Sim turns at the noise of Abigail scrambling up the cliff wall jumping from rope to rope and watches until she crests the top. Waiting down below he draws his bow letting his arrow rest ready to draw and looks around to see if anything dangerous or concerning is nearby while they wait.
Smelling some sort of fermenting beverage in the horns, Abigail grabs them up before performing a more thorough investigation of the cave. Investigation5
If Abigail does not find anything:
Abigail grabs a few pounds of rations before exiting the cave with a shrug. Once on the ground, she reports, "It's a small cave that looks like a hunter's hideout. Nothing of much interest in it beyond some bedding, spears, and rations."
((Abigail is now ready to continue on our journey.))

Diadochi keeps turning it over in his head and can't figure out why there would be two 15 foot ropes instead of one long rope, he will use perception on the wall. 5
You have no idea why they broke the ropes up that way.
After leaving the valley between the rocks, the group continues forward.
Sim, you're the first to see it all. A cleared away section of mountain; instead of usual rocks and ice grows a circle of grass and a few flowers, all in front of a cave. It's about forty feet away from you all off the trail around the bend of the path. Directly ahead of you, though, is a pile of goblins sitting on top of a vast amount of blood. The goblins seem to be dead. A little past the goblins, also on the trail by some ground that seems to have been disturbed, lays a bear on its side. A quick study of it confirms it isn't breathing either, but you don't see any blood despite it being healthy looking.
The silence is broken by a loud cawof a raven echoing from within the cave. The sound repeating twice, before a eerie silence.
Lafetha, you can't help but to feel... something about that cave. The hairs on the back of your neck standing on end as you look at it.
Diadochi notes the pile of goblins "Well I wish I could say that's the first pile of corpses I've seen. I don't suppose the mayor is still paying for the heads." He will first try to see if there are are any threats in the area perception16 and then he'll try to figure out what happened to the goblins investigation12
Seeing so much death is almost physically painful for Yaalin, Walking over to the bear and seeing no blood she turns to the group, "If your willing to give me some time I would like to perform a ritual here to see if this was magical but beyond that I am afraid I am not prepared for this today."
Diadochi: Around you is just the mass of bodies and the rather green patch of grass. Looking further - there is a faint line of blood from the cave to the bear. Or the bear to the cave. You’re not entirely sure. When you look at and through the goblins, it’s easy to find the slashes of a blade of some sort. Arrow heads still embedded in their appendages. One of them, a gunshot wound to the head.
Yaalin: You perform your ritual, taking the time to enter that meditative trance. When your eyes open, the world is just a little bit different. The tapestry of magic overlaying the real world. Of course the broken plane above gives off its faint aura. Even from this far away - you’re able to pick it up just faintly. But as you turn your attention to look around, a faint aura comes from near the bear. Studying a moment longer shows it's some kind of evocation magic.
Lafetha wonders who or what could have done this, and if they were alone or if it was a group. While Diadochi and Yaalin are checking out the goblins and the bear, Lafetha walks closer to the cave. "Why do I have this strange feeling about this cave? Something doesn't feel right," she says to the group. "Stay on high alert."
She is going to check out the entrance of the cave, and to see if she can detect another presence using her keen senses

