The figure next to Dvarik draws his hand crossbow and fires it wildly at Tock.
Hand crossbow Attack (long range): 9 Damage: 6
The bolt sails wide. Tock is up. He is 60 feet away from Dvarik and his crony. He is 120 feet away from the other four. He is about 2500 feet away from Martin and the rest.
Tock looks at the crossbow bolt shoot past him and says calmly, "My people hired you. Things have since changed and your services are no longer needed." He will theatrically drop/slink to the ground where he stands is and while doing so use his action to Invoke Duplicity 25 feet in front and to the right of himself to create an illusory duplicate that seemingly raises out from the ground to stand there. He himself will try to blend with the shadows, possibly dropping the disguise if that would help.

Tock:
"What the..."
"Shh..." Dvarik says as he also fires at the duplicate.
Light crossbow Attack: 14 Damage: 7
The shot passes squarely through the duplicate's shoulder.
"Huh," says one or the other of the men.
"I think we've been made," Dvarik says. "We have to move quickly."
Dvarik and his man return to the others, whispering in hushed tones to each other. They then fan out, heading towards the Fortune & Favor, none of them directly down the drive...

As the pair turns away, the illusory duplicate quietly slides after them and tries to touch a crossbow or sword or armor of one of the guys and cast Light on it (DEX14 save).
Tock will sneak after them, quietly working his way to the other side of the line and once they start getting close (within like 100 feet of the arcway), he'll take a shot at the last guy in the line with a +1 bolt:
Attack: 24 Damage: 19
He will immediately drop down and roll to his left into a slight ditch, hiding in the process (stealth: 37)
It's his way to "signal" that the hostiles are getting close.

Tock:
Dvarik's companion jerks away as the duplicate gets close.
"Stay alert!" Dvarik says. "He's nearby."
"Scatter," a woman says.
Before they can head towards the inn, they move out in every direction, including away from the inn. Several of them disappear into the night completely but Tock is able to follow several others in spite of their silent efforts.
Neither are visible to Bulwark and Gash but Gash knows they are there somewhere. Bulwark and Gash are up!
(I have no battllemap for this. All are standing in a hallway, so everything is pretty close quarters. We will try theater of the mind for this fight.)
Martin takes aim and fires sharpshooter shots at C. Attack: 14 Damage: 24
Attack: 25 Damage: 22
End of turn
Oops sorry, Martin can only see B. Nobody can see A.
Then at A 😂 and a bonus action to Beast Shift, for advantage on Wis checks. And this is forest, my favored terrain. Just as an FYI for looking for hidden folks.

A is hidden to everyone and there are a couple of trees but it is an estate, not a forest.

"Someone's here Bulwark, get ready." Gash positions himself so that Bulwark is in between him and the assassins. He then tries to cast a flaming sphere so that between the sphere and Bulwark are the two assassins.

Gonna need a deception roll and a stealth roll to pull that off.
Tock deception: 12
Stealth: 26
(well, expertise in a skill is only useful so far.. if you roll a 3 then the result will still suck)
