The warlock does not show any of the usual tells that a person is lying. Who's to say what that means, though, Glim thinks. This is clearly an experienced charlatan. When she produces the map he is even more puzzled. Perhaps she is lying and she did steal the diary... or perhaps she merely saw the map through his eyes while scrying. But if she wants him to believe she did not steal the diary, whether she actually did or not, what does she expect he'll think if she is able to reproduce the map? What is her game? This is a most unusual woman; that is one thing he can say for sure. One to keep an eye on.
"I'm afraid I agree with the strange human," he says."Sorry, that was both redundant and ambiguous. The warlock is right. We can eat while we travel."
"If there's something I know about, it's chasing down a prize. You don't want to get there too late and find the other guy's got the girl and the treasure, and you're tied to a stake by the natives. That can be a tricky spot."
To Fil, "Can't you, like, shift into a bird or something and catch bugs as we go?"

Fil nods. "I suppose I could do that, but bugs are not as tasty as normal human food." He sighs and shakes his head before standing. "Fine, we can leave now, but the next town we find, we are stopping and eating." He goes outside of the inn to wait for his companions.

"What the? That's forty miles." She turns to the girl cleaning. "I'll have my breakfast now."
Then she sits down, puts her feet up on the table. "That's like, more than a day's travel! I know I'm just a dumb thief warlock girl, but why don't we take the river?"
"The river, yes, well....the Dessarin is not over friendly these days with the recent Elemental going ons. We could hire a boat but sailors are asking a pretty penny to risk travel on the Dessarin these days"
"I can turn myself into a bird big enough for someone to ride on for an hour or so at a time. I assume our druid friend can do the same. And the goliath here flew up to the roof when we were fighting those elementals. That puts us one person short by my count. Anybody else have a way to fly? Even if we have to take breaks to rest periodically, it may still be faster to take a direct route by air than taking such a circuitous route on land."
She leans over to look at the map with Klong, drinking whatever hot thing Fil had ordered with his breakfast. "Oh, sure. Okay. I knew that." She didn't know that.

Klong orders a small breakfast. A dozen eggs, six sausages, a half loaf of bread, pot of jam, and a half hen, along with a quart of tea. He needs to keep it light for travel. Dale's daughter appears quite relieved that that's all the goliath is ordering today.
Fil sniffs the sweet air before returning inside and chuckles at his breakfast being eaten. He orders another plate and sits down. "I can stay in my bird shape for four hours actually."

Gargosh smiles "Thankfully no! I hide it somewhere quite ingenius that they didn't look! I had a plan for horses -- my other cousin Dagol owes me a favour"
Glim looks at Klong. "Ah, yes, of course... the rivers flow north. Perhaps you'd like to share for the less intelligent members of our group how you deduced that, my large friend?"
He pulls out something from a small cloth bag, which looks like a millipede coated in some sort of crystalized sugar, and pops it into his mouth. The loud crunch sound that ensues as he chews would threaten to drown out anyone else's response; fortunately the goliath bard has quite the ability to project his voice.
