Sen sees the child's coin pouch and thinks of his own empty pockets, and where he will sleep this night.  Involuntarily, his hand twitches, and he feels a sudden burst of shame as his face flushes.  No, no that desperate, he thinks to himself.  Not yet, a small voice adds.

Noticing the crowd gathering at the entrance to the alley, he sighs; Great.  Not even twenty-four hours in this city and I'm going to get lynched.  Or arrested. Shaking his head, he thinks back to the guards he passed on his way through the city gates the night before, and casts Disguise Self to make himself look like that guardsman.  He stands up, holding the boy firmly by the shoulder, and walks out to face the crowd.  Nothing to see here, folks.  The guard has it under control.  Move along.  Deception: 6

(Technically the dogs then Aria)

The crowd is confused about where this supposed guard came from, and why he has one of the boys. They might turn ugly quick.

The dogs are eating, they miss another round. Aria is up. 

Aria continually scanning the area, now notices a guard holding the little boy. Confused she makes her way over to the guard and boy. She takes aim at the remaining ravens....

Attack: 15 Damage: 8

She then looks at the boy... Are you ok??

(If Aria didnt respect authority... Sen almost just got an arrow shot at him lol)

The boy looks at Aria, scared, and says "I just want to go home!"

(are the thugs dead?)

(OOC: A fine, upstanding member of the guard like Sen has nothing to fear, I'm sure).

Sen looks down at the lad: We'll get you home, son, you and your friend, don't worry.

Aria's arrow disperses the first swarm of ravens, striking another bird down and causing the rest of the swarm to flee the fight for good. One swarm remains. The boy with Sen is scared and confused - asking to go home - the streets of Waterdeep can be rough, but it might be the first time these boys have seen a fight like this one.

Both of the thugs are still alive, one is untouched and one is barely holding it together. 

Veryes is up, then Gatt, then the remaining swarm of ravens. 

Veryes is going to attack the thug who looks the most injured with her rapier

Attack on Thug: Attack: 18 Damage: 5

Then feeling she may not be able to take another good hit uses a bonus action to cast Healing Word on herself for 7

Veryes' rapier pierces the midsection of the injured thug, and he goes down, clutching his stomach, a pained look in his eyes.

Gatt is up. 

"Where's my damn javelin?" Gatt shakes off his missed swing and attacks the thug closest to him.

Greataxe Attack: 15 Damage: 11

Gatt slashes the surviving thug with his greataxe, splitting the man's cheap leather armor and leaving a 12" long slash across his torso. The man screams in response, terror starting to take him.

The remaining swarm of ravens goes after Aria, not wanting another thunderwave from Veryes. Attack: 23 Damage: 6

Alexandra is up.

Alexandra is gonna pet the dogs and feed them each a day's worth of rations, continuing to keep them close in case they decide to try and take a bite out of her comrades.

Make another animal handling check please, juuuust in case.

Aria drops to one knee after taking a considerable amount of damage from the ravens... she places a hand on the little boy's shoulder and looks at him..

"No worries little one... just a paper cut."

The dogs are cautious - one of them growls low, snatching the jerky away from her.

The remaining thug tries again to attack Crush, making two attacks -
