'Kay returns to the group, torch in hand, hunkered low. "Up ahead the webbing is too thick to see past. If'n we're to progress farther m'afraid we'll have to be prepared to disturb more of our eight legged hosts. Maybe dousing the webs with oil..." 'She trails off, looking her companions over. She hands the bugbear her waterskin' "Drink this, it'll restore some of your fortitude." 'Kay takes one of the vials oil from Kestrell, looks it over for a moment, then starts back toward the walls of webbing.'
"No book. Does anyone know who the initial T.S.E might be? And his body must be around here somewhere. Unless the horse just wandered into the cave riderless. "
"This lamp oil will come in handy for my lamp, save me some dickering with Daegrun. Does anyone else want a vial?"
"And what is this? A pin." 'Kestrell holds it up.' "Does this have significance to anyone? If not we can sell it and split the profits!"
'The initials mean nothing to Kestrell, though the bard has entertained and mingled across different social circles enough to know that common folk don't typically have monogramed items or use three initials, or initials at all for that matter. Such behaviours are typically the province of very wealthy or highly esteemed individuals.'

Orlys looks the stuff over, then grunts in his low baritone, "Ye'll want ta keep the lettered item, as proof ye found the horse. Ye'll need it if'n there's a reward. I'd best put these down for now, if we're going deeper in," and he carefully deposits the spider carcasses, drinks what Kay gave him (after sniffing it carefully), then hefts his maul and follows Kay.

'Holding her torch out to the thick silvery webs, Kay notices that the flame flickers and dims even further, threatening to gutter out all together, though a small stream of water begins to drip from the webbing, as though the torchfire was melting a thin coating of ice upon the adhesive filament. The thick, cold and now damp web barely smolders at the presence of the weakening torch flame. The webs are too thick for Kay to be certain, but they appear to stretch back at least ten feet. Orlys ducks his head a little at A’ro’s surprise. “An’ there were some critters, too, what spat acid at us. The sooner I’ve planks beneath me an’ water beneath them the happier I’ll be.” Then to Kay, “Yer fire is doin’ naught, eh?” The bugbear will give the webs a tentative poke with his maul, then a bolder stroke. Can he bludgeon them aside?
