I would definitely want in on something like that!
It's a bit of both but I'm leaning a bit more towards it being an actual thing. Kinda like a running gag of some kind.
Like I said, this isn't a campaign that I have prepared so it would take some time to start running. I initially want to have a player group that's 4-6 players. I see that there is at least some interest in this idea so I will get to work on fleshing it out tomorrow. Because I had homework today and it's now 12:00 AM where I am. Good night.
I will make a new recruiting thread (which I will link to in this thread) when I have prepared enough to start actually running the thing.
Hey everyone, I'm working on the first mission and the village itself and I thought I'd ask the people who are interested about their opinion before making a big decision.
When I came up with this idea, I was thinking of making it a silly light-hearted campaign with silly stuff happening (Hence the PCs living in literally nowhere). I am personally looking forward to making an silly game instead of a serious one but I thought I'd ask for your opinion before committing. Do you guys want a silly one-shot or a more grounded serious one?
I'm down for a silly, light-hearted one-shot instead of a serious one, but I'm relatively new to the D&D world so I'll respectfully defer to the vets on this matter.

It definitely seems interesting. I'd give it a shot.
I'm down!
This sounds interesting. I'm in if you'll have me.
I would be curious to know if the whole "Nowhere" thing is... a Thing, or just another way of saying you're Not Important.

That sounds great! Thank you :)
This idea is a solid 8 out of 10. I’d definitely be interested.

Sounds good!

How about silly, but also grounded? I like silly, but not like complete and total nonsense kind of silly.
I like a good mix of both, but if you're wanting to make a light-hearted game, then go for it!
I'm done with initial prep work.
