“Well Peanut, I’ve heard that you clerics are particularly handy at dealing with the undead; do you guys think we should try and clear this place out, or should we look for greener pastures?”
“In fact, I have had a peek into the future. Peanut, if you were to channel turn undead, I have seen that at least one would fail it’s save for sure.”
Blue: At least I can guarantee it would roll an 8. I don’t imagine they have a sufficient bonus to beat your DC, but I can’t be sure.
Puddin stares at Barnaby, dumbfounded for a few moments, but shrugs off his odd behavior.
Ok, let's do this. This is my first time turning the undead. We better get this right, if we want a place to sleep.
I'm going to use my inspiration on this, in the hopes that my first try hits all in the house and allow us to take down more than one.
She pulls out a small wooden box no bigger than palm of a human man. It has been painstakingly carved with the runes of her clan, the carvings filled in with the blackest of tar. Within the carving there is an image of an eye. Any other being would think it was merely part of the box's decoration; Puddin presses the eye and box instantly opens to reveal a stone.
She picks up the stone and begins to rub her thumb over Shar's sacred symbol, feeling its energy slowly overcome, almost weighing her down to the earth. She summons her strength to stand and yells the prayer of Shar to Turn the Undead.
You don't need to roll anything, they have to make a save or they get affected, but you can roll again for initiative if you want, using your inspiration to get advantage on that roll
And from Barnaby, too. Puddin, you can use your Inspiration on your initiative roll if you want, though in the future you would decide to use it before you rolled.
Also, for this combat I'm going to let more than one of you go at once. It'll look something like this:
If your name is in bold, you can go:
Kif
Barnaby
Puddin
Zombies
And then all three of you would go, and the order wouldn't matter. If things contradicted each other - for instance, if Kif killed the one that Barnaby was aiming at - then I would sort it out so that it made sense. By doing something like redirecting Barnaby's shot at a different one. Ideally, you guys would post things like "Barnaby aims a firebolt at the one next to Kif. If that one's already dead, then Barnaby aims at the next nearest one." Then, when I'm processing turns, if Kif goes first and kills Barnaby's first target, then I already know what to do with Barnaby's turn. Does that make sense?
Kif, you have seen zombies before, in your travels. These look a little different. Give me perception checks, next time you guys post. Not urgent.
When it's appropriate Kif is going to move up to the closest zombie and attack it. If the one right in front of us isn't there he has enough move to get to the next one
With the help of your darkvision, you can now all see into the house. It is quite dark, but you can see the five zombies Kif described. They begin shuffling toward you. The house is not very wide, but it is deep, and Puddin will have to go inside to try to hit all of the zombies with her Turn Undead power. There is reason to hope that these creatures will likely fail, but the plan does involve that risk.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Die you zombie scum! Barnaby will raise his staff above his head, point at the zombie that Kif attacked, or the next closest if he killed it, and launch a firebolt.
To hit: 18
Damage: 8
Barnaby will remain outside as long as he can see a target, otherwise he will move forwards as little as possible until he can.
Kif is glad he didn't just charge in
Good call Barnaby, there does seem to be something in there
Between a couple of different angles, Kif is confident he has a good look inside the large room. There appear to be five of them.

If we clean up some of these guys maybe the locals will be willing to talk to us
“And maybe we’ll have a place to spend the night.”

Do I need to roll anything for this?
Kif is bracing himself next to the door, ready to step in and slice and dice
Why yes, you need to roll. Kif kicks open the door, with Puddin peeking out from behind his elbow. Barnaby stands in the back.
The room stinks of death and decay, and you hear shuffling feet as you enter, because you are being attacked by five zombies!
And this is what you need to roll, Puddin. Roll for initative!
and I presume you need an init from me as well 15
12
can you remind me what I need to roll to turn undead?

The map is up at Roll20.
Initiative16
Using my other portent die, one of the zombies will roll an 8 on their save against the turn undead.
Is that the starter pistol?
When it's appropriate Kif is going to move up to the closest zombie and attack it. If the one right in front of us isn't there he has enough move to get to the next one
Attack 18
If that hits 11
And that perception 19
Puddin, save your Inspiration on initiative. The zombies got a 1. Let's go!
Kif
Barnaby
Puddin