Seeing Lafetha head toward the cave Sim follows at the ready. He uses intimidation17 to cause whatever is in the cave to hesitate to attack either of them as they enter.
Abigail: The horn is actually quite a bit stronger than expected. A stronger taste of alcohol from whatever is fermented, a light aftertaste of marrow, and some other pungent flavors you can't put your tail on. ((If you consume two quickly, I will grant you a inspiration point. You will also be drunk for a hour: ignoring fear effects, disadvantage on social checks and some checks requiring dex.))
Lafetha: You peer into the cave, your eyes taking a second to cross over from the bright light of day to the dim light inside. Without going in, you aren't able to tell from just looking around. There seems to be some pools of water in a large chamber. Some kind of glow coming from the pools and casting a lot of shadows around the room. There's a odd pattern on the ceiling, like the roots of a tree. The cave goes deeper than you can fully make out without entering inside of it.
But when you start to look around and run your hands across the outside of the cave, wiping away some of the vines and overgrowth, you see faded words. It's Druidic. The words are too worn down from exposure to the elements to be able to make out what it originally said, but you firmly believe this to be some kind of meeting place for a circle of druids at worst. At best, this could be some kind of druidic holy ground. You then notice a little bit of blood; it seems that something crawled into the cave from the grove.
Sim: While you come up behind Lafetha and to the side of her, you're not able to make out quite as much as she is. Some faint lights inside casting shadows, which you use to your advantage; spooking something up in the mess of the ceiling. It cawing out again twice, sounding like a raven. If it is a raven, or a crow, this is certainly not it's usual habitat.
Diadochi looks at the gunshot wound and to no one he says "Not good at all," he turns to Lafetha, "You're right there, something doesn't feel right at all." He turns his attention to the Bear, perception14.
Diadochi: You begin to walk around the bear. At first it seems to have just... died. When you circle around the front of it, things become more apparent. The bear's undersides having been sliced open and pulled apart. As if something crawled into, or out of it, its chest cavity. Still, there's a distinct lack of blood except for the ground where the intestines now rest.
You do see something sitting inside the bear's cavity. A cylinder of some kind that you could reach in and grab.
Diadochi will say "Yaalin, Sims... Lafetha... I need Someone well versed in... I don't know the natural world, the unnatural one... some one please tell me what I'm seeing." If anyone of them tells him to take out the cylinder he will, but he won't touch it until then.
Yaalin walks over to Diadochi still getting used to the magical overlays on the world. peering at the cylinder I will attempt to follow the source of the magical resonance from this area.
"We need to be careful magic isn't happy here and there is plenty of it to boot, Evocation is unstable even when used properly I wouldn't be surprised if this is going to be trouble." ((This is loud enough for the entire group to hear))
If the cylinder is the source of magic
I will grab the Cylinder and attempt to remove it from the bear.
If the magic source is somewhere else I will attempt to locate the source.
Yaalin moves, carefully pulling out the cylinder. It appears to be a scroll case; the magic aura of evocation coming off of it. The case itself it simple; something you’ve seen on many persons who need to keep a letter or item somewhat protected.
Upon opening it - you are able to decipher the mystic letters and wording. It’s perhaps a bit of good luck; as you recognize the spell as cure wounds. Anyone in your party who knows the spell could cast it; but it’s magic will fade after.

Sim hearing and seeing the Raven and seeing the thin trail of blood leading inside kindly calls out "I see you took care of our Goblin problem and I believe you may be injured. We are here to help you. If you are injured we have a healer and rations. I am going to come in to the cave. trust me that I mean to help." persuasion21
It takes Sim a moment for his eyes to adjust to the cavern. The cavern itself is deep, spreading out over a hundred feet. Inside there are three distinct pools of water. Each of giving off a different shade of blue. The lights casting colors and shadows all around the room. The water in each of the pools was murky - unable to see the bottom. The center pool was much larger than the others. A central rock pillar near the head of the center pool reached the ceiling. The central pillar easily fifteen wide. The left pool and right pool about equal distance from the center, free standing.
Rocks jut out along the ground, casting further shadows across the room. The ceiling is a woven tapestry of what look like large roots. A singular raven, a deep red in color, jumps from branch to branch. It looks over at Sim, cawing our before looking over to a stone jutting out. Something leaning against it; but the shadows keeping it from view.
Towards the very back of the cavern, two tunnels leading somewhere. But that area cast in total darkness.
Sim points out the shadow leaning against the rock to Lafetha. "Can you see anything over there? I think the Raven wants us to find whatever or whoever that is." He then heads towards the shadowy area.

Diadochi will try to smell for gunpowder trying to figure out where the gun was shot perception4 maybe where the goblin was shot. If he figures anything out he won't mention it. Regardless he'll to to the cave, and then to Yaalin and know there is no way that they aren't going in the cave, and say to her "I recommend staying close or staying outside," and then join his companions at the cave.
