Chubs squeaks in surprise as he feels the witch's cold invisible frame push past him. He swings wildly with his sword as he cringes backwards: lesser of 8, 22 for 5 damage.
Barnaby, who is always holding his staff because, he believes, it makes him look more wizardly, will perceive: 7. If he successfully perceives, he will grab his staff in both hands and thrust the jeweled end at the spot where he believes the witch to be: lesser of 22, 22 for 5 damage.
If possible, Barnaby would immediately signal Chubs to drop the silence, run down the stairs and look for a window through which he could see the spot in front of the front door and cast a flaming sphere there. Let me know if you want any rolls to try it. If it's not possible, I get that too.

There are no rolls involved. The running up and signaling and running down again and casting takes a few rounds, but you can do it.
Misalyk will search this room for any information they may have left behind as to how many victims or where they might go if this place was denied them.

Oh...I just saw your other post. If there is no reason for Barnaby to think he can cast the spell before the witch could get out then he won't bother. Use chubs crappy perception check to search the floor that they fought on for any secret compartments, drawers, etc...
Barnaby will help Misalyk search for clues among any paperwork or ingredients to figure out what the witches were up to. Investigation: 5
Barnaby can go up the stairs and signal for Chubs to cut off the silence, and begin to return downstairs. He could get close enough to the bottom floor to cast the spell on the round after. You do the math, and let me know what you want to do.
In fact, he can run downstairs and be outside the radius of the silence spell, and cast it this round. If he wants. (Right? How big is the radius?) It's all up to you.
From the beginning I never intended that he had gone downstairs. I only put him there because I misunderstood the map. Regardless, If Barnaby thinks there is a chance to trap her inside the mill then he will attempt to do so and Chubs will look for her.
The extra space onto which Barnaby fled was down the steps from the fight. Chubs stayed upstairs. Barnaby, on the steps themselves, saw her disappear. That was that. He did not perceive anything about her after that. He can run upstairs and signal Chubs; he can go somewhere else and do some other thing. Right now I *think* what you're saying is that he goes downstairs, without bothering Chubs, to get the front door in view and to get out of the radius of silence, and put a flaming sphere in it. Is that right?
When you say Chubs looks for her, I don't know what you mean. There is the room you're in. There is a ladder to a trap door above. There is the second floor, where the grindstone is. Then there's the bakery on the first floor. What does he do?
Kif and Misalyk are searching this room. I'll do that bit once I know what everyone is doing.
Woof...okay...I thought we sensed her pushing by to go downstairs. If that is correct then what Barnaby does is, if he thinks there is a chance that it can be done fast enough to keep her from leaving, he will signal Chubs to drop the silence. He will look for a window through which he has a view of the front door. He will cast a flaming sphere in front of the front door so that she can't leave without going through the fire. If all of this is able to happen...Boys! Search the place. I believe I have her trapped
If things get that far Chubs will grab some flour from the pastry making process and start flinging it about everywhere to try and detect invisible.
Again, if any or all of that is not possible, we can just move on and assume she got away.
Chubs sensed her pushing past, toward the stairs. It was on the wall side, so only Chubs. Not Kif. I apologize for not being clear.
Barnaby signals for Chubs to release the silence spell and tries to get a good look at the doorway through the small windows on this third floor of the windmill. Without any clear line of sight, he gives up and saves the spell for another occasion.
In this small, circular room, you see the shaft of the windmill and the thick wooden rod - a log, really - that was being used to turn it manually. There is a small closet and a small bed, and a pile of clothing. Now that you're in the room, at a glance you can see that it's children's clothing. A ladder climbs to a wooden trapdoor in the nine-foot-high ceiling. A moldy bed with a tattered canopy stands nearby.
In the wooden closet are three crates, stacked one atop another, with small doors set into them. Each crate is 3 feet square. The top one is empty, but the middle and lower ones each contain a captive child. Each crate is fitted with a small door that has an iron latch and iron hinges. It can be unlatched and opened easily from the outside.
The children - surprisingly well-fed, for captives - peer out at you through the grates.
The bed doesn't look slept in, but a quick search reveals six pieces of cheap jewelry (worth 25 gp each) are stuffed in the moldy straw mattress.
I think everyone wanted to be in this room, which is fine. Please let me know if I'm mistaken.
The trap door opens overhead, and you enter the dome. You’ve reached the windmill’s peak—a small chamber filled with old machinery. There’s not much room to move around. Light slips into this attic through small holes in the walls.
There's nothing in here but a few bird's nests. You recall that the witches, in their child disguises, urged you to come up here. You would guess they intended to lock you in, given the chance.

Edit: Oof...no bueno.
You're out of combat, if you want to be. Nobody perceives nuthin'.

Regretting not casting cloud of daggers at the door when we came in.

While Barnaby runs downstairs to cast a spell, what does the rest of the party do?

I didn't say that!
