Kirinar jams the crowbar into the seam between lid and body, the strains to pry the lock open. If that fails, he will ask Ransyl for his aid. (rolling with advantage)
With a groan and Kirinar really putting his back into it he manages to open the chest.
The chest interior is lined with lead and contains 300 gp, a gold tankard embossed with a sad face that smiles when the tankard is filled (250 gp), and a stoppered bone tube containing a spell scroll which Dr A is able to see is the spell remove curse.
"I think this mug is pretty useful! Whattya say, Ransyl - I'll roll you for it! 2 dice - highest score wins..." the fighter pulls out a pair of plain 6-sided dice with marks on each face, then tosses them on the floor between Ransyl and himself. (9) "Ha! Beat that, if you want this magical, mystical mug of over-consuming!!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

You follow the sluggish underground river The water is 3 feet deep, with the tunnel ceiling above it varying from 6 inches to 3 feet over the surface. Occasionally you have to submerge under the water to get past low ceiling areas but you have no major difficulties. If you get any water in your mouth you spit it out and find the water is unfit for drinking.
After some time you find a stairway that leads up to a blank wall. Further along the underground river plunges down into a dark, rocky chasm. Cold air swirls up from below like the breath of some monstrous creature. The depth of the chasm looks to be at least a few stories deep. You can faintly see water at the bottom and hear the waterfall splash below.
Through the gloom, you spot an ornate treasure chest resting on a ledge opposite.
The ledge is 15 feet from the lip of the waterfall.
"If we weren't wading through a stream, I bet I could jump that," the fighter says looking across the way. "Maybe someone could climb around to the ledge? We'll tie a rope to you and hold it here in case you slip..."
"Does anyone have rope? I should be able to climb that ledge!" As he says this, his claws spring from his paws. If someone hands him some rope, he will climb the ledge.
"Be my guest," Keyleth says, still somewhat dejected, handing Kirinar her crowbar.

Ransyl comes to Kirinar’s aid, pulling with all his might.
"Ahbut I'm sure that this might come in handy?"" Dr A says as he takes the spell sctoll.

“Ah, a little bit of fun in the midst of our adventure. Ok, I’m game.” He rolls his dice 4
”Oh, look at that! Beat you by two!” Ransyl pats Kirinar on the back and takes the cup.
"May it keep you entertained! I'm buying the first round after we get back to a civilized place!" Kirinar quips, happy for his friend.

Where to now?
"Should we see where the river leads in the other direction?" Keyleth suggests.

“As long as I don’t have to swim,” Ransyl huffs.
“Ahbut why not follow the river.” Dr A agrees

"Yeah, lets keep moving!" Timber agrees, curious to see what other things this place holds.

OOC: How big is the chest. Does Dr A think it could weigh less than 30 lbs?

Ransyl tosses him some rope, “Here you go!”
Timber will scurry up the ledge, and using the rope, help the rest of the party up, starting with the fighters so that they can help.
Without knowing whats in the chest it looks like it could easily weigh 30 lbs.
