Briga will attempt to attack them by surprise and to take them down quickly, and hope her companions back her up.
OOC: For clarity, how far away are the targets, dimensions of the room, etc? Can I perform a surprise round, say using a bonus action to activate Rage, moving and attacking one of the targets, then moving away with my remaining speed? She would attack from reach and then move away, to clarify, to avoid Reaction attacks against her and to set herself up for a reaction attack against the first enemy who enters her reach, via Polearm Master.
OOC: Also, let me know if you would like us to roll initiative first, and if this scenario would allow for Advantage on her attack roll. Should would attack the human first if they are within her reach (30 foot move, 10 ft reach), assuming such movement would not provoke a reaction attack from the dwarf.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The room is 15 feet wide and 20 feet long, with the duergar and the human about 10 foot away from each other - the duergar is located near a door in the northeast corner of the room, heading east. There's another door opposite where you come into the room, and the human is standing ten feet away from the door you enter. There is a five-foot gap between them with the only option to be in melee range of both targets is to become flanked by them. The Duergar is currently dragging a piece of furniture up against the north-eastern door.
I'll have everyone roll initiative at this point, as you've decided to take that route.
OOC: OK, and we're approaching from the west as we were eastbound, if I'm understanding correctly, if Briga steps one square/5 feet into the room she can reach the human with her weapon's 10 ft reach, and then move back one square, allowing her companions to pass if they wish? Also, do you want an initiative roll first, or just attack/damage, and on the attack, should it be a standard roll, or with advantage?
(OOC: You get a surprise round, but that will happen in the initiative order of you guys, so once the first round is over and everyone has posted with their first action, we'll enter the order proper with the NPCs.)
Briga steps into the room, uses a Bonus Action to enter Rage, uses the Attack Action to attack the human enemy from reach using her Glaive, then steps back, allowing others through if they wish to do so.
Tyrus stays behind the others as they attack and will use the blood on this thumb to attempt to cast the bane spell on the two people the others are attacking [Spell Save based on Charisma; DC: 12 ].
[OOC: Does he automatically recognise the shorter of the two as a duergar as suggested by the description? If not, here's a Perception roll to do so: 9. If he does know that one of their enemies is one of the evil duergar, he will use his bonus action to give Bardic inspiration to the first party member who attacks that monstrous dwarf in melee. ]

Tyrus is first to act, as the door opens and the group peers inside, Tyrus releases a bane spell.
Charisma Saves:
Zemk: 16 Krentz: 14
The spell goes off, but neither the human or the duergar seems to be affected by the spell.
Arlon releases a firebolt on the human, which manages to leave a pretty nasty burn, as Briga comes in with her axe and crushes his skull in dealing fatal damage to the head. (NOTE: Briga has done enough damage to kill the human outright in one strike...)
(OOC: Due to an NPC killed, before I continue with anything - Griffdar - do you wish to carry out the same action now we know one of them is dead, or do something else? Will let you get back to us before I continue the round).
Fighting in rage for the first time, Briga's companions see the remorselessness she displays as she kills the man. She doesn't seem to be looking at them as people, but through them, at some fixed point in the distance far beyond the small room. When the man's head is opened, and his body hits the floor, she skids backwards, moving like a marionette on wires jerked by an invisible puppeteer, raising her glaive back to a defensive position in a sudden, inelegant movement. Though she would never admit it later, and likely wouldn't even remember it, in the moment she is moved be equal parts fury and ecstasy, losing herself in the freedom of rage and violence like an addict seeking oblivion.
