Mistweaver allows Dekhan to retrieve his sword, and when he has finished speaking and turned away, she nods, more to herself than to Dekhan. Then she seems to recall what Dario, Scupper and perhaps others have said to her. She thinks a moment, and then simply says, Thank you. Take care of each other.
With that, she glances at the sky, seeming to search for something for a moment, and then, course decided, she walks off through the trees.
Varinth stretches as he watches the interaction between Mistweaver and Dekahn.
Gods and Candles. Don't see that every day. Straight out of a bard song. Wish I had pretty lady telling me to die for her. He whispers and elbows Scupper with a wink.
When appropriate Vaz will say Good Travels Misty. Hope you find your Big Bad.
Varinth then looks around to gather his stuff. Then he remembers he has no stuff. He has a chuckle to himself and then follows Scupper into the undergrowth.

Dario watches Mistweaver disappear amongst the foliage of the forest as he searches the bodies of the dead Goblins. He turns to the rest of the group and says "I think we should make our way to the caves now. I'll take the lead, maybe Asher you follow close behind and have Dekhan cover our rears. Thoughts, gentlemen?"
As you say, Dario, I’ll watch our backs. My last attempt to take them unawares did not turn out so well.
How much do we know about goblins? Would they normally be sleeping at midnight? Would it be better to wait till just before dawn? Dekhan speaks Orc, so I think it fits that he’s had some training regarding monsters. If this jibes he’ll suggest waiting a few hours.
Dario, searching the corpses you don't find anything more than Vaz found. You did notice Vaz searching the goblins and then handing something to Strix. Vaz seems somewhat less drunk than usual at the moment.
Dekhan, you know that goblins typically sleep at night and are often slow to awake in the morning; just before or just after dawn would be a good time for attack. However, goblin societies vary, as does the whim of the chief, so there's no guarantee.
The party finishes packing up, and retraces their steps towards the cave where the goblins have their hideout. You stop just short of the open area where you fought the battle the previous night; it is perhaps three hours before dawn.
You can see very clearly that a lot has happened since you were last here. As you might expect, there has been some clearing up; a pyre with the remains of several goblin corpses is off to one side, perhaps thirty feet from the cave mouth, and is still smouldering a little. From the number of charred bodies, this looks to be the goblins that you killed the day before.
Less expected, there are four more goblin bodies, and the remains of what look to be two large wolves, dotted around the clearing. That's about all you can see easily. You're also unable to see any living goblins guarding the cave entrance or keeping watch.
If you would like to study the scene and try to get more information, please make two rolls, both Perception and Investigation. If you would like to get closer, then you can do so; let me know if you're moving with Stealth or not.

Strix is interested in the placement of the bodies relative to each other and the cave, and the wounds that killed them (ie if the goblins don't look bitten or the wolves don't look stabbed/arrow-peppered. )
Also, are they still warm and can he hear anything that might suggest the incident is ongoing?
Vaz, from this distance, you can see that two of the goblins were killed as they were moving, probably running, away from the cave, with arrows to the back. The other two are lying closer to the wolves, and have their weapons drawn. You can see bite marks and slash wounds on the goblins. With that Investigation check, you get the feeling that there was no outside force involved in this fight. As you move closer, what you see confirms your initial thoughts, but you don't see anything new. There doesn't seem to be any response to your approach, either from the surrounding area or from inside the cave.
If anyone who gets closer wants to check the bodies or the area, please give me the appropriate check: Medicine for cause and time of death, Investigation to look for objects on their bodies, Survival to look at tracks, and anything else you want to try.
Varinth, your staff is where you dropped it, but the empty wineskin and jerkin are both gone.
Dekhan, you search the goblin bodies and, just for safe measure, the wolves as well, but you find nothing - no coins, no weapons, nothing. All the goblins have gashes that look like they were made by weapons similar to the scimitars most of the goblins you fought were carrying. All the bodies also have bite marks, though its not clear if these were fatal. The wolves were killed by slashing weapons. This all took place sometime in the last three hours, you would guess.
The ground is soft enough to leave fairly good tracks, but there's a lot of them. It looks as though all four goblins and two wolves emerged from the cave; another group of goblins exited the cave and headed west, and a third group exited the cave and then went back in. The tracks are all criss-crossing each other, and you don't think you'll be able to tell any more than that.
"If the gashes in the new dead goblins match the weapons the goblins we fought yesterday, I think we have internal conflict between these goblins." Asher says. "If the goblins in this cave are fighting amongst each other, we might be able to pit them against each other. We just need to figure out why they were fighting each other."

OOC: And when I say "Sneak into the bushes after Scupper" I, of course, mean "Travel with the party, preferably in the middle coz I'm squishy."

Could these wolves be on our side? That would be quite a boon.

Is Varinths stuff still about or gone?
Varinth tells his colleagues of his findings.
Dekhan moves closer to investigate the goblins and shakes his head.
Infighting it seems, that tends to be the way of things where evil is concerned.

Varinth says Don't goblins usually ride wolves or is that just a story? And has anyone been counting? How many are left? My brains a bit..
and with that Varinth has a quiet vomit in the bushes.

Varinth, after wiping his mouth with a convenient leaf, picks up his Staff of Uncaring Charcoal and casts Light on it's top.
Shall we? Varinth gestures to the cave mouth as though he was welcoming illustrious diners into a fairly posh Inn.
