"But what about the opening?" asks Tyrus, looking at Griffdar and Briga. "As soon as the guards be finished talking with us, we should be opening the tavern again."

“You’re absolutely invited, Sara. You stepped up. I’m glad you’re willing to keep it up,” Briga says, and gently claps a hand on the gnome woman’s shoulder.
Mairi shrugs at Griff. "I doubt they're enemies, at the very least, Big Guy. Gond's kind of... mm... Yea, I don't know why a dragon would care one way or another 'bout the God of Invention, so, I wouldn't worry too much." She then looks over to Tyrus. "Oh right. That is a thing... Though, after what happened just outside, I can't imagine you'll get a lot of customers for a while. But, if at least one of ya gotta stay..." She trails off with a helpless shrug.

“I think Mairi is right. Tyrus, you handed out a lot of free drink coupons. We can resume tending to the business later, and the hirelings can probably man the bar ‘till we get back,” Briga says. “As long as the street looks like a war zone I don’t expect we will get much foot traffic here, anyway.”
"Eh can never be too sure. So many out there, can't keep track of 'em all. I remember one time I figured a dragon is a dragon is a dragon and wandered into some... less than friendly temples." Griff chuckles a little bit his white and yellow stained teeth contrasting his jet black scales. "Well, I suppose you'll be needing somewhere to sleep wont you? I'm sure we can fix up a nice room or two for you both..."
Griff looks over at Briga and Tyrus, "I think we could reopen. The halflings can handle it. Waterdeep is a rough city I don't think a little explosion is going to stop people from wetting their beaks. I mean, The Yawning Portal has beasts crawling out of it for Bahamut's Sake!" Griff laughs, "Yeah, I think it'll be okay. Plus we'll have to make up for those free drinks."

The halflings nod and say "sure, we can look after the place while you guys are out, and Lif is here too," one of them says as you make your way out of the tavern to begin your own investigations. Also known as the House of Inspired Hands, the Temple of Gond is on the corner of Seawatch Street and Shark Street in the Sea Ward. Not travelling too far from the tavern, you arrive together at the temple.
The House of Inspired Hands looks like a cross between a temple and a workshop. The symbol of Gond, a toothed cog with four spokes, is displayed prominently all over the building. You can see the silhouette of a humanoid shape perching on top of the rooftop, maybe about five foot tall. It extends out an arm, releasing a tiny metal sparrow into the sky. The sparrow does a few loops in the air and it looks kind of cool. The figure on the rooftop seems to go through the roof, as the bird continues flying towards you.
Tyrus is actually kind of glad to get out of the tavern for a while, the preparations for the opening have been arduous, but then there was an explosion right outside the front door, so he's also a little wired.
"That there bird," he says, pointing it out to Briga. "That be a construct. But I not be knowing why it's coming straight toward us like that."
Feeling a little nervous as the bird continues to zoom towards the group, Tyrus will do the Dodge action... just in case.

"That... uh... that happened." Mairi states after blinking owlishly at the wreckage. "We should, uh... we should hurry inside, and see if we find out who tried to -- Eh... I don't even know what that was about." Mairi states. And yet, rather than hustle on inside, she stops to at least briefly to gather any pieces to show the people inside. "Though I swear, if that was some attempt at a prank, whoever did it is not very good at those."

Saralyssa's eyes scan the area, her fingertips glowing with flame as she looks for further threats. Seeing none she relaxes a bit, tention leaving her body. She brushes hair, the color of the flames from her fingers, back from her face, as she glances around. Noticing the broken bird, and seeing it was not an actual threat to begin with, she colors slightly, her coppery skin helping to make that hard to tell though.
"Umm..." She says as she looks up from the broken mechanical bird. "I really don't like things flying at me like that..." She collects herself, any remaining tention flowing away from her body. Nodding towards the temple she asks, "Shall we go and see what this bird is all about?"
The temple itself is open and abuzz with activity as you walk into the main hall of the temple. The corridor is lined with a total of two dozen marble pedastals that each display a prize-winning invention or miniature model of some other extraordinary creation. As you walk in, you are greeted by a dragonborn with bronze scales. "Greetings, may Gond ensure your experiments are fruitful. How can we be of assistance?" she asks.
Briga steps back with Sara, nudging Tyrus, Griff and Mairi, the group’s most charismatic members, to take the lead. She does make a point to display her emblem from the order of the gauntlet, and keeps her bear cowl pulled low.
OOC: Briga will provide the Help to social skill checks.
Deciding that Griffdar, his dragonborn friend, is probably the best person to talk to this dragonborn temple attendant, Tyrus smiles at the attendant and then pretends to show an interest in the exhibits. What he is actually doing is keeping an eye out for anyone in the room who looks like the silhouetted figure he saw outside, the one who launched the bird construct.

"Hello friend. We were on a case... of sorts. You see, we have a tavern and outside of that tavern there was an attack. A loud explosion. Anyway, the prime suspect is a construct. And we thought that maybe we would check your temple to see if you have had any constructs gone bad? Or something of that sort. We really just want to keep the people of the city safe.
