Mairi folded her arms beneath her chest, and looked askcance, muttering "well, but-..." prior the rest becoming too indistinct to be even consider words. However, for all of her reluctance, the answer given prior about joining had yet to change. "Well, I appreciate vote of confidence, and pep talk, for what it's worth, Ms. Brigga. But as Oghma as my witness, I wouldn't count me as one too soon." She smirked. "More importantly, what are we going to do now? It will only be a matter of moments now before the stuffy gits in iron come around to question the lot of us, and so far we know... what exactly? A direction the perp left, this necklace maybe be involved, and that some random folk got caught in the crossfire..."
She frowned, and by this point couldn't resist pulling out her book to start joting down notes. "Did any of you get a closer look at the bodies? Learn of any peculiarities with them? Something to tie this incident to something grander, perhaps? Or even clues in who they are or were from?"

As Saralyssa is going about the casting of her spell, Tyrus politely says to her in gnomish, "Excuse me, but if it's of any use, I know the Identify ritual."
"That would be helpful indeed." Saralyssa responds, handing over the necklace after detecting that it was magical.
Looking over the Necklace, Saralyssa can tell that there is definitely some magic within it, but would take magic to identify any further information.
When Tyrus casts his ritual, it takes some time but it does result in the knowledge of what this is. This looks like it could have been the cause of the fireball, as it is a Necklace of Fireballs.
After the ritual is complete, Tyrus goes to take the coins and finds them where they were left. He takes them to the Manor part of the tavern where the Abandoned Dragons have made their home.
((OOC: For reasons, I want Tyrus to make a Perception check while he is picking up his coins))
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tyrus's Perception Check: 12
[OOC: Clearly Tyrus is more concerned about the coins. However, they aren't his coins, they're the tavern's profits that he is just trying to keep safe.]
Mairi eyes light up at the mention of Zhents. "Another lead! Thank you, Oghma!" She said in a high pitched voice and fingers steeppled before her lips. Seeming to realize the strangeness of her own actions, Mairi folds her hands behind her back and smiles sheepishly. "Using a spell of that magnitude still seems a bit excessive just to want one guy dead, Zhent or not... unless you wanted to cover up something."
"But what? Hmm... By now its too late to check the bodies for any other clues. Maybe a note, or excess of coin. Because I think I have a picture forming in mind." She admits, her gaze askance and eyes flickering to and fro as if rapidly reading a page. "A-also, have you decided what you're gonna do with that? 'cause if you keep it, well... holding onto evidence to a crime is a big no-no if caught. Like, REALLY bad. I-I want tell of course, but..." She shrugs helplessly. "
“So we’ve got a necklace of fireballs, a fireball, and some Zhentarim killed in the blast. Seems like this is starting to add up,” Briga says.
“Don’t sweat it with the evidence stuff. I’m still a licensed bounty hunter, and we’ve got ties with most of the important groups in this city. We’re on the side of the archons, here, and the city knows it.”
“What did you mean about the culprit being not exactly normal? Did someone get a look at the suspect? What they looked like, and where they came from?” Briga clenches her fists reflexively, as she stares out the tavern windows at the wreckage outside.
It has been twenty minutes since the blast went off, when Sargeant Saeth Cromley from the City Watch. The Abandoned Dragons have encountered him before, in the Zhentarim den back when they were looking for Floon. "Well, well, well, looks like we find you at the heart of this again," says the sergeant. A voice comes from behind them "No no no, these couldn't have been the ones who were responsible. None of them are constructs," says the figure. "Barnibus Blastwind, of the Watchful Order of Magists and Protectors" Saeth introduces the figure with him. Those from Waterdeep, or who have spent some time here, know the Watchful Order of Magists are Protectors are the spellcasters that defend the city. They also work with the City Watch in situations where their expertise would be helpful. "If you don't mind, Cromley, while you're speaking to these people, I'll have a look around the crime scene," he said with a nod, and made his way back outside the tavern.
"A young man brought this to my attention." Saralyssa says then, stepping forward with the necklace in hand. She holds it out to the city watch individual. "He said it fell into a water bucket just after the blast. I thought it best to keep track of it so I could make sure you got it for your investigation."
Flustered, Mairi had tried to rack her brain on answer, only to mutter a prayer of thanks underbreathe from Cromley's interruption."Construct?"He muttered, seeming lost in thought for a brief moment. And after which, she started to open her mouth as if to say something; only to close it, remembering the threat from the noblewoman.

“I’m a licensed bounty hunter for the city, and a knighted member of the order of the gauntlet. My friends and I, the adventuring company called The Abandoned Dragons, hive provided aid to the city in the past,” Briga says. “What did you mean, the suspect is a construct”?
"That's what the order are saying, you'll have to ask Barnibus more about that when he gets back from looking around and speaking to people. He will have some questions for you all as well," Cromley said, a little irritated at the mention of the order.
"Willing to answer any questions." Saralyssa says with a shrug. "Other than the necklace though, I didn't see much of use, since I was inside the tavern having a drink when the blast hit."
As this conversation is going on, Tyrus will be helping the staff try to get the place back into some semblance of order. He will also make the rounds of the injured seeing if they're okay and, for those who aren't badly injured, he will hand out some more of the free drink chits to try to get them to try out the tavern in the future.

“Well we will do that, then,” Briga says, purposefully ignoring their off putting reaction to her mention of her knightly order. “We’ll talk to Barbibus, gladly. I’m sure we can help each other out in getting to the bottom of this.”
Cromley nods and after a few minutes, Barnibus Blastwind comes into the room. "OK, looks like the gnome figure was headed to this tavern under pursuit. There were three men. Only two of the persuers were killed in the blast. They were moving towards this tavern, and it seemed they were all surprised by the blast. Tell me, are the owners around?" he asked Sargeant Cromley, who points to Briga, Tyrus and Griffdar. "There are a couple of other guests that were around during the time of the blast," the sergeant lets Blastwind know who simply nods dismissively.

"One of them was a Zhent," calls out Tyrus as he goes about his business. "Flying snake tattoo and all."

As she finished her spell, and handed over the necklace, Saralyssa cues back into the discussion around her.
"I'd be happy to join you in this." She says to the group. "Better than sitting around reading dusty old books anyway."
